Chapter Twenty-Six

Quinn

Oh damn, he was good. He completely flipped this situation around on me faster than I knew what hit me. I showed up here thinking I was going to tease him and drive him mad, then I planned to walk out and leave him wanting more.

But no, I had no chance when it came to this man. I was gone the moment he touched me. I melted into a puddle of need just from his molten stare. He knew how to crawl beneath my barrier and attack. I had no hope of survival against his touch.

I fought off the urge to thrust my hips forward, but he feasted on me like I was his last meal. My control was weakening, and I felt as if I would shoot straight through the ceiling. I was building toward release, and at any moment this last sliver of control would be gone.

I tried to slide back, but he only gripped my hips tighter. My legs were tingling, and my lower stomach was coiled so tight. The light suction from his mouth over my sensitive bud threw me over the edge, and I bucked my hips against his mouth. Things became hazy as I gripped the edge of the desk. “Yes,” I screamed. “Mm, so good.”

My toes curled so tight they began to cramp. A rush of heat filled my body, and I felt slightly light-headed from my release.

He removed his hands from my hips, and I heard the click of his belt buckle. I lifted my head and watched as he rolled a condom over his impressive erection.

“Stand up and turn around,” he commanded. My mouth watered instantly from the dominance in his voice. He had many sides when it came to sex. He was sweet and caring when that’s what I needed from him. But tonight I was face-to-face with the side of him that loved to control. Excitement rushed through me, because I really loved the demanding Jett.

I stood on shaky legs, turned around, and placed my hands flat on his desk. Looking back over my shoulder, I watched him step up behind me. Feeling the tip of his hardness slip through my wetness, I moaned instinctively and widened my stance. I needed him so bad, my body was shaking from pure desire.

Slowly and deliciously, he began to slide inside me. Our bodies took over, knowing what the other needed.

Looking up at the glass wall, I grew self-conscious, tensing slightly. Jett wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me against his chest tightly. His breath hot on my ear, he whispered, “Don’t worry, Quinn, it’s just us. No one can see you. Feel me, baby. Just me.”

He thrust his hips forward over and over, bringing me to the edge once again. I was lost as he drove into me, bringing us both to a level of ecstasy.

I giggled as I looked down at our disarrayed appearance. We were sprawled out over the couch in his office, naked. Well, mostly naked. Jett still wore his shirt, even though it was completely unbuttoned and hanging off one arm. His tie was still around his neck, only loosened and knotted.

I, on the other hand, still wore my dress, kind of. It was bunched in the middle, exposing both my upper and lower body. I had on only one heel, and my bra was hooked on Jett’s wrist. We were a mess.

“What’s so funny?” he asked.

“Are you serious? Look at us. How could you not laugh?” I said in return. “What would someone think if they found us like this?”

He pulled me upward and brought me to rest on his chest, staring into my eyes. “I don’t care what anyone would think. We are good, Quinn. We’re so good together. This right here….” He paused. He closed his eyes tightly, and a wide grin spread over his lips. “This—” he motioned between our naked bodies, “—was so fucking hot, baby.”

All I could do was bury my head in his chest and laugh. He was right, it was hot.

I took a few minutes to clean myself up in the bathroom in Jett’s office. My reflection in the mirror made me laugh. I had one hell of a freshly screwed look. My hair was going in all directions, and my mascara was smeared below my eyes.

I did the best I could to make myself presentable and stepped out to find Jett waiting. He looked perfect, as if we hadn’t just had a wild round of monkey sex ten-minutes ago. Guys really had things easy; it truly was unfair.

“You feel like going to have a drink? Kade and Easton are down at Roger’s, the bar down off Bay View,” he said. “Kade just sent me a text asking me to stop by. I was hoping you could finally meet Easton too.”

“You can go, it’s a guy thing. I can just head out,” I replied.

Jett picked his phone off the desk and slid it into his pocket. As I reached out to grab my purse from the floor, he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me tightly against him.

“I don’t want you to go home. I want you to go with me to Roger’s,” he stated as he stared at me with a look of fierceness. “If you don’t go, I don’t go.”

“Kind of feels weird going along when it’s just the guys,” I confessed.

“It’s just a drink, Quinn, and I want you there. They know we are together, so they expect you to be with me.” He didn’t wait for me to argue, he just pulled me along without another word.

