The next morning Shaniqua woke up before
Ronny. She looked over at him and smiled. After all the bullshit he
has put her through she was still in love with him but she didn’t
want to just jump back into a relationship with him he had to prove
to her that he was a change man and was ready to be faithful to
her. She wasn’t up for anymore of his bullshit.

She eased off the bed trying not to wake him
up and headed to the bathroom to get herself together. When she
came out Ronny was on the phone.

“Man what the fuck ever shawty… Once again,
fuck you telling me for? That ain’t my fucking problem…. Okay do
what you gotta do then… Is that a threat? Yeah, you tripping,” he
said hanging up the phone sitting on the bed with a mug on his
face. Shaniqua don’t know what the caller said but whatever it was
he didn’t like it.

She chuckled as she sat on the bed. “That
must’ve been one of your many hoes?” she asked.

Ronny looked at her and smacked his lips.
“Man don’t start all that shit Shan,” he said not in the mood for
her bullshit too.

She grabbed the remote and turned on the TV
as she laid back down. “I’m not starting anything Ronny. I was just
asking a question. We not together so why would I be starting
anything?”

He rubbed the side of his face before getting
off the bed heading to the bathroom. Minutes later, he came back
out and laid down pulling Shaniqua close to him.

“Um, when are you planning on going to get my
kids?” she asked with her eyebrow lifted.

“Shhh,” Ronny said with his eyes closed. “My
mom has them so they good,” he said.

“No Ronny, I need to go get my daughter. Now
Ray’Shun can stay but Niyah can’t be staying over there like that,”
she said moving his hand off her.

That got him up. “Why the fuck she can’t stay
over there?” he wanted to know

She looked at him as if he had two heads.
“Ronny come on now, how does that shit look? How would you feel if
I let Ray’Shun stay over Dre mama house? You know that shit ain’t
right, my son father keeping my daughter I have with another
nigga.”

“Man whatever,” he said getting off the
bed.

“You going to get her or do you want me to
go?” Shaniqua asked.

“We going together,” Ronny said.

“Going together?” She frowned. “This ain’t no
one big happy family type shit,” she said rolling her eyes.

“Stop tripping and get dressed. I have to
make a stop first.”

Shaniqua threw her hand on her hip. “I’m not
the one tripping. I leave that up to the bitch you was on the phone
with.”

Ronny turned around tilt his head and gazed
at her for a little while. “I knew it was only a matter of time
before you let some fly shit come out your mouth about me being on
the phone.”

“Whatever,” was all she could say before
going inside the bathroom to take a shower.

They pulled up to Debbie house and she was
the first one to hop out slamming the door behind her, ready to get
her daughter. She doesn’t know what’s wrong with Ronny and Debbie
being so attached to her daughter. She knocked and waited on Debbie
to open the door. She walked in and didn’t see her kids

“Where my kids at Debbie?”

“They back there sleep,” she said as Ronny
was walking in. He sat on the sofa next to Shaniqua.

“What’s up ma?” he asked.

“Hey son Willie called me today,” she said
referring to his dad. Ronny eyes widened. He hasn’t seen his father
since he was fifteen. His father was arrested of guns and drug
charges and had to serve a 10-year sentence. Just like Ronny,
Willie had the streets on lock back in his days and Ronny took on
his legacy.

“Oh yeah, when that nigga getting out?” he
asked laying back on the couch rubbing Shaniqua thigh.

Debbie looked at them with a raised brow.
“When y’all get back together?” she asked.

“We haven’t,” Shaniqua quickly said causing
Ronny to chuckle and shake his head. He loved Shaniqua but he was
tired of playing her games.

Ronny smacked his lips and rolled his eyes at
her, then turned to look back at his mother. “So when he getting
out?” he asked again.

“He got out last week,” she said and it was
as if Ronny’s whole world had stopped. Although he haven’t seen or
talked to his father in a very long time he always dreamed of the
day he would finally be released.

“What?” Ronny said smiling. “What’s his
number?” he asked as Ray’Shun walked in the living room rubbing his
eyes. He walked right up to Ronny and Ronny picked his up. “What’s
up my lil nigga?” he asked giving his son a fist pound.

“Hey daddy,” he said.

“Hey big man,” Shaniqua said taking him from
Ronny and he laid his head on her shoulder. “Your sister still
asleep?” she asked and he nodded his little head.

