She turned her head to one side, panting. After a couple of seconds, she whispered, “Don’t be sorry about that. Don’t
ever
be sorry. That was…that was…well, it was too amazing for words.”

Declan burrowed his face against her cheek and kissed the corner of her mouth. “I’m glad you enjoyed the experience of something new. Next time you owe me some foreplay.” He pulled his cock from her body and retired to the bathroom to clean up. Still shaking from the experience, he reentered the bedroom to find Troy covering her sleeping form with a blanket from the foot of the bed. He’d put his jeans back on, so Declan grabbed his off the floor and half dressed again.

“You fucked her into a nice, deep slumber,” Troy whispered with a half grin shaping his mouth.

Declan drilled a disbelieving stare at his friend. “Oh, I had a little help.”

Troy shrugged, but the smile didn’t fade. Ava hadn’t moved from the spot he’d left her in. He glanced at his watch. It was coming on to midnight already. He hadn’t realized it was that late.

Troy whispered. “I really don’t feel bad about what we did with her tonight. But then again…maybe it was a mistake to get so intimately involved.”

Declan looked over his shoulder at Ava. “No. She’s not someone I’d ever call a mistake. Simply providence.”

“Okay. Fine. Good. What the hell are we going to do now? Given that we don’t know what the hell is going on with her house exploding and gun-laden Jeeps following in the wake of the blast. Not to mention gun-happy farmers shooting at us as they chase us off their property.”

“Not sure. I can barely wrap my head around everything that’s already happened.” His gaze focused on Ava.

“Yeah. Me, too.” They both stared down at her. Before Declan could form another thought, his phone started vibrating on the desk.

Quickly answering, he whispered, “Hello.”

“It’s Clay. Are you in trouble?”

“No. Why?”

“You’re whispering,” Clay said.

“Maybe someone is asleep.”

“Ava Campbell?”

Declan sighed. It was as if Clay could see through the phone. “Yes.”

“That’s one of the reasons I called. There is something you need to know about her.”

“She’s not a terrorist, is she?” He glanced over his shoulder at Ava, peacefully sleeping.

“No, but this situation with her is getting more and more complicated. Somebody may have already figured out that she didn’t die in the house explosion.”

Declan narrowed his gaze. “That was fast. What makes you think so?”

“There was a bench warrant issued for Ava Campbell’s arrest half an hour ago.”

The incredulousness in his tone came through clearly when he said, “For what? Escaping certain death?”

There was a long silence at the end of the line before Clay responded, “No. She’s wanted for first-degree murder.”

* * * *

Ava woke in a strange bed to the whisper of men’s voices and at first panicked when couldn’t remember where she was. Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she also took stock of how relaxed her body was at the moment. The rush of sexual memories came back quickly. Quelling a satisfied groan, Ava realized she’d dozed off after the second bout of amazing sex with Declan. There wasn’t a single place on her body that hadn’t been completely satisfied by the two men she’d had sex with tonight. Three orgasms in the same night was a personal record.

Troy’s cock was huge. She’d actually felt a little overused after being with him. But not enough to keep herself from also enjoying Declan. He’d been equally huge, and she’d enjoyed round two more than she’d expected. Declan had done something to her no man ever had.

And she liked it.

When his finger had pierced her rear channel after he’d pushed his massive cock all the way inside her gushing pussy, an unfathomable sensation of near bliss had burst inside her body. Never would she have expected to enjoy any kind of anal play.

If she lived to be one thousand years old, she’d never forget this night. Two amazingly well-hung men working in tandem to bring her the utmost pleasure she’d never thought possible. She’d never ever slept with two different men on the same night. And certainly not while the other watched and then helped bring her off a second time and then fucked her himself for good measure. Amazing.

Since they’d told her this was a lifestyle they already enjoyed, Ava wondered briefly if she’d be allowed to join the club. She quickly discarded the idea. This wasn’t a date. It had simply been an opportunity to scratch a mutual itch. Ava refused to entertain the idea that this had been anything more than casual sex between consenting adults.
Fan-fucking-tastic
sex, but carefree nonetheless with no expectations of a future built in. She got it.

She’d certainly delved deeper into her sexual repertoire than ever before. She had only wanted to expend some pent-up emotion in the form of lust after the harrowing night. She wasn’t really in the market for a permanent love life. But if she ever was, these two were tied for first place at the top of her list of men she’d like to fuck again.

Hadn’t Declan whispered something about owing her foreplay next time? Her lips shaped into a smile as she conjured thoughts about what next time might entail. Their whispers continued. She wondered what they were talking about.

The whispering between them went on for several more minutes. She didn’t hear anything specific at first, but then she heard her name. Should she let them know she was awake?

The low hum of the air-conditioner fan motor stopped suddenly, and she was able to distinguish their low-toned conversation.

“What are we going to do with her now?” Troy asked.

“You know what we have to do,” Declan responded after a short pause.

“I really hate to take such drastic measures.”

“Me, too, but it can’t be helped. She can’t be found.”

Troy sighed. “I know you’re right. When will we do it?”

“Soon. We won’t be able to stay here for very long afterward. Too risky being seen.”

They didn’t say anything else for a few minutes. She got paranoid, wondering if they were looking at her pretending to sleep. The words “drastic measures” and “she can’t be found” circled around her brain with a high level of unease. What were they about to do to her? Her level of panic spiked when she couldn’t think of anything else but murder to fit with their conversation.

Troy said, “Do you want to go out to get the supplies we’ll need, or stay here and keep watch over her?”

“I’m the only one registered at the motel. I’ll have to go out.” Declan paused and added, “But if she wakes up, don’t tell her anything.”

