Deanna yawned and stretched. Her eyes fluttered open, and she was startled to see her mate leaning over her, his face inches from hers.
“Umm, morning.”
Casey stroked her cheek. “You okay, kitten?”
She groaned. “For the last time, yes!”
After the… incident, Casey had barely allowed her to be on her own. It was a fight to actually be allowed to go to the bathroom without him watching. Showering and bathing together – that she could get on board with,
but anything else that goes on in the bathroom should remain a mystery
.
At that moment, the majority of Deanna’s family were staying at the Alpha’s house. Rosalee, Adam’s mate and the female Alpha, insisted, and Adam didn’t object. No one was keen to stay in the Hardison family house that night; they needed to repaint the kitchen and living room… too many bloodstains. Tess had been a little hysterical and spent the night in hospital. However, Casey had dragged Deanna back to his house.
Casey and his wolf were too worked up to allow his mate out of their sight. Deanna had sustained bruises, but they would heal. In a few days, she’d be fine.
Much to Casey and his wolf’s irritation, she had been well enough to give the bear twins, Arliss and Aidan, hugs and kisses. She thanked them for saving her family’s lives. They stuck their tongues out and jeered at Casey.
He harrumphed and reminded her it was actually him and his pack mates who saved her. She argued that they wouldn’t have known her family was in danger without them. To which he replied that the bear twins were spying on her, and voyeurism shouldn’t be rewarded. She pouted and told him a kiss and a hug was hardly a reward. He said he wouldn’t mind getting either…
to which she happily complied.
When Casey and his pack mates arrived at her house the previous day, they snuck in through the back door. Surprisingly, Jake was pretty adept at picking locks. It was lucky that they did actually manage to separate the two shifters. When the bear came out to investigate, his pack mates took him down quickly and efficiently. They were planning their next move when they heard the bobcat’s yowls.
Casey couldn’t contain himself. He shifted and ran to his mate, with Alec and Adam, who also shifted, following behind. Jake kept the bear subdued.
When it was over, Deanna was grateful to find her family were unhurt… relatively so. Dennis had been knocked out, and would have a headache for a day or so, but he would be okay.
The shark and the bear shifter were taken to the Sheriff’s station. Other than the charges they had accrued in Virginia, there were outstanding warrants for them in Vegas, so it was decided they would be transported back there. The pink bear was also found. As it turned out, Dinah had taken it to her play-date and left it at Casey’s parents house. So, the Vegas cops also had that evidence too.
Deanna told Casey how sorry she was, over and over again. He, of course, accepted her apology. He couldn’t stay mad at her - his wolf would never allow it. Now, she was unbelievably relieved and keen not to allow her own stubbornness to push him away again…
She gave him a devilish smile, before she pushed him on his back and clambered over his body. Casey had given her a shirt to sleep in, but he was naked, and his yummy flesh was tantalizingly on display. She sat over his hardening sex and wiggled her hips.
The lustful look on his face was intoxicating
. “See, I’m all better.”
Casey, in spite of the haze of lust, managed to pout. “You’re just saying that; you were badly injured…”
Her bobcat grumbled in disapproval. She was fine! “No, I wasn’t, and I’m healing now. As long as we’re not too energetic, we should be able to bond…”
Casey snapped to attention; a look of hope danced through his eyes. “Did you just say…” His wolf howled in delight.
She nodded at him as her own beast yipped in happiness. He ran his hands up her thighs and sat up; their lips were just a whisper apart.
A happy flush spread over his face. “You’re not just doing this because of what happened yesterday, are you? Because we don’t have to rush…”
It killed him to say it, and his wolf almost hated him for it, but it was true.
Deanna pressed herself against his chest, rubbing the pebbled points of her nipples against him. “No, I want this. I want you. I want to go to sleep every night with you lying next to me. I want to wake up every morning with you curled around mine. I need to be with you; I need to bond with you.” She nibbled on his ear.
His hands settled on her waist. “You kind of make it sound like you only want me for my body.”
“That’s not a problem, is it?” she murmured, huskily.
Casey chuckled. “No, just making sure.”
Unexpectedly, he tore the shirt away from here. He lifted her up and laid her down on the bed. He scooted down and easing her legs apart, rapidly plunged his tongue into her wet core. She cried out in satisfied shock, and her hips bucked off the bed.
Casey gripped her hips as he alternately fluttered his tongue inside her and nibbled on her sensitive clit. Her body writhed as the heavenly tension coiled within.
“Enough… please… I need you now!” she whimpered, clutching at the covers.
