About The Quarterback’s Baby

I had to break his heart so he'd realize his dream.

Before Noah became a superstar quarterback, he was my best friend and the love of my life. College sweethearts, true soulmates, I knew we'd be together forever. Maybe that's why our carelessness didn't seem like such a big deal.

Love isn't supposed to hurt, so when Noah started to fail because of me, walking away was the only option.

Now, two years later, I have to face him at his sister's wedding and he'll find out the truth. He used to love me. That's got to count for something, right? But I didn't only break his heart. I kept a something from him so huge that I don't think he will ever forgive me.

Chapter One

“Quit fooling around. Anyone could walk in at any moment and find us.” Noah pushed me away, because we were in the locker room. I wanted us to be found. I couldn’t stop having dreams about him taking me in the locker room.

Sweaty.

Steamy.

Hot.

“Not, if you hurry up,” I purred as I tugged at his towel. Being in love with my best friend kind of brought out the tigress in me. I used to be shy and I had so many self-esteem issues as a kid. Noah moved in across the street when I was a toddler. We grew up together, he taught me how to ride a bike, because my dad was away a lot. He helped me with so many things. People used to think we were brother and sister, even though he had an older sister, Mia. She couldn’t wait to leave home and join the army as soon as she turned eighteen. We stayed like brother and sister until we got older, until being in such close proximity brought something out of me. Something that I never knew existed. Hormones.

My friends used to tell me that I was that age. I was with Noah all the time, so it was natural to have those kind of feelings for him, but there was nothing natural about the way I felt about him. It was all unnatural.

I used to tease him all the time about which one of the cheerleaders or popular girls that wanted to be with him, but I was scared that I would have to one day see another girl in his arms. That was until, he told me that I was the only girl for him. The only one that he thought about every single night.

I was his.

And he was mine.

Nothing could stop us, apart from the one thing that was stopping us at the moment. My virginity. He wanted to wait for the Prom. Make it extra special. The closer it drew, the more I just wanted him now. I’d thought last night in the car when I’d gone down on him and sucked him dry he would take it that extra step further. But he’d backed out, just as he was going to do now.

“I’m not putting you on the bench where Rick and the rest of the team put their wet butts.”

The thought of it turned me on, the idea of him just taking me like a wild beast. That made me wet, until he mentioned his friend’s butts on the same bench.

“Or in your room where my mom or your dad could walk in at any moment,” he growled as he held me tight. His voice was saying one thing, but his body was saying another. I could feel his hardness in between my legs. The only thing dividing his cock and my pussy was one towel across his waist, and his nipples were as hard as mine. I could easily take my pants down and he could take me against the lockers.

He shook his head as if he was coming back to reality and away from lust land. “That night. Our night is going to be special, you just need to wait.” He sighed as he pushed me away. Slowly, quietly, but his breathing had increased and he was panting the same as me.

“Don’t try and resist it,” I sighed, thinking that maybe, just maybe, he would come around to my way of thinking. The locker room was empty, as the rest of the team were in the shower. Maybe it was the danger of it all, knowing that we could get caught at any moment, that made me even more wet.

I tugged at his towel and saw his fat cock screaming at me. Wanting to come inside my tunnel. I couldn’t help but purr, “Please…”

That was when we got interrupted. The rest of the team were coming into the lockers from the showers and I had managed to undo some of my buttons. Noah slapped me on the butt and said, “Leave, or I may just take your damn virginity in front of the whole squad.”

I hesitated for a minute, but then I thought about it being special between us. Not to be shared with others, so I left, saying, “Laters.”

I wiggled my butt quickly and left the lockers, thinking that in eight days time it will all be over. The wait will come to an end.

I just needed to be patient.

I just had to wait.

Chapter Two

“Hey Ava, where you been?” Carly my best friend asked as I skipped the line and joined her at the lunch queue.

“Hanging out at the guy’s locker room.” I laughed as I picked up a tray, and some of the girls started complaining about me jumping the line.

