As Thyme slowly descended down the stairs, she thought of all the blessings she had in her life. Sure, there was rejection from her parents, from Sophia, even from her body refusing to carry a child, but she also had love.

Before she stepped outside, Sage blocked her path with an uncomfortable expression on her face. “Thyme. About the baby thing.”

Baby thing? While she’d never call her sister completely heartless, and she did dote on Owen and especially Maddie with gifts, still, Sage and children were incongruous to each other.

“It will all work out. I’m going to…I have a plan.”

Thyme snorted. “Sage. I appreciate your impeccable planning skills. I mean, my wedding is one for the magazines, but this is something even your excellent connections can’t take care of.”

“Don’t count your losses just yet. Now go get your Prince Charming before he realizes he’s in love with the wrong sister.” Sage bussed a quick kiss to her cheek before walking down the aisle with Rayne. Thyme’s heart swelled with love.

Love from her sisters who had become her best friends. Love from a little girl who was excited to start calling her Mom. Love from the most perfect man in the world.

Yes, Thyme Wilde had found love in the most unexpected places. First came the job of a lifetime. Next came Maddie. Then came Grayson.

Acknowledgements

Special thanks goes to Therese Arkenberg for helping me write the best book I possibly can, and for being nitpicky and gracious and so incredibly awesome.

To my friends and family, who encourage me and say all the right things about my writing, making me feel warm and fuzzy and like a famous person. And who ask for my autograph even though I see you every day.

To my family, for doing your best to ignore me when I’m in my writing zone. Granted, you get away with a heck of a lot when Mommy is distracted—soda for breakfast, cookies for lunch, cereal for dinner—but I appreciate it all the same.

To my husband, who is hoping the next book will mean he can retire, and for telling his friends about my work, even though he’s only read my first book (you’re three books behind, honey).

I love you all. Thank you for making my dreams become a reality.

About the Author

Marianne Rice writes contemporary romances set in small New England towns. Her heroes are big and strong, yet value family and humor, while her heroines her smart, sexy, sometimes a little bit sassy, and are often battling a strong internal conflict. Together, they deal with real life issues and always,
always,
find everlasting love. When she’s not writing, Marianne spends her time buying shoes, eating chocolate, chauffeuring her herd of children to their varying sporting events, and when there’s time, cuddling with her husband, a drink in one hand, a romance book in the other.