Debbie gave Ronny the number and watched her
son walk outside to call his father. All kind of emotions was
running through Debbie body when she received the call from Willie.
Willie was her first love and although they broke up when Ronny was
only five and she married Cornell father she had never stopped
loving Willie.

“What’s up OG?” Ronny said once his father
answered.

“Hey son. How you been?” he asked happy to
hear his son’s voice after so many years.

“I been good. How about yourself?”

“I’m living. A nigga happy as hell to be
out.”

“I know you are,” Ronny said. “Where you
staying at?”

“Out here in Jersey with your grandma Thelma
right now,” he said as Ray’Shun came walking out the door.

“Daddy, nana won’t let me play the game,” he
said.

Willie was shocked. “Daddy?”

Ronny laughed, “Yeah man, I have a four year
old.”

“Damn, so a nigga a granddaddy huh? You gotta
bring him out to see me.”

“Yeah I can do that this weekend.”

“That’s a bet. Just call me and let me know.
But right now yo ol’ man trying to get some pussy so just hit me
later,” he said and they hung up.

Ronny laughed and shook his head because he
father haven’t changed at all. Ronny mind went to the day he first
lost his virginity. He was at his dad’s house chillin when one of
his lady friends came over with her daughter. Willie introduced
them to Ronny before taking his friend to the back, leaving Ronny
and her daughter up front. Ronny was only fourteen and didn’t have
to do much talking to get the fifteen year old out her clothes.
Once she looked into those green eyes, it was over.

Ronny was in deep thoughts thinking about his
father and the fun they use to have when Shaniqua walked out with
Shaniyah and sat in the chair across from him. He looked at her and
smiled as Ray’Shun went over and started playing with Shaniyah.

She knows damn well that’s my baby,

he thought to himself. Ronny didn’t know why Shaniqua kept lying
and acting as if she couldn’t see that Shaniyah looked just like
him but he was going to play along with her and act as if he didn’t
know. The truth will come out later.

“So have you talked to ol dude since you
moved back?” Ronny asked breaking the silence.

“No.”

“Damn, that nigga haven’t even called to
check on Niyah?” he asked. Maybe he knew it wasn’t his baby
too.

“No,” she said sadly still not believe Dre
haven’t called to check on their daughter.

Ronny chuckled and shook his head. “That’s
fucked up… But aye check this, I’m going to see my pops probably
this weekend and I want y’all to come with me.”

Shaniqua raised a brow. “Why? You can take
Ray’Shun.”

“I want him to meet my family,” Ronny said
playing with one of his dreads looking her in the eyes.

She turned her head away. “Ronny you know
we’re not together, right?”

“Girl ain’t nobody thinking about you,” he
lied. “I just want him to meet the mother of my son.”

She agreed that she’d ride out there with him
and they sat on the porch talking before he took her home and left
heading to do whatever it was that he did.

Ronny decided to stay at
Shaniqua house since they had to wake up the next morning to head
to Jersey. After she feed and put the kids to sleep he and Ronny
decided to lay in bed and watch TV but Shaniqua thought it was a
good time to see what was going on between them. They had been
getting along, he had even spent a couple of nights over there, and
when he wasn’t over there they stayed on the phone for hours like
high school kids. That was the Ronny she fell in love with.

“Ronny, what’s going on between us?” Shaniqua
asked as they laid in bed cuddling.

“What you mean?”

Shaniqua turned to face him and propped up on
her elbow. “I mean, what’s going on with us? Are we just friends,
are we together or what? I mean I don’t wanna read too much into
this shit. If we’re just friend then let me know, I don’t wanna be
thinking it’s more when it’s not.”

He smiled. “You’ll never be just my friend
Shaniqua. The love I have for you will never let you be just that.
You’ll always be
WIFEY.
”

She blushed and kissed his lips. “I got my
man back,” she said between kisses causing him to laugh.

“You so silly,” he said flipping her over
positioning himself between her legs getting ready to put in some
work.

The next morning they woke up bright and
early and hit the road.

Almost eight hours later, they pulled up to a
nice flat brick house with two cars in the driveway. She saw two
older women sitting on the front porch and became nervous. She
didn’t know what she was walking into. She prayed and hoped they
weren’t anything like Debbie when she first met her,

.

