While I was at least in part relieved to finally find out from a reasonably solid source - if you could consider Anatoly that, Nick was who he claimed to be - an MI6 agent. Anatoly clearly feeling secure in his floating palace had no reason to lie. As a former KGB agent he would have the connections to know exactly who Nick was. The confirmation brought me no comfort however since I had stupidly fallen for his cunning plan to trap me whilst rescuing Nick despite the fact he had already escaped.

Why I hadn’t asked for proof he had him I do not know. It was stupid and reckless. My love and desperation to save Nick had blinded me to the simplest tradecraft of not believing others with motives that are unclear.

Anatoly probably didn’t care that much that I had killed his brother. It was just another part of his game of chess. He cared only about winning and capturing me - his brothers assassin and keeping me as his plaything. Like keeping a fearsome bird of prey he would prove his superiority at playing the
game
by holding me captive.

The prospects ahead didn’t bear thinking about. Being repeatedly raped, abused and humiliated by the despicable creature was a fate worse than death. I could only imagine what perverted acts he was planning to perpetrate against me. I felt sick.

I had survived every ordeal that Roy could throw at me and escaped the carnage of a train wreck only to end up captive on a luxury boat. A living sex doll for the amusement of a vile Russian gangster.

I tried to loosen my bonds but they had been very thorough and no matter how much I struggled all I managed to do was inflict more pain on my wrists. I still had the PPK. Stupidly they had thought I had only brought one gun - my Beretta and having relieved me of it in the dining room hadn’t bothered to search me. Unfortunately I couldn’t reach it. I only hoped I would have chance to release it before Anatoly got close enough to put his disgusting wrinkled old cock anywhere near me.

An hour or so passed. I lay on the bed and sobbed quietly. I felt the boat start to vibrate as the engines started and movement as the boat got under way. A couple of hours later after it had gone dark finally the key turned in the lock and Anatoly arrived to claim his victory prize.

I looked at him with contempt and disdain which only seemed to delight him further.

“Comfortable my dear?” he asked as he walked over to his wardrobe and started to undress. “There is no need to look at me like that. We both knew how this would end. You are most talented my dear but there is simply no substitute for experience.”

“Didn’t work for Vlad did it?”

He laughed as he removed his shirt revealing is large gut.

“My brother was a victim of his own excess. But I am curious as to how you managed to dispatch him in the secure confines of a public passenger jet?”

“Trade secret,” I replied. Anatoly removed his trousers to reveal a leopard skin thong. “Nice,” I said sarcastically.

“I will take great pleasure in
you
my dear.”

“The feeling won’t be mutual,” I spat angrily.

Anatoly approached the bed.

“You will get used to it.”

He dropped his pants to reveal a minuscule and shrivelled excuse for a cock.

“Not much to be proud of,” I said.

“I can assure you where I am going to put it, it will feel big enough.”

Anatoly climbed onto the bed. As soon as he got within distance I kicked him as hard as I could. He just laughed.

“Quite the wild one aren’t we!” he said.

I kicked him again but he caught my leg. He was probably twice my weight and with my hands bound I wouldn’t be able to fend him off. He climbed on top of me and started to massage his tiny wrinkled old cock into life groaning with excitement.

“You really are disgusting,” I told him.

He reached up and undid one of the handcuffs.

“I think we will have you facing the other way,” he said rolling me over. He pulled my coat off and discarded it.

“What have we here?” he said as he spotted the bulge where my PPK was hidden.

Quickly I pulled my spare hand free and grabbed it ripping it off my back. I did my best to aim it at Anatoly and fired a shot but missed, he grabbed my arm and wrestled with it.

“Get the fuck off me you rapist!” I protested.

“Quite dangerous aren’t you!” he laughed, his superior strength managing to wrench my arm against my back. He bent my wrist backwards until the PPK fell onto the bed. He picked it up and smiled then put it to my head.

“Go on! Do it! Shoot me! I’d rather be dead than be fucked by an animal like you!” I told him with hatred.

“Now don’t be like that my dear.”

He started to pull at my leggings. Suddenly the lights dimmed then flickered and then went out completely pitching the room into darkness. Anatoly sat up with surprise and swore in Russian. The boats humming engines whirred to silence and the boat lurched as it lost power then drifted to a halt. Anatoly reached across to the phone next to the bed. He tapped on the hook three times trying to get tone.

“Hello…Hello?” but he got no response.

There was a huge dull thump and the boat rocked and shook slightly. I could hear Anatoly’s breathing become more nervous. Seconds later the unmistakable sound of automatic gunfire could be heard amidst shouting on deck. Anatoly looked down at me.

“What is this?” he asked me.

But I honestly didn’t know, only that it was bloody good timing and whoever it was I hoped it would end badly for Anatoly. There was continued shouting. Anatoly climbed off me and walked slowly to the door to investigate. There were screams, thuds and explosions on the deck then the sound of splashing as bodies hit the water. Through the cabin windows the black night outside was being lit up with repeated flashes of gunfire. Holding my PPK Anatoly cautiously opened the state room door, as soon as he did so a whole line of bullets shot through the door landing in the upholstered lining of the wall above the bed. He quickly shut the door and locked it before standing clear of it.

“How is this possible!” he said in shock.

