Acknowledgments

They say it takes a village to raise a child, but in my case, it took a town full of incredibly talented performers to inspire Unchained Melody. For years I have had a love affair with the performing arts, but like Callie, I’ve always been content to be in the audience.

It is also easy to stay in the audience- when music reads like algebra and you can’t play an instrument to save your life!

So a big thank you to the artists and Muses of Mackay, from the awesome D. J’s I’ve been lucky to know over the years as a bartender, the wonderful members of The Mackay Musical Comedy Players who invited me into the fold for Hairspray last year, to the Cheerleaders at Adrenalin, to the dancers at Fame Talent school, the students at the Mackay Conservatorium of Music, the karaoke enthusiasts, and especially; to every musician with a dream and a ponytail who stumbled through the door of McGuire’s Hotel back when I was in charge of their promotions.
 

An extra special thanks to my childhood best mate Spock, who showed me that there was a world of music outside Aqua by shoving Metallica down my throat for 5 years, and to my team of Beta readers and editors- my sister Donella, and of course, the Evil Trio, Beki, Hayley and Tezza, and to Adam Spizzo who is helping me bring the song ‘Melody’ to life as I type!

And most of all- to my beautiful cover model Madi, my tireless cover designer Natalie Spasic and lastly but mostly- to Jen, who actually challenged me to write her a stand-alone novel (my first) for her birthday. When I found out that was 6 weeks away, I laughed and yet- Unchained Melody happened because of her! Happy Birthday Jen!
