She was enjoying that hug a great deal when he pulled away and said with a slight frown, “However, since you are so very fond of rakes, I fear you will be disappointed in me. You see, I have grown tired of my wild ways and have already begun repairing my reputation. In fact, my love, you are liable to find me too tame by half.”
But Jane only smiled and shook her head, then drew his mouth back down to hers. For she knew that, though he might no longer be a rake, to her, he would always be her own beloved highwayman.
