“That’s all that I needed to hear,” he said with a low growl, the bear coming out slightly as he did so. Picking her up off the floor, he carried her to the bed, tossing her on the bed and then kicking off his runners and peeling out of his soaking wet clothes. When she lay back and spread her legs wide for him, he grinned, licked his lips, and growled. “Oh, baby, don’t you know that we bears love honey and you, darling.” He licked his rough tongue over her inner thigh.

“Baby, you are sweeter than honey,” he stated simply before he blew over her mound, smiling as the skin prickled there. “God, baby, you are so responsive,” he told her before he closed his mouth over her clit and suckled hard, determined to make good use of his alone time with his bond-mate while he could.

Moving his fingers in and out of her body, Mac was determined for her to come for him at least once. He needed to feel her orgasm, wanted to feel her pleasure to replace the sadness that he had walked in on earlier. He knew that the others were giving him this space with her and he was grateful.

Kat arched her back and fisted the bedding under her. Lifting a leg, she put it up and over his back, pulling him closer as she did so. “Mac.” She panted. She was so close, but she wanted to feel him deep inside of her body. She wanted to climax around him.

“No, baby, let go.” He knew his little bond-mate and knew that she was pushing for him to be there, encased in her sheath instead of letting go and flying like he wanted. “Come for me, baby.” He growled, the vibrations that the bear made rumbling against her clit along with his tongue lashing against it. Adding a third finger into her tight sheath, he began to work on her body faster and harder until he felt her patience snap and heard her scream.

Moving up her body, licking the sweet honey of her orgasm from his lips as he did so, he grinned down at her. “See, was that so hard, baby?”

“You are killing me,” she whispered with a smile. “But God, what a way to go.” She wrapped her legs around his hips, pulling him closer, deeper. “You feel so good,” she whispered honestly. He did. Even though the previous night she had all three of them in her, today she was sensitive and he still felt so large inside of her.

“I’m trying to go slow here, baby,” he said as he dropped his forehead to hers and pushed in a little more. “But you are killing me slowly here,” he said with a grin and dropped a kiss to her lips. “Hold on, baby,” he whispered and then moved to lift her hips and pushed hard and deep, filling her completely in that one move.

Holding still while she adjusted to his body was akin to torture. The looks that fluttered across her face were killing him but when her pussy clenched his cock, he couldn’t help but pull out and push back in, rippling and growling as he did so. The velvet hold she had on his cock made his bear sit up and take notice, made him want to plunder, made him want to mate and keep her.

When his body began to pump in and out of hers harder and faster Katherine held on. It wasn’t painful. It was instead so very pleasurable that she heard herself screaming more than once. Her nails raked his back and she held on. Even with his growls she wasn’t afraid of him. When she felt him biting her neck again at the shoulder, she screamed and her vision wavered, her orgasm so intense she blacked out from it.

Holding her tight as he came, his body shooting his seed deep, Mac felt his eyes rolling back in his head from the pleasure. Shuddering hard, he collapsed over her and tried to get a breath back into his body. Pressing up on his arms slightly, he nuzzled at her neck before forcing his head up to look at her. “Katherine?” he murmured with a frown. Touching her chin, he rolled her face toward him and smiled at the faint snore. Poor little bond-mate had passed out.

Chapter Twenty-One

When Katherine finally came back from her nap
she was greeted with the sight of several huge men in her living room. Stopping on the second step from the bottom, she still barely reached their shoulders and said, “Holy smokes, you guys are almost as big as Talon.” She saw Quincy and smiled. “Hello, Quincy.”

“Princess,” he said with a grin and bowed to her, shooting her a wink to let her know he was teasing as he did so. “These are Talon’s royal guards.” He gestured to the men beside him. “They are also our Beta team,” he explained. “And yes, they are both dragons, and yes, that does make Talon the king of the Dragons.” His eyes twinkled with amusement.

“Keep it up, puppy, and I’m going to beat you,” Talon said with a growl.

“Hey, he’s no puppy, so don’t even go there,” Trey said and moved to his mate. Wrapping his arm around her middle, he looked up into her happy face and smiled. “Did you sleep well, darling?”

