“You all are
concerned about your spring break…”

“And countdown to
summer!” Sakura added.

“…when you should
be worried about how you’re not going to blow your powers to Nephthys,”
Nightshield said ignoring Sakura’s interjection.

“What’s the big
deal? We hide it from Laqiya’s sisters.”

Laqiya started to
answer her until she felt it, something cold. A feeling that she hadn’t felt
since she successfully defended the seal of oblivion from Sahajah returned to
her; that hair
raising
feeling that induced something
like a electric tingling in her body; Laqiya’s sixth sense.

“Laqiya.
What are you doing?” Sakura asked, being the first to notice they had left
Laqiya behind.

Laqiya ignored her
and started into the park while saying, “I sense something. I sense-Oh! Sorry!”

In her daze,
Laqiya managed to walked into a girl a little older than her coming out the
park. She grabbed the girl by her upper arms to steady them both while saying,
“I’m so sorry. I wasn’t paying attention. Are you okay?”

“I’m fine. Just.
Oh…”

The girl swayed a
little and Laqiya kept holding her to steady her.

“Is she okay?”
Nightshield asked coming over to see for herself now.

“You’re all clammy
and hot,” Isis said. “Are you running a fever?”

“No. I’m fine.
I’ll just go home and lie down. I’m not sure what came over me. I was just fine
a minute ago,” the girl said managing to regain her bearings.

Laqiya frowned.
Something about this just didn’t feel right.

“Are you sure? We
could help you if you want? Do you live around
h-

“I’m fine.
Just cold.
Thanks for your help,” the girl said continuing
down the sidewalk in the opposite direction.

“That was weird,”
said Sakura as she left.

“I guess she’s
okay then,” Laqiya muttered.

“Are you alright?”
Nightshield asked putting a hand on Laqiya’s shoulder. “You spaced out earlier.
You were muttering about sensing something.”

“Sensing
something,” Laqiya said as she searched her surroundings with her senses. She
had before, but whatever it had been was gone now. “Maybe I’m being paranoid…”

Nightshield
exchanged a glance with her. Laqiya understood the meaning. They’d talk later.
Perhaps they should. The other thing she had sensed was going, but there was
still an ominous feeling in the air. But she’d think about it later. They were
really late now and no doubt her mother was angry at their disappearance.