He withdrew and kneeled between her legs; his eyes flicked to amber, and a wolfish grin adorned his face as he took a moment to relish the sight before him. He wanted to remember this moment forever. The sight of his mate’s lovely, trembling body, waiting for him to take her and bond her to him forever was the greatest thing he had ever seen. His wolf growled in agreement.
“What are you waiting for?” she breathed. Her bobcat was racing around her head, desperate to complete the bonding.
“Absolutely nothing.”
He climbed over her waiting body and nestled between her thighs, aligning their sexes.
He leaned his elbows either side of her, mindful of not putting too much weight on her. He was already a lot bigger than her, and he was conscious of her bruised ribs. He couldn’t stop his animal from bonding her to them,
he was too far gone for that
, but he didn’t want her to feel any pain.
He scented her and smiled as his fangs descended. Deanna gave him a toothy grin, flashing him her fangs too.
She reached down between them and fisted his swollen member. Her tiny hand could barely hold him. She felt the same fluttering she always did before they made love. It was excitement with a sliver of trepidation, and it drove her wild.
Deanna directed him to her entrance, and she tingled with anticipation. She looked into his amber eyes, and any doubts she ever had about him disappeared. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” He buried his head in her shoulder and slowly pushed inside her.
She moaned as her flesh parted at the wonderful intrusion. He kept going until he almost hit her womb. He held still for a second before pulling out and driving into her again. Deanna wrapped her legs around his waist as he took her with long, languorous thrusts.
She moaned at the deliciously slow assault; every nerve ending was tingling in awareness of her upcoming release. Gradually he sped up his movements; he became harder and hotter inside her, scraping against her inner walls.
Deanna felt her body tensing and knew she was close. She pushed her hips against him and clenched her inner muscles, exquisitely tightening around him. Casey growled and began pistoning in and out of her, angling his hips, so he crushed her clit with every thrust.
She clutched his shoulders and her claws dug into his shoulders.
If she wasn’t careful, she was going to leave permanent marks on his poor shoulders one day!
The prickle of pain sent him over the edge; he stiffened and roared as he erupted inside his mate. Within seconds, she reached her own release, screaming his name.
Their beasts howled at them, and they sank their fangs into one another’s neck, eagerly swallowing their ambrosial blood. Their intertwined bodies throbbed as their emotions flowed to one another. They reveled in their joint love and passion.
They pulled back from their bites. Deanna grinned, and his blood dripped from her fangs. She threw back her head and cried the word, “Mine.”
Casey roared in ecstasy and bellowed it too.
At last, she finally was his.
After some very friendly negotiating, Casey decided to move in with Deanna and her family. It was no-brainer as far as he was concerned. He knew she couldn’t leave them, and he was used to living with a big family. As much as he liked living at his ‘bachelor pad,’ it had been kind of lonely.
The rest of the family were happy for him to join them… well apart from Dennis, but he got over it, and actually kind of liked having another guy around the house. Although he would never admit that to Casey’s face.
Both Darcy and Casey were given jobs at Carly’s cake shop. Casey’s friends ribbed him about wanting to be a baker. With his usual wit and eloquence, he told them to fuck off.
With the extra income from Darcy and Casey, the family replaced their old car and minivan. Added to that, they now had Casey’s jeep.
Tess decided to leave town. She was still pretty shaken after what happened. Nobody had the heart to try and argue with her. They figured she’d be back soon, but they managed without her, so they didn’t dwell on it.
Much to Casey's chagrin, the bear twins didn't stop following his mate. Deanna insisted they were harmless, but Casey and his wolf couldn't help but feel jealous. She was not sympathetic to his feelings.
Casey, with great reluctance, decided to leave the wolf pack. While his mate would have been accepted as a member of the pack, her family wouldn’t. Rather than Deanna joining his pack, he was joining her family unit. It was for the best; they were their own little pack.
Deanna tentatively suggested that he change his name to Hardison – so they all had the same last name. The rest of the family all agreed that was a good idea. Casey didn’t like it at all. He said Deanna should take his name – he was the man after all! At that, she called him sexist and old-fashioned, that led to an argument and then some very satisfying sex.
It was then suggested that Casey changed his first name to something that started with a ‘D.’
He was the odd man out after all.
So far, the kids had suggested Dopey, Doofus, Dishwasher, Dingbat and Doorbell.
He didn’t like any of those names.
Things with the pack didn’t change that much; he still hung out with his friends and saw his family. He just wasn’t entitled to a say in any pack decisions, or to attend pack meetings. He had no doubt the pack would help if ever he were in trouble though. His mom was upset, but she understood.
Although he was still respectful of Adam, Casey was no longer answerable to him. From that point on, he only answered to a higher power – his mate, and he loved every minute of it.
