Chapter 10
Reed’s pulse raced at the thought of the Hannah and Josh. This was it. Everything he’d wanted and more.
Hannah stood in front of him, her teeth biting into her plump lip, like she did when she was nervous. Her chestnut hair curled in disarray around her face, emphasizing her curious, yet heated, slate eyes.
Josh stood on her other side, clenching his fists. Whether in frustration from this situation or from the sexual variety, Reed didn’t know. But he hoped it was the latter. His normally spiky brown hair lay down on one side, looking like he’d just got out of bed. His blue eyes stared into Reed’s soul.
Shit, Reed knew he had to be the luckiest guy on earth.
He couldn’t believe they actually said they’d think about a threesome in real life—and not just in the bedroom. Happiness practically burst from every pore. Even though the situation they were in—kidnapping, bullets, basements, and borrowed cabins—made it seem inappropriate, he couldn’t quite gather up the nerve to feel bad about it.
Reed watched Hannah bounce on the balls of her feet then lick her lips, anxiousness mixing with her nervousness for what was to come. He looked over at Josh’s forearms, the veins popping out of the muscles. Damn that human was strong. Reed could imagine Hannah using her tongue and teeth and Josh using that strength in other areas—particularly on Reed.
Hell, yeah.
Josh coughed. “Um, so how should we go about doing this?”
All three of them laughed.
“Oh, I can tell this is going to be fun.” Reed smiled then walked to Hannah and framed her face in his hands.
Her pupils dilated, and her breath quickened.
He heard the rustle of clothing as Josh moved behind him. Reed’s cock hardened almost to the point of pain at the thought of Josh and Hannah together, then both of them with him.
His gaze lowered to her lips as her tongue darted out and licked them. He inhaled her honey and crisp apple scent, the aroma rocking him to the bone.
“Kiss her then kiss him. This is it.”
He couldn’t agree more with his wolf. Reed bent and touched his lips to hers. A shock rushed through his system. Her taste. Dear God, her taste. She tasted just like her scent but more potent. Her soft lips slid against his, and he groaned. Her lips parted, and his wolf growled. Her hands roamed his back, hesitantly at first, then firmer as she got into the kiss more. He tilted his head, deepening the kiss, sucking on her tongue and drowning in her taste.
Knowing he only meant this to be an initial kiss, and not wanting to leave Josh out, he forced himself to lift his lips from hers. He panted and looked down at her pouty, swollen lips as her eyes slowly opened.
“Oh my.” Her voice had deepened with sexual energy.
Sexy as hell.
He held her in his arms, watching her breathe rapidly. Josh came to their side and brushed a lock of hair out of Hannah’s face. Hannah moved her gaze from him to Josh, her body pulsating in Reed’s arms.
Surprisingly, Reed felt no jealousy watching Hannah’s eyelids lower with desire as she looked at Josh. Reed himself wanted to groan at the look of pure promise and ecstasy on the man’s face. With only a slight reluctance, in that he wanted to hold the both of them forever, he loosened his grip on Hannah as she pivoted fully into Josh’s arms.
Hannah tilted her head up, and Reed watched as Josh lowered his face and kissed her. Both of his mates, together. Perfection. Josh bit her lip and growled.
Fuck, the human was damn sexy.
Josh kissed harder than he had. He seemed to put his whole body into the action, grinding against her and sucking her lips, then nibbling to take his fill. Hannah moaned and squirmed against him, much like she had with Reed.
Reed had to adjust himself as his erection pushed painfully into his zipper. This was going to be amazing—the three of them. An unknown feeling swept over him…completion? Suddenly, Reed knew he wanted this more than anything he’d ever known or seen. He’d never heard of threesomes as a fixture in daily life and not just in the bedroom in the Pack. Would they accept them? Did he care? This was fate. He couldn’t argue with fate, nor could he argue with how he felt and how the three of them acted around one another. No, this was for real. The Pack would have to learn to adjust.
“Stop over thinking everything. It will work out. These two are keepers. Now, shut up and watch them go at it. Nice, isn’t it?”
Reed smiled at his wolf. Yeah, they were keepers for sure.
Hannah gasped into Josh’s mouth, and Reed groaned.
Fuck yeah
. They pulled apart, breathing heavily.
“I think I need to sit down.” Hannah backed herself to the couch and sat down, out of breath.
He and Josh reached for her at the same time and the other man’s hand ended up in his. Josh tried to pull away, but Reed wouldn’t let him. The other man tensed, his hand freezing in his, but relaxed after a moment.
Hannah looked at them both then smiled. “I’m fine, really. I just had the two best kisses of my life.” She let out a giggle. “They were different but so amazing. So perfect.” Her gaze traveled down their bodies, leaving a trail of heat and desire, before landing on their joined hands. Her tongue reached out and licked her lips.
Reed looked at Josh, studying his strong features. His lips weren’t as full as Hannah’s or his, but still looked edible. He reached up with his other hand and brushed an unruly lock of hair from Josh’s forehead. Why did he have such long hair up top if he was a military man? He’d have to ask that sometime.
