“No bitch we’re not gonna fight! I’ma whoop yo ass!”

“Aren’t you forgetting somethin’ you silly bitch?”

Angelique raised her eyebrows, “And what is that?”

“YOU’RE PREGNANT BITCH!!” Dallas screamed into the phone.

“SO THE FUCK WHAT?!” Angelique screamed back. “You bold enough to see my nigga! Be bold enough to see me!”

The phone went silent. Neither woman spoke for what seemed like an eternity.

Dallas finally broke the silence, “Ok bitch. You wanna get your ass beat, so I’ll grant your wish. You think I’m this soft serve bitch but I’ma show your crazy ass jus’ how gangsta I can get!”

“Jus’ have your ass there in an hour so I can slam your pretty little face into the sink.” Angelique threatened.

“Oh, I’ll be there and I’ll be sure to put some butter on the door way so you can squeeze your big rectangular ass through it.” Dallas taunted.

Angelique hung up the phone and smiled to herself. In an hour she would be locked in a public bathroom one on one with her worst enemy. Damn life was good. She couldn’t wait to wrap her hands around Dallas’s scrawny little throat.

But for now-she was going to buy a pair of tear drop diamond ear rings and get her diamond necklace steam cleaned.

Father Figure

It was two weeks until Angelique’s due date and I was nervous as hell. I read all the baby books I could get my hands on to pass the time, but I still felt like I was unprepared. I knew to lay the baby on its side so the child wouldn’t choke to death. I knew to hold the baby up under the chin when you burped it. I even knew to tape a silver dollar over the belly button so it wouldn’t stick out like a door knob. On paper I was ready, but in reality I was sweating bullets at the thought of being a first time father.

One thing was for sure. I would be a trillion times better to my child than my punk ass sperm donor had been to me. I was as happy as a project family with a winning lottery ticket because Diego was sentenced to 25 to life in prison. I made sure of it by dropping off an anonymous briefcase filled with 300,000 dollars to a certain judge. I paid his clerk 5,000 dollars to make sure he got it. That was the best money I ever spent.

Keeping my family safe was my number one priority and I definitely felt a little safer knowing he was behind bars. Now, if he pressed me or tried to send some rent a thugs after me and mine-I would arrange for his throat to be slashed in the shower.

I had the house to myself for the afternoon. Angelique just called me on her phone to let me know that after she got her necklace cleaned she was going shoe shopping at the Crenshaw Mall. I asked her to pick me up a pair of limited edition yellow Jordan’s. Being addicted to shoes wasn’t just a woman’s problem. I had over 200 pairs of brand new sneakers in my closet.

Ding Ding

Before I got out my car I put Vaseline on my face, put my hair up in a pony tail, tied my Nike Shocks, and took off all my jewelry. It was five minutes to three so I hurried up and walked my round ass inside the mall. I had tunnel vision as I hiked through the shopping center. My eyes were straight ahead and the only person I was checking for was Dallas Mitchell.

I made a left and proceeded down the long hallway toward the rest rooms. I hadn’t seen my weak ass opponent yet. Maybe she was waiting on me to walk in. I thought I heard someone calling my name, but when I turned around nobody was there. I took a deep breath and walked inside. To my surprise Dallas was already there leaning against the towel dispenser. She was wearing a black running suit with matching Reeboks. Her hair was also pulled back in a ponytail and there weren’t any earrings in her ears either. The white sink served as a make shift night stand with her purse sitting on top.

“Damn, you are fat.” Dallas pointed at her stomach.

I didn’t respond to the insult. I just casually turned on the faucet and rinsed my hands. I didn’t bother drying them off because a wet slap, or punch stung much more than a dry one. There was only about 15 feet between us and that short distance was becoming smaller by the second as I walked briskly toward Dallas. Pushing herself off the dispenser Dallas didn’t wait for me to reach her. She charged full speed ahead darting a right jab at my face that barely missed my forehead. Dallas swung again with her left hand which I caught in midair. The weight advantage went to me, and I used that to my benefit driving the lighter Dallas backward and slamming her body into the dingy wall. Dallas grabbed the end of my ponytail and yanked my head down. Her downward tug was halted when I countered by grabbing her tightly around the neck then squeezed with both hands. Dallas tried her best to snatch my hair from the roots, but the grip on her neck was breath taking.

She struggled to breathe as my damp hands constricted her throat and pinched her Adams apple. I was trying to choke her to death and I was slowly succeeding. Dallas tried desperately to break the strangle hold by grabbing my wrists, but that only made the deathly grip tighter. Her face was beginning to turn red. Panic started to out run reason as she fought for a little sip of oxygen. My teeth were clinched as I put all my strength in my two hands and choked the shit out of Dallas.