A blush stole over her cheeks but she nodded. “I really did.” She leaned into him and accepted the kiss he gave her and then sighed when they parted. “Goodness,” she breathed happily. “You boys just get better and better,” she whispered.

She looked at the large men and frowned. “Why are you all draped in weapons?” She might be a little slow, but now that she saw them she wanted to know. Now.

“Because the council has ordered a meeting. They are demanding to meet you, Katherine,” Talon said as he approached her. “I’m so sorry. I truly wish I could get you more time to acclimate to your new position, but there is no time.” He looked to Trey and when the man nodded, offered his hand to Katherine. “They are doubting that you are who you are,” he explained to her as she slipped her hand into his far larger one. “However, once you step into the chamber of the council of Gaia, all will be shown.” He nodded to Mac and Sully as well.

Katherine took in the look of the men. They were dressed in black flack uniforms, all wearing military-issue combat boots and each and every single one of them looking absolutely deadly. “Then why the show of force?”

“Because, kitten, sometimes a show of force is needed to slap their asses back down. They have held the power of the Fae for far too long and they don’t want to give it up, especially the lower-level council members that don’t have a true royal line,” Sully said in a low growl. “The royals from the Bears and Wolves will be there in force as well. You are bond-mate to sons of the royal families, and while we might be second or third in line, we are still in the line of succession and that makes what we want important to them.” Add to it that it would tie the three lines, well, that was another thing.

“They have gotten used to the power and don’t want to give it up.” She understood that. While she had slept she had dreamt. She had learned a great deal in her dream but she would think on all of that later. She looked up to Talon. “And what are your thoughts?”

“I think that it’s a very good thing that you have been found. It’s far past time for the Fae to wake. I for one truly believe that it’s because the pixies, brownies, elves, and so on have had to sleep away for the last nearly six hundred years that our planet has begun to hurt. I think that you are Gaia’s last hope, Katherine Douglas,” he stated bluntly.

She felt the full force of that truth and pressed a hand to her chest and breathed in deeply. “Wow. Nothing like putting that on a girl, too.” She shook her head though and then said, “Well, then, let’s go and prove that I guess I am who I am, huh?”

“Absolutely, Majesty,” Talon said, and to his guards, “Guard her with your life. Until her royal guards are found and trained by your hands I want her protected.” He heard growls all around and held up his hand. “Shut the fuck up. I’m the ranking member here. I am your king. Do what I tell you or else I’m going to wear you for fucking shoes.” To Katherine he said, “Sorry, they just get me so angry.” And to her bond-mates he added, “And the three of you need to back off. You will have your hands full trying to keep her safe as well. Accept the help, dammit.”

Nodding to the group, he said, “Now, have we stopped our bitching and moaning, nancy-boys, or should Queen Katherine and I leave you here?”

Answering growls came but finally it was Trey who said, “Just because you are our CO and you are the ranking royal, do not for one moment think that we like this. This one time we will let you take lead with our bond-mate, and that’s because we know just exactly what a fucking cluster this is going to be,” he said with a growl. “But call me a nancy-boy again and I’m going to call you to the mats again.”

Talon laughed and shook his head. “You got lucky the one time, Trey.” He looked down at Katherine and explained. “Training mats. Nothing insidious about it at all.” Taking in a deep breath, he said, “All right, hold onto your panties, boys.” Pulling upon the power of the dragon, the power of his lineage as a royal and member of the council, he murmured the words that demanded entrance to the council chambers. The chambers that were one of their most protected of places. “Mise, Talon, Rí agus Rialtóir na an Dragans rud a ordú sin an Fial is ardaigh na an Dorchla oscailt amach chun an Comhairle Dlísheomraí na an Ríochas, láithreach bonn.”

Katherine felt a buzz. It was like static electricity that raced up and down her spine, across her body and hair. She looked to the men and saw them all shift their stances, all of them with hands on weapons, and couldn’t help but step in closer to Talon as she did so. When a purple vortex that looked like a tornado lying down appeared before them, she was shocked that her living room didn’t turn into shambles, but then even more so when Talon pulled her into the inky darkness of the corridor. Wind whipped at her hair. She felt it tugging at her jeans but nothing could have prepared her for what happened next.

