So much for abstaining.... They were in a public place. Anyone could walk by his car. She knew they didn't have long but she was beyond caring. She cried out as his fingers found their way inside her.

"Jaxon please" she begged. Fuck foreplay. She'd never had to beg him before. He always knew what she needed. She successfully pushed Jaxon's jeans down. He didn't wait for anymore cues. Carina propped her legs over the seat as Jaxon easily slid into her soaked channel. Their breaths quickened as her sex greedily welcomed him. They weren't making love and this wasn't a quickie. He slammed his hips into her. This was all out fucking.

Carina met Jaxon thrust for thrust.
This
they knew well. He knew her wants and needs and she knew his. She felt the car rocking side to side but she didn't care. The windows quickly fogged. Sweat glistened on their skin making their bodies slippery. She clawed at his back and ass. Her body tightened; Jaxon knew she was peaking. He cupped her ass further deepening his powerful strokes. He pounded into her feeling his spine tingling and his balls tightening. Her walls violently pulsated causing his cock to swell. They cried out as they came together. It was over as quickly as it began. Jaxon lay limp on Carina as she wrapped her legs around him.

"God, I've missed you" He mumbled. He hadn't come like this in weeks; since the last time he'd been with Carina. No one else could do this to him.

You miss this.
She bitterly thought. She was no better than Catherine. Here she was in a public parking lot getting fucked in the back of a car. She closed her eyes tightly as he pulled out. His seed spilled onto the backseat. No condom. Shit.

Carina sat up quickly pulling on her discarded panties. She had to get out of the car and away from Jaxon.

"Where are you going?" Jaxon asked in disbelief. They'd just had mind-blowing sex and she was running.

"Back to my friends" She flatly replied; she wanted to add that she'd been wrong to give in but she wasn't going to do this now.

"You always run" he whispered. He looked at her defeated.

Carina stared at his stunning blue eyes. "How do you want this to go?" She dubiously asked. What did he expect? "We just talked about abstaining and you didn't even make it out of the fucking parking lot!"

Jaxon zipped his jeans, sitting next to her. "It was you just as much as it was me belleza." He took a fortifying breath and continued. "I'm not going to lie to you. I want you to spend the night once in a while. I want to go on dates with you and show you off to the world. I want to have you every day, all the time."

She stepped out of the car; she needed the fresh air. His car permeated of sweat and sex. "What about your piece-of-shit entourage Jaxon? I won't tolerate Pete's shit."

"When you're with me I won't be with them" He assured her.

"How can you promise me that Jax?" Carina warily asked. "They're like an extension of you."

Jaxon was so different from them but he seemed to need their attention and so-called friendship. She'd hardly noticed them when she'd first been with him but his entourage hadn't counted on Jaxon wanting to be with her for long. This time she couldn't ignore them. They knew too much.

"I'll make it clear to them" He confidently stated.

She shrugged. "I'm not promising anything regarding them Jax"

"Just promise you'll give us a chance Carina. Try..." Jaxon looked so earnest.

She loudly swallowed. What had she missed about him beside his physical attributes? They hadn't spent 24/7 having sex. They'd talked and hung out too.

"I said I'll try!" She huffed.

His face lit up. He hugged her tightly and kissed her hair. Even in heels she was a head shorter than him. She straightened turning towards the club.

"What now?" She asked. She wasn't sure if she should go inside and pretend nothing happened between them or if she should take him seriously.

"Let's blow this joint!" Jaxon teased but she could hear the pleading tone in his voice.

"I have to tell Desirae. She'll freak if she can't find me."

He reluctantly nodded. They headed toward the front entrance just as Desirae stormed towards them. She stopped abruptly and gawked at Carina and Jaxon's disheveled appearance.

"Tell me that isn't
just fucked
hair!" Desirae accused.

Carina flushed with embarrassment as Jaxon shrugged. She looked down at the ground. She'd wanted to handle this differently.

"You gave it up after everything this asshole has done to you!" Desirae shrieked.

"Hey this asshole is right here!" Jaxon barked somewhat offended. He knew Desirae wasn't his biggest fan right now but he wasn't going to tolerate her badmouthing him.

Andrea and Emile followed Desirae out of the club. They too stood with their mouths gaping open. Jaxon boldly took possession of Carina's hand.

"Carina and I have been discussing some things. She's agreed to give us a real shot." He puffed up his chest attempting to exude his usual confidence. He sneaked glances to Carina giving away his insecurity.