Ronny got Ray’Shun out and she got Shaniyah
out her car seat.

“Hey grandma,” Ronny said walking up on the
porch.

The woman got up from her seat smiling hard;
it was obvious she was happy to see him. “Hey baby,” she said
hugging him. “It so good to see you. You just don’t come see me
anymore,” she said almost in tears looking him over before grabbing
him hugging him again.

“I’m sorry grandma,” he said smiling. “Hey
Mrs. Irene,” he said hugging the other older lady and she hugged
him back.

“And who is this handsome man looking just
like you?” she asked looking at Ray’Shun.

“I’m Ray’Shun,” Ray’Shun said causing them to
laugh.

“This is my son grandma,” Ronny said as she
grabbed him out his arms.

“I can tell; he looks just like you and
Willie. And look at those eyes,” she said kissing Ray’Shun on the
cheek.

The whole time Shaniqua stood back admiring
the old woman’s beauty. She was breathtaking. She had her curly
grey hair pulled up in a bun and her skin was flawless. However,
what had Shaniqua in a daze were those big grey eyes, the same one
her daughter had. Shaniqua couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
She looked down at her daughter then looked back at the older woman
and saw the resemblance.

“And this is the love of my life… Shaniqua,”
Ronny said smiling hugging Shaniqua.

“That’s my mama,” Ray’Shun said pointing to
her.

“Well hello the love of my grandson life and
my great-grandson mama,” she said hugging Shaniqua with her free
hand. “Is this my great-granddaughter also?” she asked with a
smile.

Ronny looked at Shaniqua to see what she was
going to say and on cue Ronny’s daddy walked out the house.
Shaniqua gave a sigh of relief.

“What’s up triple OG?” Ronny asked walking
over to his dad as they slapped hands embracing each other.

“What’s up my nigga?” his dad said looking
Ronny over.

Shaniqua stood back smiling loving the sight
she was seeing. Ronny seem to be so happy to see his dad. His dad
was taller than him, standing at 6’7 weighting about 270 full of
muscles, the same complexion as Ronny, he sported a curly fro that
was taped up nice on the sides and a thin mustache and those same
damn green eyes as Ronny and Ray’Shun.

After their long hug, Ronny introduced his
dad to Ray’Shun as well as Shaniqua and Shaniyah and his dad
accepted them with open arms.

They all went inside the house and talked for
hours. They asked questions about Shaniyah and Shaniqua quickly
explained that she and Ronny were broken up when she had her. They
made little comments saying she looked as if she belongs in their
family but Shaniqua only laughed and brushed it off.

They spent the whole weekend at Ronny grandma
house and she and Shaniyah fell in love with one another.

They weekend had flew by and it was Sunday
and time for them to head out.

“Well I enjoyed meeting you Grandma Thelma.”
She had insisted on Shaniqua calling her Grandma Thelma.

“I enjoyed you too baby,” she said hugging
Shaniqua.

She then turned to Willie. “I enjoyed you too
Daddy Willie,” she hugged him also. She really did enjoy meeting
him.

“I enjoyed you too gorgeous,” he said hugging
her back. “And keep this knucklehead nigga out of trouble,” he
said.

“I’ll try,” she said as she got in the
car.

Ronny hugged his grandma and promised her he
wouldn’t let it be years before she sees him again before turning
to his dad

“Man, you have to cone visit me.”

“Yeah you know I’m down. Just let me know
when,” Willie said. “I need to come back to claim my throne
anyways,” he said laughing.

“Nigga please. I got that shit on lock,”
Ronny let him know as they hit hands.

“You just make sure you are careful,” his dad
said.

“Fo’ sho,” Ronny said before sliding in the
truck.

“Tell Cornell I said what’s up. And don’t
forget to tell yo mama what I said,” he said smiling.

Ronny shook his head. “Yeah I got you pops,”
he said before backing out the driveway and heading home.

Shaniqua was still shocked after finding out
pretty eyes runs in Ronny’s family. His grandma said most of the
males in the family have green eyes while the females had grey
eyes. She also let her know that that’s how the men in the family
could tell if they fathered a female child because of the baby
eyes. She laughed and still tried to convince herself that Shaniyah
was Dre’s baby. Hell, she’d even watched Ronny put on a condom so
she knew there was no way in hell she was his baby.
