Author’s Note

R
afe’s concern over Napoléon’s possible purchase of a fleet of Baltimore Clippers was not unfounded. The sleek-hulled sailing vessels were unique, fast and extremely maneuverable, far more so than the heavier, clumsier, full-rigged British ships of that time. In fact, just a few years later, during the War of 1812, American privateers, many of them sailing the amazing clippers, used them just as Rafe and his friends had feared, capturing or sinking more than 1,700 British merchant ships.

Fortunately, Napoléon’s naval forces never commanded such a fleet.

I hope you all enjoyed Rafe and Dani’s story, the final book in the NECKLACE TRILOGY. If you haven’t read
THE BRIDE’S NECKLACE
and
THE DEVIL’S NECKLACE,
I hope you will soon.

Till next time, happy reading!

All best wishes, Kat