“Kiss him,”
his wolf growled.
“Have you ever kissed a man before?” Reed needed to know. Josh said he’d never found another man attractive so Reed guessed the answer. He just needed to hear it.
Josh let out a surprised laugh. “Can’t say that I have.”
Reed nodded, squeezing his hand. “I’m going to kiss you now.”
Josh looked toward Hannah and gave her a small, sexy smile.
Hannah laughed. “If you two kiss each other the way you just kissed me, I may just die watching.”
Josh knelt beside Hannah and in front of Reed. Josh smiled again. “I have a better idea. Why don’t I kiss you?”
Reed widened his eyes as Josh pulled him by the back of his neck over Hannah’s legs and crushed his mouth to his.
Sweet ponderosa pine burst on his tongue. Teeth clashed against teeth, as Josh thrust his tongue in and out of his mouth. Reed groaned as an overwhelming sexual fog took over, weakening his already weak resolve.
Dear God, I could live on Josh’s and Hannah’s taste alone.
He held onto Josh like a drowning man, playing an intricate game of war with their tongues and lips. Reed pulled back then bit into the fleshy part of Josh’s lip. Hard. Then he soothed the sting as Josh’s eyes widened.
Oh, they would have to see which of the two of them would be dominant. If either. It would be arousing as hell to take turns and then both take Hannah—together. He almost came in his jeans at the thought.
They pulled apart again, breathing heavily, much like they had with their kisses with Hannah. His wolf howled in utter bliss and contentment, and Reed wanted to join in.
All three of them looked at each other then burst out laughing, the tension from the unknown dissolving away. Tears leaked from their eyes as their laughter grew.
“I’m sorry,” Hannah gasped through her laughter. “I don’t want to laugh. But I was afraid it’d be awkward.”
“It’s not awkward. I thought it would be, but it was damn good,” Josh added in.
“Hell, yeah. We should do it again,” Reed agreed.
“Hey, it was totally worth it.” Josh smiled, then got a wicked gleam in his eye. “Best guy kiss ever.”
Reed punched him in the arm. Josh’s eyes widened, as he rubbed the spot.
“You sure do pack a punch for a little guy,” Josh practically leered.
“Uh, dude, I’m a werewolf. And only like an inch shorter than you.”
Hannah giggled. “Yeah, this won’t be complicated at all.”
“Hey,” Reed interjected, “we can do it. Fate’s cool like that.”
“Reed, man, you sound like an old man trying to use slang.” Josh laughed.
“Hey, I
am
an old man.”
All three dissolved into laughter.
This felt good. Like family. His family.
A soft crunching, like snow under a paw, reached Reed’s ears, interrupting his peace. Hannah froze, her eyes wide.
“The wards. Someone’s breached the wards.”
Josh grunted, closing his eyes in pain, and grabbed his arm.
“Fuck, my Finding’s back—I think.”
All three jumped to their feet, ready to fight.
Their time in their forest oasis faded away. Back to reality and the dangers that hunted them.
Chapter 11
A howl broke through their uncomfortable silence. Shit, Josh didn’t think their interlude from danger would end this fast. But he should have been expecting it, been prepared. Now instead of thinking about the aftereffects of kissing the two most important people in his life—and likening it—he had to fight. Maybe to the death.
He wanted—no, needed—to protect Hannah and Reed, no matter what. Though how he’d accomplish that, he didn’t know. He was the weakest of the three of them by far. An uncomfortable and unfamiliar feeling settled in the pit of his stomach. He’d have to get used to it if they stayed in this odd three-way relationship.
Did they really need him for anything? Would they just walk away when they realized he had nothing really to give? And what would happen when Reed, and maybe even Hannah for all he knew of witches, stayed young forever, and Josh grew old? He knew humans could be turned into werewolves but he’d heard the horror stories of the change. Would he have to turn into a wolf?
Another howl, this time closer. Thoughts warred in his mind, but he shook them off. Not the time to be thinking about relationships. He had to bear down and go back to his training. It was what he was good at.
Hannah stood beside him, with her palms held outward and fingers spread.
“Do you have enough, you know, juice, or whatever?” Wow, he really needed to brush up on his magical knowledge.
Hannah smiled, nervous tension evident in her eyes. “Yes, I have enough. I’m near the earth, and that’s why I meditated before. Plus the kiss helped.” She blushed and lowered her eyes.
Reed exhaled. “I’d heard that sex increases some witches’ powers. Good to know.”
Is that right? If so, we’ll have to work on that.
Reed planted his feet, ready for battle. “Something just brushed along a tree outside.”
“Shit,” Josh cursed. “I don’t want to be surrounded in this cabin; I think we need to go outside.”
Reed nodded. “I agree. Let’s go outside and take the fight to them.”
Josh tilted his head, his focus on the two who called themselves his mates. “And if it’s too much...” He let his voice fade, unable to voice the all-too-real possibility they would die once they crossed the threshold.