"I don't understand Carina" Desirae responded confused.

"This is between me and Carina..." He interjected. He squeezed her hand hoping to get her support against her tenacious friend. Jaxon knew he'd fucked up and had to earn their trust.

"Well... well... well... What do we have here?" Pete sneered as he sauntered out of the club. Jaxon stiffened realizing his chances at making a good impression went from minimal to dismal.

"Why don't you let Pete join you two? Seems like you're into threesomes lately" Emile mocked.

Pete looked at Emile and Carina with confusion. "She won't let Catherine join us" Pete pouted stroking the front of his jeans. "But I'll gladly take just you."

"Fuck off" Carina snarled. She looked between Emile and Pete, not knowing who the bigger asshole was at the moment.

"You missed the Jaxon and Carina reunion" Desirae stated matter-of-factly. Everyone looked at her with a measure of uncertainty. Her monotone voice left one to wonder if it was meant with sarcasm or sincerity.

"Stop" Carina snapped. She wasn't going to make a scene in the club's parking lot but it seemed like there was no avoiding this conversation.

"Tell me you didn't just fuck him!" Desirae screeched. "Is his dick that great that he can magically erase the last few weeks?!"

Jaxon flinched as Carina squeezed his hand back in silent support. She said she'd try and this was a first step. "Desirae we'll talk tomorrow." She softly replied.

Desirae scowled storming back into the club. Andrea and Emile stood frozen in place as Carina closed her eyes. Jaxon had a reputation and she knew none of this was going to be easy.

Pete hooted and humped the air as he walked back into the club. No doubt that he was about to spread the news around. "They'll come around" Jaxon whispered. He pulled her into his arms. He didn't want her backing out before they even gave it a try.

She shook her head and waved to Andrea and Emile. "Let's go before the rest of your entourage gets wind of this."

He nodded and led her back to his car. Carina numbly sat in the passenger seat and stared out the window. The car still smelled of sex. Rather than feel hopeful and elated she felt empty and defeated. She knew that Desirae wouldn't be immediately jumping on the band wagon but with Emile being a dick about everything, it didn't help matters any.

Chapter Eleven

Jaxon said nothing as he drove back to campus. He sensed her somber mood and was hesitant to do anything that might make her run. "Will you stay with me tonight?"

Carina warily sighed. Staying with him could go either way. She might get a night with sensational sex but would they make any progress? On the other hand did she really want to go home and get crucified by her roommate? "I need to get some overnight stuff Jax. I can't step out of your dorm in the morning with the same club clothes."

"People will know that you've spent the night regardless" He muttered.

"This isn't spontaneous Jaxon. If you want me to spend the night allow me the decency to get my toiletries and a fresh outfit." She quipped. If they were going to do this, damn-it they would do it right... No half-assed shit.

Jaxon beamed. "Okay but we sleep naked!"

She rolled her eyes. How was this not only going to be about sex? Jaxon walked her to her dorm and waited outside while she ran to her room. Girls gawked and swooned at his presence. He sat at the dorm entrance ignoring the overzealous females.

Carina scurried to her room and grabbed her backpack. She threw in her toiletries, under garments, fresh clothes, phone charger, and her birth control pills. She took an extra moment to write a note to Desirae.

We'll talk in detail in the evening.

XOXO, Carina.

She hoped the note would appease her roommate for the time being. She hopped down the stairs trying to get back to Jaxon as quickly as possible. She didn't need too many people to notice his presence. She could already hear the flurry of whispers throughout the halls.

Carina burst outside the doors as Jaxon stood up. His face lit up as their gazes met. She couldn't help but feel warm inside. Could it be possible that he wanted something more substantial? She didn't readily trust the situation but she wanted to believe in the possibility of it.

Jaxon was in his 3
rd
year of college and had earned his reputation. She'd quickly become one of his conquests within the first few weeks of school. She'd run before getting too emotionally involved but it didn't mean that she'd left unaffected by him. Jaxon Wright was a force of nature to be reckoned with.

She swallowed the nervous lump in her throat, putting her hand in his. He led the way to his on-campus apartment. She looked down as they passed others throughout the campus grounds.

"Are you ashamed of me?" Jaxon asked hurt by her actions.

Her head snapped up. She'd hoped he hadn't noticed her averted gaze. "I don't know what to feel Jaxon. Desirae had a right to react the way she did. I feel like I'm on the friggin' Titanic. I know it's the journey of a lifetime but inevitably it will sink."

