They both turned to stare at him. Hamish rolled off her, beating her to the obvious question.

"What's going on?"

"That was Mr. Prescott. There is no longer going to be a trial for Bloody Bill."

"What!" She bolted upright, her heart pounding in fear. "They can't let him go, can they?"

"Sweetheart, calm down, it's not what you think. It seems he got into some kind of dust up in the prison. He was killed, stabbed twenty times in the chest, or so Prescott said."

Junipers mouth fell open, utterly stunned and not knowing whether to feel relieved he was dead, or at the same time mourn him because she'd just lost her father.

No, he was never really her father, and she couldn't bring herself to really care now that he was dead. It meant she was finally free.

Hamish's arms wrapped around her, pulling her back against his warm chest. Andy sat on the bed, taking her hands, running his thumb over her skin. "That's not all, Renview died last night also; to me it seems someone was cleaning up the mess that was Bill and Renview. I honestly believe we have nothing more to worry about."

Juniper swallowed, as her mind swam, before it occurred to her. "The Rosso family, I can only guess it would have something to do with them." She shook her head. "I never really knew anything about the family. I was only a waitress for them."

"They must know that too." Hamish ran his hands up her arms. "No one's coming after you anymore, you're free."

Her heart felt suddenly lighter, her lips curved up into a smile. "Yeah, I guess I am. I have everything I've ever wanted in life. Well more actually. I have two sexy mates I love more than life."

"That's right, sweetheart." Andy cupped her cheek, "You're more than we could have ever dreamed of in a mate."

"You're ours forever, baby girl." Hamish kissed the back of her neck, re-igniting the fire within her belly.
