Her parents took it a lot better than she thought. They expressed their heartfelt support, stating she was a grown woman and was stable in her career that she could afford a child. There was no room for finger pointing she was punishing herself enough. Her father on the other hand did express his disdain at her decision to not fill the father in on his pending parenthood. She may have Damon as the fill in but it still wasn’t right to leave the other half out altogether. Deciding to send him a text message instead to see if he would at least give her call, she waited. The return message was enough to come to the conclusion that she would be a single mother like so many others. She texted that they needed to discuss the results of her tests and the message she received said that she needed to
‘HANDLE IT.’

Not that she expected him to be
overly excited but she didn’t think in million years he would be so cold about it. In her eyes ‘handle it’ meant she needed to get rid of it and that she wasn’t going to do no matter who the father was. He wasn’t running shit her way. She knew she would never see him again considering that she wasn’t out and about like that. Of course her two money grubbing associates started to question whether the child was B.A.’s and she just denied it to save face. Plus she knew how they operated, they might try and sale the story to the press or something. That’s all she needed was to look like a money grubbing bimbo because all fingers will point straight at her if the story was leaked. Soon they started to point fingers at Damon but neither of them denied it so that’s what they ran with.

Everything was going perfect until the day she was face to face with the one whom she had been hoping she wouldn’t have to see again. The anger that radiated off of him was scary as hell. She
didn’t understand why he was so upset, he told her to handle it and in her thoughts she did. By excluding him as her baby’s father, she handled it. When he said he would be at her house when she got off she thought about running for the hills but thought better of it. The consequences would only be worst if she avoided the confrontation awaiting her. Pulling up to her house she didn’t see any signs of company so she rushed in to take a quick shower and got comfortable in her lounge pants with matching tank top. No sooner than she put her comfy socks on her doorbell rang signaling his arrival or the Chinese food she ordered.

“Looks like I’m right on time.” Barron stated cryptically. Mya stepped out of the way to let him pass over the threshold. “Where do you want me to put the food?”

“Just sit it on the table. Thanks.”

“You’re welcome.”

“Would you like something to drink?”

“Yeah just bring me whatever is fine.”

“You hungry?”

“All this is for you. I thought maybe you ordered for me too.”

“How would I do that I don’t know anything about you let alone what you like to eat?” Mya tried to be snappy but it didn’t come out like she wanted. She was finding it hard to be mean to him.

“Well lucky for you we have similar taste buds when it comes to Chinese food because these are some of my favorites.” He chuckled at her failed attempt. She passed him a plate and fork. They ate in silence for a few minutes before she got self-conscience because Barron kept staring in her direction.

“Why are you looking at me like that?”

“I never knew the glow that people say they see was real but now I see that it is. How have you been?”

“Okay I guess. I have my days where I’m perfectly fine with no sickness and others where I can’t keep anything down. The excessive sleeping is starting to get better. How have you been?”

“Good. I’ve been on the road for the past three months.” She nodded her head. “Let’s cut the bullshit Mya.”

“Let’s.”

“Is that my baby you are carrying?” At Barron’s question Mya scrunched her eyebrows at him before squinting her eyes as she laughed without a hint of humor.

“Fuck you Barron!” Mya exclaimed. “How dare you ask me something like that?”

“Fuck me? Got-damn Mya I thought I was doing the right thing by telling you about the condom breaking. I could have been a dick and just let you figure it out whenever. I told you to call me and you never even bothered to tell me that you were in fact pregnant. What the hell am I supposed to think? Maybe this good girl act was all just a damn act. How do I know that you
weren’t already in a relationship? Hell I don’t. If I never walked into that hospital room, the hospital you work at I would have never saw you again.”

“Never contacted you? How fucking dare you come into my house spewing bullshit? I texted you asking that you call me because we needed to discuss some things about the test results. I received a text from you saying to
handle it
. Handle it? Do you know how that made me feel? I was done after that. Me not being as genuine as the person you met, hell how about you not being the guy I met? Yes I know I slept with you the first night and sometimes I regret it but if not then I wouldn’t be carrying this gift. I will not regret my baby just because you do.”

“I never received a message from you and damn sure never sent one telling you to handle a damn thing. I never said I regretted anything, stop putting words in my mouth.”

“What?! Are you calling me a liar?”

“I’m just stating the facts.”

“I have no reason to lie Barron.”

“Neither do I. Mya.”

“Is this not your phone number?” Mya showed him the thread with three messages in it between her and the number to his phone. Looking at the date closely he remembered he had gotten a new phone earlier that day and was with Naomi that night.

“That’s my number Mya but you gotta believe me I didn’t send any message. As a matter of fact I couldn’t because I didn’t have my phone most of the day. I broke the screen while in the gym. I did send it to be uploaded to a computer so that I could keep all of my contacts, pictures, and such. I waited for you to call me, I felt in my heart that you were pregnant but after I didn’t get any new messages I figured you weren’t.” From the sincerity of his words Mya believed that he really didn’t send her a message. But who would?

“What now?”

“When is your next doctor’s appointment? When do you find out what you’re having?”

“My next appointment is in two weeks and hopefully I get to see the sex of the baby.”

“I’m going with you.”

“You don’t have…”

“No, I want to.” Barron features softened. “Come here Mya.” He demanded with an outstretched hand.

