No sight could be seen of Isabella or Jonnard whatsoever.
The wolfjackals lifted their heads to the sky in a long, triumphant howl. They whirled about. Lightning crackled off their silvery-black forms, and the clouds gathering opened up to take them in, as the two stared.
The quiet lasted only a moment. Then their crystals burst with voices, and Jason leaned back, listening to the Magickers, and he laughed.
