Ten years after it began, it comes to a close as J.K. Rowling announced that her final Harry Potter novel,
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
would be published on July 21, 2007, just a week after the fifth film adaptation,
Order of the Phoenix
, reaches theaters. In some ways it feels like the end of an era, but in another, it’s just the beginning. Fans will have two additional films to look forward to, and in all likelihood J.K. Rowling has secured herself a place in literary history; her work undoubtedly destined to live on for generations to come. Words to commemorate what she has given all of us could never suffice, so perhaps it is best to be succinct but heartfelt: Thank you.