He turned round and looked at me then he dashed forward, his flaccid erection now having shrivelled away as the sudden fear gripped him. He scurried over to the bed and undid my other handcuff. I tried to struggle but his size meant he had a firm grip on me. He grabbed me round the neck and put the PPK to my head using me as a shield against whoever or whatever was about to come through the door.

“I know I’m probably going to die,” I told him. “But the most satisfying thing is knowing you aren’t going to live.”

I felt him tremble and with good reason as it sounded like world war three had broken out on deck.

Then it all went quiet.

We both watched as underneath the door to the stateroom a flash of a tactical light could be seen approaching. It stopped. There was a burst of suppressed automatic fire that riddled the door with bullets in a neat line around the lock then an almighty thud as the attacker kicked it in.

Both Anatoly and I were blinded as the bright light shone in our faces accompanied by a red laser pointer that trained first on me then straight on Anatoly’s head. I felt Anatoly tense his finger on the trigger and push the PPK harder against my temple. I squinted at the attacker but could only make out a black figure in a balaclava.

“Don’t move or I’ll kill her!” Anatoly shouted.

The attacker didn’t respond.

“I mean it! You move and I’ll kill her!”

“Please shoot him! He was going to rape me!” I protested.

The figure switched off the tactical light and pulled off his black balaclava. My heart leapt with joy. It was Nick!

He tensed his finger on the rifle trigger.

“Let her go,” Nick said calmly.

“Put your gun down or I will kill her Mister Salinger!”

Nick looked me in the eyes then at Anatoly.

“It’s over Anatoly. Let her go,” Nick repeated.

“I can promise you even if you take your shot she will die before I do!”

I could see Nick calculating his options. He was a good marksman but he knew the risks. Slowly he lowered his rifle. Without warning Anatoly moved the PPK from my head and pointed and fired it twice at Nick who fell to the floor.

“Nick!” I shouted.

Anatoly laughed as he brushed me aside and walked across to where Nick was lying. The underpowered PPK had winded him but he was clearly still alive. Anatoly walked over to finish him off.

“Bad luck Mister Salinger,” he pointed the PPK at him. “You lose this time.”

I grabbed my Louboutin and ripped the heel casing off. I charged at Anatoly and with a banshee scream took the shoe with both hands and as Anatoly raised his PPK to finish Nick off stabbed the needle of the heel straight down into the middle of Anatoly’s fat neck. He screamed in pain as the four inch long needle went straight through his throat. I wrenched the shoe sideways breaking the needle off leaving it in his neck.

Anatoly swung round with his huge arm and knocked me clean off my feet and clutched his throat gasping for air. Unfortunately the toxin would take up to three minutes to take effect but Nick seized his opportunity and raised his MP5 up. He squeezed the trigger riddling Anatoly’s naked chest with red bullet holes. His body shook with the impact until Nick had emptied an entire thirty round magazine into him.

Anatoly finally slumped to the floor in a huge red pool of blood. Nick lay on the ground, the barrel smoke pluming through the tactical light. He shone the light over at me.

“You okay?” He asked. Nick dropped the MP5 and rested his head on the floor and took a deep breath feeling down on his chest at the red blood spot where the PPK had wounded him. He smiled before grimacing in pain.

“I’ve decided. I’m retiring.”  he said.

Chapter 30

NICK AND
I abandoned
La-Perla
. Having disabled the engines and killed the Russian crew she was far too big for us to manage. We took the largest tender and headed back to Monte Carlo. I sat on the end of the boat wrapped in a blanket gazing at Nick. He smiled back at me, ran a hand through my hair and kissed me.

“I missed you,” he told me.

“I thought you said I was always getting you into trouble?” I smiled.

“Yeah, but I kind of like that,” he grinned.

“So. Your mission is done then?”

Nick nodded.

“Anatoly is dead. Roy is dead. You got your money back. I think we are done.”

“So what now?” I asked.

“Well I don’t know about you but I need a drink.”

I took out the bottle of Champagne I had stolen before we left
La-Perla
and opened it and handed it him. He swigged it back from the bottle. I gazed out at the lights of the shore. I shrugged my shoulders.

“You know I don’t think I will ever understand why any of this happened,” I told him.

“I thought you said you didn’t care why?” he said. “Anyway what were you doing on the boat?”

“I came to rescue you,” I said.

“Really?” Nick said surprised.

I frowned.

“Well what were you doing on the boat?”
“I came to rescue you,” he said.

“How did you know I needed rescuing?”
“You always need rescuing,” he said smiling.

We arrived at the Harbour and tied the boat up on the dock and walked up through the quiet streets.

“Let’s get a pizza,” I said.

“You’ve got your money back. Surely that’s a little cheap for you?” Nick said surprised.

“I’ve learnt to appreciate simple things.”

We headed to the Pizza place and ordered a Pepperoni Pizza and two beers. As we were eating Nick looked under the table.

“What are you doing?” I asked him.

“I’m making sure I’m out of range of those shoes.”

“You like them?” I said with a grin now my secret was revealed.

“You bring a whole new meaning to killer heels,” he said.

“They do come in useful,” I said with a wink.

“I think we’re all done killing people.”

“Not quite” I said. Nick stopped eating and looked at me. “We didn’t get poor Foxy back yet.”

Nick put his pizza down and shook his head.

“How much trouble could you get into in Essex?” he asked.
“I don’t know. Look what happened when I went to Hackney…”
