“No!”
Najia jumped back from him and snapped her gaze to his. “You are naked, your
penis is getting hard, and I do believe I am safer over here.”

“We
will talk later, all you want Adara.” His breath whooshed out of him in
anticipation. “But it is past time for your initiation and I hope to plant a
babe in your womb today.”

Sharply
looking at him, Najia considered him for a moment. Seeing that he was very
serious, she wondered how much the Phoenix knew about her destiny.

“I
don’t need all of those muscles,” Najia informed him seriously. “I am stronger
than you and this will go down very differently than you have it planned.”

Disbelief
and something Najia couldn’t name crossed Cahal’s face. The something else made
shivers go down her spine. She didn’t want to admit it but she was anticipating
his touch. Backing away from him, she gasped as she felt the wall behind her.

“Why
are you in my room?” She asked trying to distract him.

“I
thought you were trying to kill yourself.,” Cahal admitted, his frustration
showing.

“Why
would you think that?” She met his eyes with surprise.

“You
ordered a bath! What else am I supposed to think?”

“That
I was dirty?” She said somewhat sarcastically, making a face at him. Watching
the conflicting emotions on his face, Najia got the bad feeling this was
another one of her unique abilities.

“You
can bathe?” He choked ou,t clearly surprised by her admission.

With
those simple words, Najia’s suspicions were confirmed. The look on Cahal’s face
was enough to tell her that bathing was one of the things a Phoenix being
couldn’t do; she just didn’t know why.

“Is
there a reason I shouldn’t?” She was relieved to note that he had stopped
advancing on her.

“Submerging
your body should kill you,”

he replied
seriously.

“I
have bathed many times and it has not killed me,” she reasoned even as she
shuddered over the idea of never being able to bathe. “Can I
please
take a bath now? Now that you
know it won’t kill me?”

Cahal
nodded his head and stared at her for a long time.

It is disconcerting to have him stare at me,
she thought, trying not to squirm under his watchful eyes. He was like her,
hadn’t he ever had a bath? Wrinkling her nose at her newest revelation, she
thought,
I wouldn’t want to be bonded to
someone who doesn’t bathe.

I bathe
!” Cahal wrinkled his nose in
disgust back at her. “I just use flames instead of water.”

“Oh.”
Najia looked at him in confusion. He had spoken to her, and she had heard him,
but she didn’t
hear
him. It was as if
he had spoken to her mind.

“I
will order you a bath on one condition.” Cahal told her suddenly, obviously
deciding to humor her.

Raising
her eyes to meet his, she could literally see what he was thinking. In her
mind, she saw the two of them in a wildly passionate embrace. Hot color flooded
her cheeks as she saw that he was imagining what it would be like to mate with
her. Unable to break eye contact, Najia felt her knees grow weak as she watched
him moving in and out of her, stretching her to her limit. Heat blossomed low
in her stomach as her nipples grew hard and the inside of her thighs grew slick
with heat.

“That
is what I am going to do to you,” Cahal whispered as he took a step towards
her.

“Get
out of my head!” Najia cried as she turned her back on Cahal. She was so
confused. How did he do that? She knew it was possible to hear his thoughts,
but to make her
feel
without ever
having touched her?

Laughing,
he walked up behind Najia and said, “I am your Seared. I can read your thoughts
and you can read mine, Adara. The bond between Seared people grows stronger the
closer they are. We are very close right now. We should have been joined in a
Burning Ceremony right after your initiation three years ago. The longer I have
waited for you, the less enjoyment I took out of other women. It is time for
your initiation. My body has burned for yours for far too long.”

Reaching
around her, Cahal cupped her breasts and started kneading them gently. Heat
filled Najia’s loins and her knees grew even weaker. Nuzzling her hair out of
the way, he began to lightly nibble and suck on her neck.

Her
head was spinning so far out of control.
Is
he actually touching me or was this all in my mind too?
His hands made her
breasts feel so full, so heavy, and so wonderful. The little bites he was
giving her neck made all thoughts fly out of her head and a fog engulfed her
mind.

Cahal
wrapped an arm around Najia’s waist and picked her up as he backed over to the
bed. Setting her on her feet, he turned her around and continued kissing her
neck. Pulling her flush with his body, he growled as he pressed his erection
into her stomach. She was nearly as tall as him, he realized with delight, he
was almost regretful of what he was about to do to her; but it was necessary.

Najia
could do nothing but feel. When his lips finally touched hers, she nearly
fainted with relief. His hands had stopped rocking her hips into his erection
but when compared to the heady sensations she got as his tongue played with
hers; she just didn’t care.

Cahal
was careful to keep his attention focused on her mind as he devoured her mouth.
His dick was throbbing with the need to take her as he reached behind her to
undo the ties of her Initiation garment. As each one slowly opened, his breath
quickened and his impatience mounted. Giving a low growl, he ripped the garment
the rest of the way and allowed it to pool unheeded around her ankles. With a
small cry of triumph, he lifted Adara and placed her gently on the bed.