“Get a grip!” Trinity shouted at them as she lifted up her perfectly polished pink nails and flashed her hand at them.

That’s why I love my girlfriends, they always have my back. We’re quite different, maybe that’s why we get on so well.

“Did he then?” Trinity asked as she picked up her tray.

“If she did, she wouldn’t be looking like that.” Carly flicked her blond bangs away from her eyes. She was trying something new with her hair and it had looked great when she first got it done. A downward spiral which covered one eye, but now, in the real world, it was becoming everything but a cool new hair-do.

“Told you not to do your hair like that. It’s only for models,” Trinity remarked as we grabbed our bottles of water and headed to our normal seating area in the corner, away from prying eyes and ears.

“Carly’s right. I just need to wait.”

I said as i sat down and both of them said in unison, “Eight days.”

I hit them gently both on the shoulder.

“You’ve got the best looking guy in school. In about four years he’ll be one of the leading quarterbacks for the Giants and you’re complaining about not losing your virginity eight days early. Damn, some girls don’t know when they got it so good.”

I smiled when she summed up my life in about three short sentences. She was right - I was being pathetic.

“I know, we’ve only been together a few weeks, but…”

Carly quickly swallowed her fries and said, “There’s no ‘but’. I thought maybe your dad and his mom may have a problem, with you guys being step siblings, but even they were cool.”

That wasn’t exactly true.

“Not quite. His mom still doesn’t feel comfortable with us being teenagers and a couple in the same house. Remember she’s spent her whole life making sure that he pursues his football career. Including making sure girlfriends stay at bay.”

Carly laughed, “Now, she has one under the same roof.”

Trinity continued, “Remember when he was going out with Destiny?”

That was one thing that I would never forget. “She went on a date with them, just to make sure Destiny didn’t touch her son.”

Yep, my stepmom did have a reputation, and for a good reason. She was a tyrant, which was why when dad started dating her a couple of years ago, I wasn’t keen. Then when he said that he had just asked her to marry him, I’d hoped that he would change his mind before the wedding.

And not because she wasn’t my mom; I never knew my mom. She ran off with some army guy that she used to date in High School when I was a baby. She claimed that parenthood was too much for her. She kept in touch for a year or so and then after then she said she was too busy.

“Noah says it was so embarrassing, he had such a reputation of being Mommy’s Boy,” I shook my head as I started popping the fries in my mouth thinking about my hands on Noah’s body, rubbing it, and thinking about eight days’ time.

“Eat too much of that and you’ll need a double session in the gym,” Noah remarked as he took a couple of my fries from my plate. Then he winked as he made a narrow escape from Trinity throwing her serviette in his direction.

“Damn Ava, your man is so fine,” she said as she batted her eye lashes in the direction of Noah, but her eyes were all on Eli. The one that she couldn’t have. He had made it clear that he was in love with his childhood sweetheart, Kylie. But they had such a great relationship and, as much as I hated the idea of one of my best friends breaking up another person’s relationship, I hated the idea that Trinity was lonely. She had dated. Tried to move on, but her heart was in only one place and it looked as if it couldn’t move, no matter how hard she tried to get on with her life.

As for Carly, Ryan and her were the real deal. My eyes drifted from Noah to Carly, who was kissing Ryan, same as every other single chance they got. I hit them and said, “Get a room, you guys.” Carly winked at him and said, “Later babes, my place.”

We all knew what that meant. Those guys weren't the romantics; they were open about the fact that they were having sex, and part of me envied their openness. I had only told my two friends about Prom night.

Carly kissed Ryan again and said, “Later babes.”

Ryan sang as he left our table, “Bye ladies.”

Trinity shook her head, “Don’t worry, Ava. Soon you and Noah will have a room.”

Carly smiled, “All to yourself.”

We all said in unison, “In eight days time!”

As we got up and headed back to class, I could swear lunch time got shorter every day and class time just got that bit longer. I couldn’t wait for graduation.