“I’ll kill you bitch! I’ll fuckin’ murder your ass!”

Death was right around the corner for Dallas so her body automatically went into survival mode. Instinctively she rammed her knee into the bottom of my protruding stomach sending a certified message of excruciating pain thru my entire body.

At that moment the bathroom door swung open and the next thing I knew a man was pulling me off her. My body was lifted in the air with me kicking and screaming at the top of my lungs.

“GET THE FUCK OFF ME!!! GET THE FUCK OFF MEEEEEE!!!”

I tried to pry the man’s forearms from around my breasts.

“Calm down! Calm down Angelique! Shit!”

The strong referee carried me into a tiny stall and finally sat me down inside. Once I was on my feet, I turned around quickly and immediately recognized the owner of those bear like forearms.

“What the hell are you doin’ here Sway?”

Sway looked over at a winded Dallas and then returned his gaze to his pissed off hostage.

“What the fuck you doin’ fightin’ in a bathroom? You’re eight months pregnant!” He threw his hands up.

“So what! I was winning until you came along and saved that hoe!”

“Yeah, and I’m glad I did. I can’t have my

Godchild comin’ out all fucked up cuz you can’t handle your temper! You’re a mother now Angie! You can’t be doin’ shit like this!”

“Fuck that bitch! I can’t stand her ass!” I screamed.

Dallas finally spoke up, “Fuck you you plump ass bitch! Let her ass out Sway! Let her out!”

I tried to maneuver out of the small stall but Sway’s wide body was blocking the exit.

“I’ma need you to calm down Angie. Dallas, you leave first, cuz I don’t want yall scrappin’ in the food court.”

Dallas rolled her eyes and snatched her purse off the sink. She inspected herself in the mirror noticing blotches of red skin along the front of her neck.

“Whatever. Jus’ keep that psychotic bitch away from me.”

Dallas started to walk out, but stopped when she reached the door.

“I shoulda know you wasn’t woman enough to come by yourself. You scary ass bitch.”

After saying that Dallas immediately left the musky smelling bathroom.

“I’m not woman enough? What the fuck! Bitch I did come up in this muthufucka all by my lonely.

You got me twisted hoe! I aint scared of you! I’ll wipe the….”

Sway interrupted my rant, “She’s gone Angie.”

He finally backed up allowing me to leave the cramped stall. I looked like I’d just come from the gym with a little perspiration glistening on my cinnamon colored forehead.

“How in the world did you know I was here anyway?” I asked folding my arms.

“I saw you come in here. I called your name, but I guess you didn’t hear me. So I waited for you in the hallway but then I heard all the commotion so I came in.”

“Yeah you heard me whoopin’ her ass.” My facial expression changed.

“Are you ok?” Sway asked looking me over.

“Yeah I’m fine, but my stomach is killing me.”

The adrenaline was starting to wear off and the full strength of the pain was starting to take over. I walked slowly over to the sink holding my aching stomach. Splashing cold water on my face I sighed heavily. With closed eyes I tried to handle the immense pains that were shooting through my stomach and lower back like comets. Sway went to get a paper towel to wipe my face. When he turned around he noticed a huge red blotch staining the center of my cream stretch pants. The spot was getting bigger and bigger and a red river was beginning to snake down my inner thigh.

“You’re bleeding!” Sway rushed over to me.

I stared at Sway and a look of horror swept over my face. Suddenly a paralyzing sting shot through my abdomen and I braced myself against the sink to keep from collapsing. Sway embraced me as my weak knees gave out.

“It hurts Sway!”

Tears began to fill my eyes and my tongue felt like sand paper.

“It hurts so bad. Ughhhhhh uuhhhhmmmee.” I moaned.

I laid her gently on the tile floor. My eyes quickly shifted to her crotch area and what he saw made my heart start beating faster. It looked like her entire lower half had been dipped in ketchup. Blood completely soaked her inner thighs all the way down to her ankles.

“Damn damn damn. I gotta get you to a hospital! I’ma call the ambulance! Shit!”

I looked at Angelique’s face and her eyes were closed.

“Angelique! Angelique! Angelique!” I shook her face frantically.

“Come on! Come on! Angelique come on wake up!”

I put my face to her nose and I immediately reached for my cell phone in my back pocket to dialed 911. The monotone operator answered my call.

“911 what’s your emergency?”

“Yeah. I got a pregnant woman here and she’s lost a lot of blood and she’s unconscious!”