“Duh. I’m not a moron. Don’t forget the plastic,” he added in a loud whisper. “That shit makes a mess.”

The room became silent even as she barely breathed in and out, trying to stay small and figure out what was going on. Ava heard shuffling around the room as Declan apparently readied himself to leave and go get
supplies and plastic because what they were going to do to her would make such a mess
.

What was Troy not supposed to tell her? What did they need plastic for?
Crap
.

Ava pondered her options. Once Declan left, maybe she needed to subdue Troy and get the hell away from here as fast as she could. Her trust in these men may have endangered her life.

The air-conditioner fan resumed making noise at the exact moment when Declan left. She heard a few more whispers, but not what was said. The motel door opened and closed. Troy didn’t get in bed with her even though she waited for him to.

It was difficult not to squirm wondering where he was in the room and what he was doing.

She had the benefit of knowing the surrounding area better than they did. Although Declan had certainly surprised her with the escape route through the woods. Once she got away, there were several places she could hide out where they’d never find her. Maybe. The important thing she felt prompted to do was get out and worry about everything else later. The continuing story of her life right now.

Unfortunately, she had a few challenges before being able to get out of the room.

First of all, she was buck naked beneath the sheets. Her clothes were strewn about the room from her earlier launch into the sack with strangers. Foolish. Very gratifying, but foolish all the same.

The air-conditioner fan stopped again, and soon after, Ava heard the sound of the bathroom door closing. Seconds later, she heard Troy’s muffled voice through the door as if he spoke on the phone.

This was her chance. Heart pounding frightfully hard in her chest, she carefully slipped from the bed onto her hands and knees. She smoothed her hands over the carpet trying to quickly locate her clothes. As her eyes adjusted to the lack of light in the room, she noticed her things had been carefully placed at the end of the bed.

Ava stood silently, reached out to grab her clothing, and started getting dressed, all the while staring at the bathroom door and listening to Troy’s deep-timbred voice through the door.

Once fully dressed, she listened to ensure he kept talking. He did. Carrying her shoes in one hand, she headed for the door. She debated for a couple seconds at possibly trapping him in the bathroom with the chair, but discarded the idea. Declan would be back to let him out soon enough. No need to piss him off and waste her time doing something that might not work anyway. As big as he was, Troy could probably break through the door no matter what she put in front of it anyway.

She pulled the curtain aside and scanned the area right outside the room. The SUV was gone. Ava dropped the fabric and reached for the door handle.

Sweat slicked her palm as she turned the knob and quietly exited the motel room. Heart pounding in her throat and expecting Troy to catch her at any second, Ava eased the door closed again. Once he finished his call, he’d discover her missing very quickly. It was time to go.

Ava slipped her shoes back on and moved quickly down to the end of the row of rooms. She passed the room labeled number ten and rounded the corner at the building’s end to hide out of sight from where Declan would park when he came back with the supplies…and the all-important plastic.

While her short journey had been filled with meager light, where she stood now was cast in darkness. She looked up at the decorative outdoor wall sconce attached to the corner of the building. It was out. Or turned off to economize.

She glanced around the darkness to get her bearings. Her hand brushed her pocket and the bulge of her phone therein. She pulled the device out of her pocket and turned it on.

The inspiration to call someone died quickly when she couldn’t name a single person who’d help her at this hour. In fact, sadly, she couldn’t think of anyone to call during the daylight hours either. Marisol was gone, and the only other person she’d called in the last two months on a regular basis was the construction crew leader working on her house.

Tomorrow was soon enough to call Diego and tell him all his hard work had been destroyed in the blink of an eye. She turned the phone off to conserve the battery and slipped it back into her sweater pocket.

Still, she knew what motel they were at, and she also knew there was a sheriff’s station not too far away from here. Surely there would be someone working the graveyard shift able to help her. She’d never reported her home being blown up anyway. She could make a statement and ask for protection. Ava’s gut twisted.

Troy and Declan had protected her. Why would they want her dead now? What had changed besides the exceptional sex they’d availed themselves of in the heat of the moment? A horrible thought occurred suddenly. Had Troy and Declan had something to do with the explosion? No. She quickly discarded that idea. They’d been as shocked as she was when it blew up. No one was that good of an actor.

Ava did a little mental calculation. Once she got away from this room, she’d turn east, headed away from the motel. That would lead her almost in a straight line to the sheriff’s station by way of the old local highway not too far from where she was. She felt confident she could walk there easily.

Ava kept an eye out for Declan’s SUV as she crossed in front of the opening.

The blinding light from a vehicle turning into the hotel’s parking lot froze her in place for only a second.

Then she heard a motel door open. Troy’s worried voice called out into the night, “Ava.” She almost turned toward his voice and showed her hiding place.

The anguished sound in the single word he uttered was at war with the whispers she’d heard possibly plotting her demise. Then again, perhaps she’d misunderstood what they intended. What else could they need to do with her involving plastic? Searching her mind for an answer didn’t yield any help.

She didn’t know either way, and didn’t trust her initial feeling to remain behind and simply ask him what they’d been whispering about. She decided quickly that her gut feeling couldn’t be trusted as it was currently too closely tethered to her libido.

She forced her knees to lock. She waited as he called out her name again and twice more. Was he moving closer in this direction? She tensed.

Another swath of light shone next to the open doorway next to her hiding place. Another car or perhaps Declan returning with supplies and
plastic
. Shoulder blades pressed solidly against the motel’s brick exterior, Ava let the slight pain give her clarity. Seriously, what else could they have been talking about? No idea came forth. Not even an inkling. It was time to go.