“Yea?” He led her to stand directly in between his legs so leaning forward he could rest his head on hear rounding tummy. Lifting her shirt just enough to see the thickening of her waist. He rubbed her belly in a circular motion. Leaving a lingering kiss that traveled through her entire body. Feeling her body tremble under his grasp on her hips, he took several whiffs inhaling her natural scent. With her being so short without her heels on his face was right near the contour of her V where he ran his nose along the line of her pants that rode low on her hips. The scent coming from between her thighs was doing all kinds of things to his hormones. It wasn’t helping him a bit that she was running her soft hands over his waves massaging his scalp with her fingertips. All he knew was he wanted her something terrible. “Barron?”

“Yeah?” Barron looked up into Mya’s curious gaze. He had to bite his lip to keep from doing something more. Her eyes followed his lips and before either said anything. She attacked his lips with hers. Running his muscular hands up, down, and around her curves was turning her on to no end.

“Barron I need you.” Mya said in between kisses.

“You got me baby.” They both smiled before they deepened the kiss. Since he knew where her bedroom was, he wasted no time picking her up to wrap her legs around his waist
carrying her to the bedroom. Barron paused for a moment when they were undressed completely.

“What’s wrong?”

“I didn’t bring any condoms.”

“Well at least I know you didn’t come over just to have sex.” Mya joked and Barron chuckled thinking how right she was.

“I have some that I got in a gift set about six months ago. They’re in the nightstand, the box has never been opened. So…” She trailed off and waited for him to check them for himself. Sitting back on his hunches he gazed down at her protruding midsection and further down to her open thighs showcasing her smooth peach. His hands had a mind of their own as he started to stimulate her already aroused body. “Mmm… Barron…” She bit her lip to hold in any more moans. At the sight before him he said to hell with it, what else could go wrong? She was already pregnant. Taking a nipple into his mouth at the same time as he penetrated her core, he found she was just as tight as the last time he was inside of her.

“Damn…” He hissed from the sensation of being in her sugary goodness with no sleeve. Always hearing how different it felt to be in all the way raw, he would have never imagined being in anybody raw before he got married. Having a baby mama at the age of twenty seven is as close as he is going to get right now.

“Yea…” Mya let out a satisfied moan feeling where he was coming from as he moved in and out at a nice steady pace. Deciding he had enough four play he started laying the pipe with a sense of urgency. The moans quickly turned to screams as he kept going until they both blew their loads breathing heavily.

Soon enough she was asleep on her side leaving him to his own thoughts. The ringing of his phone woke him a couple of hours later. From the ring tone he knew it was
Naomi. The chick he was seeing up until two weeks ago when she wanted to take it to a serious level and he was unwilling to do that. Instead of answering the call he just got dressed and dipped out. Taking her garage door opener that was on the kitchen island so he could lock up somewhat without waking her. He needed to clear his head because his thoughts were all over the place. He’d just call Mya later so they could discuss where this was going to take them.

Chapter five

Mya woke up the
next morning after an eventful night with Barron only to find out she was completely alone. Thinking maybe he went to the living room. She searched her house and sure enough he had left. Left without a goodbye, see ya later, or dog kiss my ass. Just a big fat nothing. The hurt she felt now was more excruciating than what she felt when she got that mysterious text message. A moment of weakness is only breaking her spirit more and more each time she is with him. The first time they were together, the experience was more than magical. It was explosive, he alternated between wooing her body to screwing her body. Obviously to him she is only a piece of meat and it was high time she just got over it. Of course she would let him have dealings with their child but other than that he needed to keep it moving. That is, if he even wanted to have a relationship with his kid.

“Baby girl?!” Damon yelled when he let himself into her house. Mya was just stepping out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel. After the whole rejection feeling seeped in, she started cleaning her house starting with the crumpled sheets on her bed.

“In here!”

“Hey baby. What’s going on?”

“Nothing.”

“What’s wrong with you? You seem down.”

“It’s nothing.” She shook her head at the thought of what was really bothering her.

“Bullshit. Who do I need to whoop?”

“It’s nobody. I didn’t know you were coming over.”

“I wanted to take you out to lunch is that too much to ask?”

“No but I don’t really feel up to going out.” Mya walked into her walk in closet. Damon didn’t say anything he just stared after her, knowing full well something wasn’t right and he was going to figure it out.

“Mya Denise Daniels if you don’t tell me what the problem is, me and you gone have a problem.” Damon threatened as she came out of the closet with sweats and tee.

“Damon…” Mya huffed and then just broke down. “I’m so stupid.”

“Who got you crying and shit Mya? What’s going on?”

“He knows about the baby and he was not happy.”

“Oh ole dude. I thought you didn’t know who he was.”

“I didn’t know who he was during our encounter. Technically I know who he is, I just don’t want to tell anyone. I was fine with being a single parent, honestly.”

“Who is this cat besides his nickname being BJ?”

“That’s not really his name.”

“What the hell you mean that ain’t really his name?”

“Damon I just can’t tell you who it is right now. Please can you just drop it?
BJ is just the first thing that came to my mind at the time.” It was Damon’s turn to huff with disappointment because she wouldn’t tell him who the daddy was.

“I’ll drop it for now only because I don’t want to stress you and my little niece or nephew out. But as for you staying in the house, that’s out of the question. It’s time for you to stop wallowing in self-pity and get on with it. You won’t tell me who it is so quit acting wounded, big daddy can’t fix it if you don’t confide in me.”

“I know you Damon that’s why I’m not telling.”

“What is that supposed to mean?”

“You will swell all up and then the threats will start. I just don’t want it, okay?”
