Not being normal had never felt so good as it did right now on this little dock, curled in Liam’s arms. According to Rueben I may not have a happily ever after, but this sure felt like a stolen moment of one to me.

Wow, where to even begin! It seems like every acknowledgement gets longer and longer. I hope you guys don’t mind.
To my amazing cover artist, Neil Noah. Your tireless patience is greatly appreciated, and your cover is absolutely amazing. You nailed it! I can’t imagine finding someone who can figure out my mindless ramblings and multiple emails of ideas better than you. Thank you!
To Kara Malinczak, part ninja and part editor. You, my friend, are the reason that I have any hope of making sense in these books I write. You have such a keen eye and your blunt honesty helps so much. Without you, God only knows what rabbit trails my characters would run down. Thanks for keeping my plot in line and my characters honest. You da bomb, and your next butterbeer is on me.
I have been blessed with so many friends, but Hope Collier, you are my Cosmic Twinkie and sanity. You’re the reason I keep writing down my crazy ideas, and I thank you for always making me think you’re just a little crazier than me. If we stick together, we won’t have to have awkward conversations with random people in public. ::insert awkward hug here::
To Darren, Jeremy, Judy, Jake, and Aaron, who are my “clan.” You guys are the reprieve I need when I step away from my writing. Thanks for always including me in the party, even when my K/D Ratio on Call of Duty makes us single-handedly lose matches. You’re all awesome. And to Julie, who’s always patient when I halfway tell a story while in the middle of battle, thanks for waiting five minutes for me to finish a sentence. You’re much more patient than I could ever be.
To EVERY. SINGLE. READER. You guys are the reason I write. You have no idea how humbling and awesome it is to receive your messages. Your requests for more of Ashlyn’s world spurred this book on. I hope it does your expectations justice, and please know that I appreciate the time you take to send me emails. It’s the best part of my day.
To my husband, Matt. Wow, how can I even begin? Your patience and willingness to go on Daddy Duty while I play with the imaginary people in my head is astounding. I’m pretty sure anyone else would have had me committed a long time ago. You’re my biggest encouragement and partner. I couldn’t do this without you by my side, and I love you.
Mom, you’re my #1 fan. I can’t tell you how much it means to me for you to cheer me on in all my endeavors. Mamaw, you’re amazing, and all the afternoons you were willing to steal Carter away for a few hours so that I could write were appreciated beyond any measurable amount I could begin to explain. For the two of you, your love and support has never been unappreciated, but after Carter, I can much more adequately say that I understand and value your support far more than I could have before. I love you.
To the amazing bands that spur on my muse: Bon Iver, The Black Keys, Muse, Adele, Vampire Weekend, The Spill Canvas, and many more. Music = Love.
And to Carter…Mommy loves you more than you could ever imagine.
