“Then, when I saw you come in tonight, looking shaky and flustered, your blouse missing a button, I got so angry. I didn’t know what happened and—”

“Nothing happened!” she interrupted, disgruntled as she remembered her date. “All I wanted was a kiss.” Jimmy cocked his head as she spoke and let go of her hands. Sabrina smoothed her palms down her thighs, then stopped as she caught him watching.

“Sounds like you’re more disappointed than upset,” he mused. She nodded, still thrown by his statement about being “an adult.” He reached for her again, and she let him pull her forward. Their knees bumped, and Sabrina felt the heat of his body through the denim. She blushed, sneaking a look at his face just as he moistened his lips. Did he know how attractive he was?

Jimmy continued. “Well, I’m sure you got the whole safe sex lecture in school and all that stuff, but I just wanted you to know that if you have any specific questions, you can come to me. I know the things they cover aren’t really good at explaining how it really feels.” Sabrina inhaled sharply, then coughed in disbelief. Her eyes darted everywhere before settling on his jeans, where the fabric pulled tautly over his groin. Did he really mean it? Could she ask him anything? She dragged her eyes back up across his chest, then decided to take a leap and ask, reasoning that embarrassment never killed anyone. He smiled at her encouragingly.

Sabrina took a deep breath. “Um, my date tried to kiss me tonight, and I really wanted to see what it was like to, you know, really kiss and all that, not just a peck on the cheek, and then before I knew it, he’d stuck his tongue down my throat, and it was all slobbery and disgusting. And I should know all this stuff by now, I mean, I’m probably the oldest girl who’s never been kissed!” she blurted, then covered her face with her hands, embarrassed beyond endurance. She was such a ninny!

“No, no, don’t hide, it’s okay,” Jimmy said gently, leaning over and pulling her hands away from her face.

“I’m so embarrassed,” she moaned.
Ugh!

Jimmy smiled. “Don’t be! It’s a perfectly reasonable question, and to tell you the truth, most people don’t figure out what the hell they’re doing until they attempt the stab-and-swallow approach enough times to realize that slow is really the better way to do it,” he said. Stab and swallow? Sabrina couldn’t help but chuckle at his apt description. He laughed in response, and they both relaxed.

“So, how do they do it?” she asked. Could she hope that he would demonstrate? Sabrina looked at his face and couldn’t keep her eyes from wandering down to his full lips. He was no longer smiling, but when she dragged her gaze back up to his eyes, his whole face quirked into an irreverent grin just as he leaned toward her, stopping when his mouth was only a breath away from hers. Was he going to kiss her?

“Would you like a demonstration?” he murmured, low and deep. She shivered, feeling the warmth of his breath on her face. “Strictly for teaching purposes,” he continued. She could only nod her head dumbly since she didn’t trust herself to make any sort of coherent answer at this point.

“Okay, then,” Jimmy said, cupping his right hand on her cheek. His palm warmed her face as she felt the first delicate touch of his lips just before she closed her eyes. She shook so hard that he reached his other arm around her, gently gripping the loose hair at her nape, immobilizing her head. He held her steady as his closed lips slowly rubbed back and forth over hers. Heat rushed through her. He coaxed her mouth apart so gently that Sabrina jerked when she felt his tongue lick her top lip.

“Steady,” he whispered, as she hesitated. “This is how a real kiss ought to go.” This time, his tongue brushed against her lower lip, and she opened her mouth slightly. He slanted his face over hers, fitting his mouth against her lips, brushing lightly against her with his tongue. She felt him suck at her, then he licked into her, sending a hot rush through her body. She shook, then tucked her arms helplessly around his neck, rubbing her aching nipples against his chest as he continued to dip into her mouth, tasting her teeth, her lips, and finally her tongue. She couldn’t believe how soft he felt, how sweet and minty he tasted.
He must have been eating a peppermint
, Sabrina thought absently when he pulled back. She moaned in disappointment, dazed. She couldn’t believe Jimmy had actually kissed her, a real kiss. She never expected him to touch her like this.

“If you want to learn how to kiss, you have to kiss me back,” he murmured as he released her hair and ran his index finger around the swirls of her right ear. “You taste like strawberries, sweetheart.” Jimmy dragged his hand around her throat and then pressed it against his cock. Sabrina watched as he tried to adjust himself. He looked uncomfortable, but in control, his movements careful as though he didn’t want to scare her. She looked up and trembled. His eyes were dark, more serious than she’d ever seen him. It was like he wasn’t the guy she thought she knew, as if Jimmy were a complete stranger. It struck her then that he might be as affected by this kiss as she was.

“Okay,” she whispered and leaned in. He tilted his head, opening his mouth. She reached out with her tongue to taste his lips. He was sweet and warm as his tongue met hers, sliding over and into her mouth again. She returned the favor, slipping into him and exploring, seeking out the slightly crooked tooth that she’d always found so attractive. Jimmy shuddered and gripped her shoulders, tilting her head back until his tongue moved hotly into her, meeting hers again and again. She lost track of everything as he pulled her closer, running his hands up and down her back as she clutched at his shoulders. Suddenly, he tore away, tucking her face into his neck and holding tightly as he breathed harshly into her ear. Dimly, she realized that she was panting, too, gripping the fabric of his shirt in her fists.

“You caught on pretty damn quick, Sabrina.” Jimmy pulled back after a minute, looking wrecked.

Sabrina let go of his shirt, watching as the wrinkles she’d pressed into the soft material bunched up over his biceps. She licked her lips, wishing he hadn’t stopped. He looked at her, eyes intense, then smiled as his face relaxed. He was still breathing hard when she snuck a glance at his lap, where his firm cock still strained against the seam of his jeans. She looked up and caught him watching her peek. She flushed, trying to pull herself together.