Moving when Talon tugged her along, she stepped out onto a soft carpet of grass. The scents of Mother Nature in her glory surrounded her and she lifted her face to what she was sure was the sun, but really couldn’t be since they were in a cave. She felt the texture of Talon’s shirt sleeve change and frowned. Looking at him she felt her eyes widen. “Why in heaven’s name are you in armor?” It looked almost like medieval armor, but looked to be made of scales.

“This is my royal garb, Highness,” he said with a respectful bow of his head. “When you enter the council chambers the clothing that Gaia first encased your line in is what you are morphed into, for lack of a better explanation.” Looking down at her, he smiled. “And you are a remarkably beautiful queen,” he whispered. “There can be no doubt as to who you are,” he murmured and looked to the others. Whispering down against her ear, he added, “Gaia left the Fae barefoot. Not because she wanted you harmed but because she needed you to spread life.” He looked down pointedly. “Grass hasn’t grown in the council chambers for nearly six hundred years.”

Katherine looked down at herself and gasped. “Holy crap, this is so not what I just had on.” She had been dressed in jeans and a sweater with tennis shoes, but now, holy crap on a cracker! She lifted the gauzy edge of the gown she was wearing and looked to Talon. “Please tell me that I’m at least decent.”

Talon laughed and nodded. “Yes, Queen Katherine, you are covered.” She wore the crown of the Fae, a crown that hadn’t been seen since Mab removed herself from the world. The crown that held the first flowers that Gaia placed on the Earth. The simple daisy chain-type style was perfect for the white-blonde hair of the woman that stood beside him.

“Council members,” Talon said to each of the men and women there, gaining their attention and hushing them as he did so. “As you see, I was not telling a lie. There was a lost heir to the throne of the Fae. May I present to you Katherine, Queen of the Fae.”

There was a massive roar. Between the angry shouts and the even angrier and nastier rebuttals it made her head hurt. “Good heavens!” she screamed. “Like a bunch of two-year-olds yelling at each other.” she muttered. “I certainly hope that you all get along better than how it seems you are or else there is some serious crap happening outside of these walls, and that honestly makes me more than a little nervous.”

It was the Bear king that approached her first. A smile on his lips, he bowed to her. “It is good to have the Ear of Truth back among us.” Baring his neck to her, he placed his sword at her feet. “You are bond-mate to my nephews. As such, you are family, but you are more. If you ever have need of the Bears, whisper my name and we will be there,” he said simply.

“Uhm, okay?” She didn’t get it. Holy crap, she didn’t understand anything that was happening.

“It’s a sign of respect,” Talon whispered. “He is baring his neck to you and offering you his sword to remove his head should he ever fail you. It’s a good thing.” To his longtime friend he smiled. “Thank you, Theodore,” he murmured. “She has only just learned who she is and we will all need to teach her. There is much for her to learn.”

“Of course,” he said as he rose to his feet. The man was impressive. Holy Christ, he was a huge man, and she could see Mac and Sully in him as well. She smiled at that thought.

“I’m very pleased to meet you,” she said and offered her hand to him.

Taking the hand, Theodore, the Bear King, kissed the inside of her wrist and glanced to his nephews and winked. He had to tweak their noses sometimes. “Have the cubs bring you by our home sometime. Their aunt would like to meet you,” he said and pulled back.

Before she could say anything another huge man stepped up. He was dressed in black from head to toe, with fur trim. How odd, but not. Not really. She watched as he dropped to his knee as Theodore had and said, “It is good that the Fae will once more help our world flourish.” Again he bared his neck to her. “Should you ever have need of the Wolves, we will be there.” He looked to Trey and then back to her. “My heir is your bond-mate. Our armies are yours to command, my queen.”

Okay!
So she was panicking. What did you say to something like that? “Thank you?”
Etiquette lessons never, ever covered something like this. Ever!

Thankfully she was saved by Trey. God, she was so going to kiss him for this.

“Thank you, Father,” Trey said as he stood at her side, her other bond-mates taking a step behind them.

“Of course, Trey.” The man bowed and stood, lifting his sword and placing it back into the scabbard as he did so.