She knew it was an ugly analogy but she couldn't help but feel that if she gave him even a tenth of herself that she'd be ruined. Her mind screamed to stop before they even started. Her body demanded to get into his bed. Her heart palpitated as Jaxon's face fell. He looked genuinely devastated by her response.

"Let's talk inside" he morosely whispered.

She felt awful but the truth needed to be said. If
they were going to have a real shot at a relationship he needed to understand that it wouldn't always be easy. She understood they would both be tested. She knew she was strong enough for mostly anything but she couldn't say the same for him. Would he fail at the first test? Could she overcome his pack of hyena friends?

She stood in the middle of his room. It looked the same as always. His bed was made; clothes were piled on his desk chair, and his guitar was in the corner. Carina tossed her backpack by the bed trying not to look as awkward as she felt. She'd been in this room a dozen times but this time felt different.

Jaxon sat on his bed and opened his laptop. His fingers tapped away at the keys as she held her breath. Was she supposed to break the silence? "My phone rang all night" Jaxon tentatively began.

Great
, she thought.
Where was he going with this?

"I can't tell you how many people sent me this" Jaxon said as he turned the screen.

Carina shut her eyes already knowing what he was going to show her. Of course half the damn room was going to make sure that Jaxon Wright saw her little performance. This was worse than being a YouTube sensation. She swallowed as she opened her eyes.

Jaxon remained motionless waiting for Carina to look at him. "Is that really how you feel?" He asked.

She inhaled sharply noticing the tears brimming in his eyes. Could he really be acting? How did everyone assume the song was dedicated to him?

"Because after listening to the lyrics and seeing you sing it so passionately..." Jaxon ran his hands through his hair, taking a shuddering breath. "It makes sense. People kept calling telling me you'd made a room full of girls cry. I didn't believe it but when they sent me this I myself couldn't stop the tears from falling."

Carina swallowed her sarcastic remark. She'd never taken him to be some type of sensitive poet... But honestly, did she really know him? She warred with herself. There was the Jaxon everyone knew and sort of loved. Man-whore and all... Then there was this vulnerable Jaxon who sat in front of her. She didn't know if this was truly who he was.

"I sing what I feel Jax. It was the right thing to sing last night."

"What else did you sing?" He placed the laptop next to him and motioned for her to sit down. She knew this was treading dangerous waters; being too close to Jaxon caused her to be overcome with waves of desire. She needed to stay afloat. She chose neutral territory plopping onto his beanbag chair in front of his game console. He smirked at her safe choice.

"
Hollaback Girl
by Gwen Stefani" She answered with a shrug.

Jaxon tossed his head back laughing. "Of course that would be an appropriate song choice. Why didn't everyone send me that one?"

She smirked. "Because it was the first song I sang. Most of the people in the room didn't know my vocal capabilities. Think they were catching onto my theme by the 2
nd
song."

"And your 3
rd
choice" He asked cringing at the possibilities.

Carina raised her eyebrows. His reaction was interesting to say the least. "There was no 3
rd
song. I was done for the night when I realized that everyone was overanalyzing my song choices."

"But they had a reason to..." Jaxon pressed.

She shrugged. "It's really nobody's damn business but mine."

"Mine too" He whispered.

Carina looked at Jaxon. Somehow he'd managed to simultaneously look defeated and hopeful all at the same time. How could someone with so much swagger falter with one breath?

"I looked up the lyrics because your voice haunted me too much to keep listening over and over." He tentatively began. He looked at her a moment before continuing. "IF I was to believe the lyrics had merit... It would explain your sudden and unexpected departure. It would explain why you've refused to give me another chance. It made me feel like I understood your side a little better."

Carina held her breath. Her heart skipped a beat. This was the most Jaxon had ever talked to her in depth like this without trying to get physical. "Pray tell" She whispered. Jaxon was talking and she didn't want him to stop.

Jaxon put his laptop on his desk and sprawled onto his bed. She figured it was easier to talk when you weren't directly looking at someone. They'd been more physical than anything else. Before, they rarely called each other except to arrange their next bedroom session or to go clubbing.

"I get why you've kept your distance... What happened that one night was more than a humble reminder to both of us; I've been playing that guy for so long but it's not who I used to be. It's not who I want to be."

"Who are you then? What happened to you Jax?" She asked. She needed to know if there was any hope of having a future with Jaxon Wright. If he was the eternal playboy then she needed to get him out of her system once and for all.