Chapter Three

It was time... I couldn’t believe it. The time for us to go to the Prom had finally arrived. Noah had left the night before so that he could pick me up in the limo with Ryan, and Trinity had decided to go alone so she was coming in the limo too.

Everything was about to change. I had wanted this night so badly, but now it had finally arrived, I just felt even more nervous.

“So, you and Noah are really going together?” Michelle asked as she hovered at my door. My stepmom doesn’t understand the meaning of subtle, and Noah had warned me to stay out of her way. She had a habit of just trying to upset me whenever he was around and even worse when he wasn’t.

My Dad was a traveling salesman so most of the time he wasn’t at home. I really wished he was at home today, just so I didn’t have her knocking on the door while I was in the bathroom, claiming that she needed to pee. There’s a bathroom downstairs, but she says that she hates using that one, because it’s for guests.

She works at the bank part-time, so the three days she’s at the bank are the best. Those days, she’s not at home when Noah and I step through the door are great. Whenever she’s at home all she does is watch us like a hawk, trying to keep us apart. We never hang out in each other’s rooms now. Before, we used to, but then Noah said that we should just tell them what’s going on between us, and that’s when she started getting real strict. Really on my case.

“I hope you guys don’t do anything you shouldn’t do after the Prom,” she sighed as she came up behind me and put her hand on my shoulder. All of a sudden the room felt cold as she stared at me through the mirror.

I took a deep breath before answering, “No.”

I didn’t elaborate, I just wanted her to go. The idea of having a stepmom as a kid had felt like fun. It had just been my dad and I for so long, having another woman in the house was like a dream to me. But that dream died when Michelle moved in.

I knew what she was like from Noah. He knew that his mom was an angel only in his eyes; he had seen her criticize and upset nearly everyone in town. We used to spend more time at my house then at his. My grandma used to come and stay with me whenever dad was out of town, but as soon as he got married, she suddenly hated being in town. She loved her country life with grandpa in Minnesota.

She’d offered for me to move to Minnesota with her, but the idea of leaving Jersey just didn’t feel like an option at the time. But now more then ever it seems like a good option, seeing as soon it will be only Michelle and I in the house. It makes me feel too uncomfortable. I hoped that Dad would stop traveling so much, so I wouldn’t be stuck in the house with her.

“Don’t you think that your dress is too revealing?” she asked, as her eyes fixed on my breasts. Sure, the silk off the shoulder dress had a plunging neckline, which was perfect for someone with a bust like mine. It wasn't big, just nice and petite, and the dress made it seem like I had a lot more going on down there then I did. I knew Noah was more then happy with it. And, more importantly, so was I. The fitting bodice and mermaid dress were supposed to show off my wide hips and petite waist. They were my best assets, and I wanted no less than for Noah to want every part of me. It had a layered mermaid skirt which added dramatic effort. I had the diamond necklace and chandelier earnings to match, and my auburn hair was in a perfect bun.

But as soon as Michelle said it, she put fear in my heart about my dress.

I lifted it up and defended myself saying, “No, it’s fine.”

I hated her for always making me feel that way.

Self-conscious.

Beneath her.

She had that way about her; she was six-foot two and could easily be classed as Pamela Anderson’s twin sister. I had lived with her in the same house for six months and I swear she woke up with make-up on. I had never seen her without it.

“Well, you know Noah loves class and not cheap, so, let’s hope he feels the same way.” Then she tutted and spun on her two inch heels and left my room.

I wanted to change. I needed to rip off my dress.

Trinity had said it was perfect and so had Carly, so why did Michelle have a habit of always making me feel cheap?

That was when the doorbell rang, and it was too late to change my mind. I had to go to the Prom. As Noah rang the doorbell again, I answered the door reluctantly, trying to fight back the tears. The first thing he said was, “There’s my beautiful angel. Where have you been all my life?”

I replied, “Right here waiting.”

He kissed me delicately on the neck and said, “I told you, don’t you ever let her get to you.”

I turned, and there she was like The Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz. Noah knew me too well, and he knew her even better. He knew she wouldn’t try to resist the temptation to wind me up.