He wanted me to ride with him, but I ended up following him there instead, which he wasn’t too happy about, but I didn’t want to have to go back to Jett’s to get my car afterwards. I would drive home straight from the bar. I think he was hoping I would stay with him instead. That would be a fight for later.

The bar was busy, and after a few minutes we found the guys hidden in a back corner, accompanied by a few girls that looked a little wasted. They both looked relieved to see us, and I tried to hide my laughter as the dark-haired man, who I assumed was Easton, pleaded with Jett to rescue them.

“Well, ladies, the rest of our gang is here, so it was nice talking to ya,” Kade said as he tried to push past the blonde who didn’t seem to care that her tits were close to falling out of her tight shirt.

“Oh well, let us just move over and make some room,” the brunette cooed as she slid closer to Easton. I couldn’t hold back the laughter as Easton threw his hands up and jumped back. The brunette was gripping his crotch, and he was doing all he could to brush her off.

“You boys look like you have your hands full. Maybe we should give you some time alone.” Jett chuckled at my words.

Kade narrowed his eyes and glared up at me. “Quinn, Jett said something about you having your bellybutton pierced. Tracy here is thinking of getting hers done. Maybe she can take a look at yours. Ya know, getting a better look at one may help her decide.”

Oh no he didn’t. I saw the light in the blonde’s eyes as she spun around, solely focused on me. “Oh yes. Let me see yours.” She started to lift up the hem of my dress, and I shrieked. Hell no.

Jett grabbed the girl’s hands, and she locked eyes with him. He shook his head and she dropped my dress.

The laughter from Kade and Easton earned a very intimidating look from Jett. Kade knew exactly what would happen once he told the girl about my piercing. He planned that distraction well.

After about thirty minutes and a couple of drinks, we decided to head out. I knew Jett and I were about to argue over where I would be staying tonight. I was more than grateful when the guys decided to go back to Jett’s place.

Jett led me to my car and pinned me against the side once we reached it. “You following me?” he asked, and my heart sank.

“Not tonight,” I replied.

He held my stare, and I focused on the muscle in his jaw. It was ticking with irritation, and the sight of it made my stomach sink.

“Quinn, one day she has to grow up,” he stated. “And one day you need to force her to.”

He kissed me a little too quickly before he released his hold on me and stepped back. “I don’t like not being able to spend the night together.”

I could see the frustration written all over his face. It was the main reason relationships rarely worked for me. My home life always had a way of messing things up. I knew it was my fault; he was right. One day she had to realize I wouldn’t be there to pick up her messes. I just had a really hard time making that happen.

Chapter Twenty-Seven

Jett

I walked into my parents’ house, Quinn’s hand securely in mine. “Hello?” I yelled, looking around the empty space. “Anyone home?”

“We’re in here,” my mom hollered back from the kitchen.

Pulling Quinn closer to me, I guided her toward my mother’s voice. I roamed my hand along her hip to cop a quick feel before entering the kitchen. Quinn squealed and spun around to face me with a scowl on her face. She could pretend all she wanted to that she didn’t like my hands on her, but I knew different.

A loud rumble of “Surprise!” rang out as I rounded the corner. The room was filled with family and friends, food scattered across the countertops.

My mother rushed forward and kissed my cheek. “Happy birthday, handsome,” she said as she stepped back and pulled Quinn in for a quick hug. “And thank you, sweetheart, for getting him here.”

Quinn stood at my side, and once again I placed my hand on her hip and pulled her in close to me. Leaning in her direction, I lowered my voice so only she could hear me. “So you were in on this too. I may have to come up with a way to pay you back for this later.”

“Oh, I’m looking forward to it, Mr. Jameson.” She looked up at me through her eyelashes and fluttered them innocently. Quinn had a dirty side that I was lucky enough to get a taste of, and I was hoping for another sample of that tonight.

I hated celebrating my birthday. I would prefer a quiet evening out with just my immediate family. My mother knew this, and she saw Quinn as her in to make this night happen. I thought I was coming over for dinner with my parents, not a house full of friends and family.

Looking around the room, I locked eyes with Kade and Easton. Harper sat at the table next to Callie, both smiling innocently. They were all in on this shit too.

Still, the night turned out to be a good one. We all gathered outside around the pool and had a few drinks. My parents decided to call it an early night, after the first few hours of craziness. People were sharing stories of my younger years, and at times I found Quinn slinking back as if she felt slightly out of place.

