No matter how many times I write these, it never gets easier to put my feelings for those who help me in here. I can write about love and emotions all day, but when it comes to my own, it’s just not that easy for me. It’s not easy to share.

Thanks to The Boy, my baby, my parents, my sister and my friends. Everyone who sticks by me. The Gearheads, Shey’s Shit Show, and to my author friends, thank you! A special thanks to Marisa, Barb, Jenn, Theresa, Ashley, Erin, Becky, Beth, Kelly, Melisa, Tammy, Dianna, Jill, Ali, Heather, Amy, Kim, Tray, Stephanie and Nicki.

Also, all the drivers who are constantly there for me with all my random questions and who take the time to show me around the world of racing that fans don’t get to see. I can’t thank you boys enough for your patience and your undying love that you have for the sport.

Elaine, again, owe you so much I might as well give you my child. Seems fair.

Janet, thanks for brightening my mornings.

Shanna, the way you keep the girls eager and waiting for my next book makes me so happy. Thanks for helping me out all the time.

For Honey Girl.

There’s just something about a mother daughter bond.

Life is essentially a cheat and its conditions are those of defeat; the redeeming things are not happiness and pleasure but the deeper satisfactions that come out of struggle.

About the Author

Beneficiary Rule – This is commonly referred to as the lucky dog. It allows the first car a lap down the chance to be on the lead lap again when under caution. The driver moves to the end of the longest line at the end of the caution.

Rager’s eyes were on mine as he took a drink of his beer. “You still married?”

My eyes went to my ring, it felt wrong to take it off knowing I was still married and it changed nothing regardless if I removed the ring or not.

“Yeah.”

Rage gave a nod, one I knew pretty well. If there’s anyone I can read, it’s Rager Sweet. In fact, he knows me probably better than even Easton does. Sad to say, but true.

He moved closer to me, standing from his chair and walking over to me. Keeping my eyes on his, I watched his every move. I remembered how he kissed, just like his racing style. On the edge and out of control.

Me wanting this, being around Rager wasn’t a good idea. He was the wrong guy. The wrong choice. But I couldn’t stop myself from wanting him.

Too young, too late, we’d never have this, I think I knew that.

Did I want it?

Yes, I did. I’ve always had feelings for Rager and I would never say I settled for Easton because that wasn’t the case at all. I wanted to marry Easton. I still want to be with him. But feeling Rager’s arms around me brought back those memories in full force. Even when I’m a lap down, he’s there, just on the edge giving me that glimpse at the beneficiary rule. There’s always a chance to get your lap back.

“My feelings for you won’t go away, Arie. I don’t think they ever will.”

Momentum – When a driver has momentum and can carry the speed through the corner or straightaway and make the pass.

“I just need a car that can roll through the fuckin’ corners. You give me that and I’ll shut up.” His words were spit, annoyance was an understatement.