He remained silent for a long time. Carina leaned back accepting the fact that they'd only have a relationship that was only at face value. She didn't even know his favorite movie or what his hopes and dreams were. There were too many unknowns between them to even make something worthwhile of a relationship.

Jaxon threw an arm over his face. Carina struggled to hear him. "I wasn't always a man-whore." He whispered. "I fell hard for a girl at the end of my junior year in high school. We were together all summer and throughout our senior year; we even planned to go to the same college. She wasn't good about always taking her pills and she got pregnant towards the end of our senior year. We were both scared and not ready to be parents. Right after graduation she went to get an abortion..." He paused and sat up to look at her.

Carina held her breath unsure of what emotions prevailed at the moment. She felt disbelief at Jaxon for making it seem like it was only the girl's fault for getting pregnant.
She got pregnant.
Like he had nothing to do with that part... She bit the inside of her cheek. She was dying to know if Jaxon had guilted her into the abortion or if it was the girl's choice but it wasn't her place to ask.

Jaxon brought Carina out of her introspection. "There were complications with the abortion and... she... was... gone..." He choked out. He covered his face with his hands and shoulders shaking as he silently wept.

Carina gasped. She hadn't expected that to be the ending of the story. She crept to Jaxon placing her head on his chest. He held her tightly, his body wracking with silent sobs. Her heart ached listening to his muffled sobs. What does one say to that? She couldn't relate. Was it guilt or grief that weighed heavier in his heart? It was over three years later and he still cried for the girl he loved.

She looked at him. She wanted to apologize but for what?
Sorry for your loss Jax. Know you didn't want the baby but that still has to suck.
Jaxon pulled Carina onto him. She allowed him reveling in his strength and warmth.

"Thank you for telling me" she whispered. It didn't exactly explain why he'd gone from monogamous to man-whore but it shed some light into his past. She kissed him softly cupping his face while deepening their kiss.

"I never thought I'd feel that way again" Jaxon whispered with watery eyes. "I'd felt like a zombie for so long. Sex brought a moment of feeling; momentary relief from the emptiness but it was always short lived. But you've made me feel alive again. I want more than just a fleeting moment."

She swallowed the lump in her throat. She couldn't believe that he hadn't found anyone else to thaw the wasteland of his barren heart. She didn't want to hear confessions of love and unspoken promises.

Jaxon hastily pulled her dress off. He flipped her onto the bed and quickly tore his shirt off. He sucked in his breath admiring as she lay there in only bra and panties. "Don't leave me again Carina not until you've really given us a chance."

Her breath froze in her lungs. She mutely nodded as a tear slid down her face. He looked so beautiful and vulnerable but truth-be-told she was absolutely petrified to give him more than her body... Even after knowing his haunting story.

He kicked off his jeans and boxers. His erection sprung free. She bit her lip. Jaxon was the embodiment of a Greek God. He was Zeus reincarnated. He leaped off the bed going to grab one of his neckties. Carina laughed knowing his intentions. It had been so long since she'd played this game. She eagerly held out her wrists as he tied them together. "Good girl" he breathed.

He tied her to the bedpost. He took his time with her. He ran his fingers down her jaw to her throat. His eyes burned a trail of fire just as his touch did. She arched her back as he reached her breasts. It was exquisite torture to not be able to touch him too. His mouth pulled hard at her breasts. She writhed beneath the pull, her inner thighs moistened with her fluids.

"Marking what's mine" He muttered into her breasts.

"Don't you dare" Carina hissed knowing it was too late. She could already see the bright cherry red marks marring her skin.

Jaxon chuckled as his lips continued to trail a path of fire down her stomach. He played with her belly button ring but didn't stay long. Her womb clenched with anticipation.

"Jaxon" she breathed.

"Yes belleza" he whispered blowing warm air between her thighs.

She tried not to cry out with frustration while he took his sweet time. His fingers and mouth worked their magic as she coiled inside. Jaxon pulled away before she peaked. She thrashed beneath him wanting him to finish what he started. He clucked his tongue as he hovered over her.

"My turn" she pleaded.

Jaxon smiled stroking his erection against her cheek. She tried to turn her head and put it in her mouth but she wasn't fast enough. "This should be fun" he purred. "No hands..."

He stroked his shaft as she licked her lips. He was torturing her on purpose. He wasn't inside her and she was about to spontaneously combust. She stared at the pearl liquid dripping from his tip. "Mouth closed" He instructed. She smiled coyly having missed bossy Jaxon.