“Jett, you have always been a playboy. Hell, dude, you lost your virginity to my sister.” Ryker chuckled before he tipped back his beer. Our eyes locked in a silent standoff, one whose outcome I couldn’t predict. “What, you thought I didn’t know? My sister got around, man. Hell, I knew you had sex with her the next day.”

“Well, times change, man. I was young and immature.” I pulled Quinn onto my lap and wrapped my arms around her waist. “Life changes when you least expect it to.” She looked down and found my eyes with her gaze, and I smiled up at her. “When you got something good, you hold on to it, and I’m holding on tight.”

Quinn smiled sweetly and bent down to place a soft kiss against my lips. The conversation was getting a little out of hand, going in directions that weren’t necessary. I stood up, taking Quinn with me, and placed her on the ground. She looked at me with a puzzled expression.

I said nothing as I led her off to the other side of the pool, music softly played from the speakers around the deck. Spinning her around, I held her against my chest. “That shit isn’t important,” I told her.

“Jett that was a long time ago. Stop worrying. It isn’t like it was last week. We both have pasts.” Her smile looked forced, and I knew how she was feeling. The thought of another man having his hands on her was like a punch to the gut. “Besides, the man I have today, I’m sure, is much better than the inexperienced boy she had then.” Her smile grew, and I couldn’t stop myself from responding with a matching grin.

“Yeah, you’re probably right. I’m thinking we should keep practicing, though. You know what they say.” I paused. “Practice makes perfect.”

“Dude, seriously, just because she’s your girl doesn’t make it any less creepy,” Kade stated as he barged in to my office and flopped down on the couch. He had once again thought he caught me watching Quinn. He was so far off at that point.

I looked over at him and narrowed my eyes.

“I’m not watching Quinn, smartass. I’m watching Harper. She’s sitting at the back table with some monkey in a suit. She looks all gooey-eyed, and we both know that ain’t like her. She doesn’t do flirty schoolgirl. She’s bossy and damn straight to the fucking point.”

I looked back out just in time to see that guy reach out and brush a stray hair out of Harper’s eyes. “I don’t like the look of the guy. Looks like some cocky, arrogant bastard. Something about him doesn’t seem right.” I ground my teeth with irritation.

“Okay, um...” Kade slid forward on the cushion. “Is there actually anyone that would be good enough for Harper?”

I didn’t take my eyes away from the two of them. I only shook my head slowly. My sisters deserved the best. Alexis found a good man, and Harper needed the same. This clown was not that man, I could feel it. He looked shady, and something didn’t feel right.

My mood only got worse when my cell phone rang.

“Yeah,” I answered.

“Hey, man, it’s Easton. We got a problem.” The tone of his voice told me that shit was about to go south.

“What happened?” I growled.

“Construction crew found significant water damage in the walls and floor. We’re gonna have to break in through the inner walls and floor, go deeper. You should probably make a trip over and see this for yourself.”

I pinched the bridge of my nose and squeezed my eyes shut. “Give me a couple hours. I’ll be there,” I stated before hitting End.

“Trouble at Casa de Jett?” Kade thought he was funny. Right now my mood was shifting and only getting worse with each passing moment.

I stood from the couch and slipped on my jacket. Looking back out into the dining room, I found an empty table where Harper and her friend once were. The thought of her leaving with the cocky SOB just made the heat in my neck rise higher.

I went straight for Callie, and she scrunched up her eyebrows at me. The girl knew how to read my moods. She also knew when to fire back and when to shut the hell up.

“I have to head to Miami. I probably won’t be back tonight. Need you to hold things down here.” She nodded in agreement.

Without waiting any longer, I found Quinn just as she was going toward the kitchen to pick up an order. Her smile faltered when she saw my face.

“I got some unavoidable issues in Miami. I need to go take care of things. I’ll be gone until tomorrow, I’m sure of it,” I explained, trying to control my irritation.

“Okay, drive careful.” She rose up on her tiptoes and kissed me softly. “Call me later if you get a chance.”

Even when I was in the worst of moods, she still had the ability to calm me. “I will, love you.” I kissed her once more and trailed my thumb over her lower lip. “Call in sick tonight. I don’t like the idea of you going in to Spencer’s when I’m out of town.”

I didn’t wait for her to respond. I walked away even though every part of me wanted to say to hell with the issues and take her home for the night. Forgetting about the entire shit-filled day with Quinn in my arms sounded so much better than driving into the mess I was about to. I knew she wouldn’t listen to me, and that irritated me more. I wished she would just quit that damn place. I hated every second of her being there.