“Wow.” She smiled tentatively. “How could my date have been so icky, and you be so yummy?” She hoped he would kiss her again. She tried to ignore the heat of his thighs where they pressed against her legs, and clasped her hands together, wishing they were still wrapped around his shoulders.

“Experience counts for something, you know,” Jimmy smirked. She rolled her eyes, and he chuckled.

“So, can I really ask you anything?” She rubbed a hand on her knee, the thought of their mind-blowing kiss spurring her on.

“Anything,” he stated. “I’ve often thought it silly that our society has such taboos about sex that people grow up confused and knowing nothing. Some people never figure out how to please their partner, and others come to expect that sex will never be very fulfilling.”

Sabrina nodded, squirming in embarrassment but still wanting to hear what he had to say. There was so much she didn’t know.

“Ask me anything, Sabrina.”

Of course, as soon as he spoke, her mind went completely blank. She knew what the technical details of sex entailed, but she wanted to know how it felt. She dropped her gaze to his bare feet.
Even his toes were sexy.
She sighed, wanting him to kiss her, touch her, show her how to touch him back. How could she ask him for that?

“Um, I’m not sure what to ask,” Sabrina stammered, feeling completely ridiculous. “Isn’t it easier to just, you know, go with the flow?” She waved her hand in a circle.

Jimmy nodded. “That’s true, but on the other hand, most of what I know I learned from a very good teacher.”

“A teacher?” Sabrina asked, surprised.

“Not a teacher like you’re thinking.” Jimmy smiled at her again. “I was about your age.” He settled back into the couch. “I’d just realized that I was attracted to people of both sexes, and understandably, I was a bit unsettled about that. I mean, figuring out you’re gay is one thing, figuring out that you’re bisexual is quite another.” Sabrina nodded, thinking about how difficult that must have been for an eighteen-year-old guy.

“The summer after my high school graduation, I went to Europe for the summer for a writing scholarship award. It was a two-month trip, so my dad went with me, along with the second and third place winners of the scholarship competition and their parents.” She nodded, remembering. Her dad and Charlie, Jimmy’s father, were good friends. They’d all hung out a lot together before that trip, and she remembered missing the barbecues and movies they used to watch together in the summer. Then, of course, Jimmy’s dad died and Jimmy went away to school. They never got to spend time together again until now.

Jimmy continued, not noticing her distraction. “I loved it, the scenery, the food, the history of the land, and the people were fascinating. Then, two weeks before we were due to go home, my dad had to leave early to deal with some work emergency. I was eighteen so it wasn’t a problem, but it was still the first time I was on my own.” Sabrina couldn’t imagine how that must have felt. She would probably have been scared to be alone so far from home.

“I was a little frightened when he left, but it was only for two weeks. We were in Edinburgh, Scotland, staying in rooms over an old pub. It was really cool. The bar was owned by a local family, and the son of the owners worked there on the weekends. He was five years older than me and absolutely gorgeous. By the second day, I had such a crush I couldn’t stop stammering.” Jimmy smiled, his eyes soft.

Sabrina shook her head, knowing exactly how he felt. “I can’t imagine you that shy,” she said. Jimmy chuckled, picking up her left hand and idly stroking over the back of her fingers, sending a tingle up her arm.

“Oh yeah, I was a mess,” he said. “His name was Brodie. He liked to wink at me. I didn’t know what to do. Theoretically, I knew I was attracted to guys, but I’d hung out with girls so long I thought that maybe I was mistaken. Then, boom!” Jimmy laughed. “Brodie happened. I had the hots for him immediately.”

Sabrina smiled. She still couldn’t picture him acting shy and uncertain. Jimmy always seemed so self-contained, or at least, he did until tonight when his hesitation before he’d kissed her became obvious.

“Did you already know how to kiss by then?” she asked.

“Oh yeah, that was the easy part.” Jimmy grinned at Sabrina.

“Well, you obviously have a natural talent,” she retorted, thinking about Darrin’s kiss and how different it was from kissing Jimmy. “I mean, all Darrin did was slobber on me.”

“I like to think I have more imagination than most guys,” Jimmy smirked. Sabrina whacked his arm lightly with her hand, and they both laughed. “Seriously, Darrin may have just been a bit eager. I was so scared the first time I kissed a girl that all I did was brush my lips against hers. I didn’t learn how to do anything with my tongue until I met Brodie. That probably saved me tons of humiliation.”

She shook her head in disbelief, trying to ignore how hot the thought of Jimmy kissing another guy made her. She shifted, hoping he couldn’t tell. When she looked at him he seemed to be concentrating on a spot just over her shoulder, lost in his memories. She tried to imagine him being an inexperienced eighteen-year-old.

“So, what happened next?”

Jimmy sighed, then continued his story. “The fourth night we were in the city we came back to the rooms after touring Edinburgh Castle. I was completely wiped so I went upstairs to nap before dinner. Of course, that meant I slept right through the meal! I woke up around ten p.m., starving, and wandered down into the pub to see if they had anything to eat. Brodie was there. They don’t normally serve dinner, but he found some rolls and cheese and an apple for me. I sat at the bar as he took care of the customers, and we began chatting. After he got off work, he asked me out for a walk.” Jimmy smiled while Sabrina listened, entranced. “By then he’d been flirting so heavily with me that I’d finally figured out what was going on.”

“Did he kiss you on your walk?” she asked, trying to imagine them embracing in the cool dark. Did anyone see? Did they care?

“We weren’t two blocks from the pub when he grabbed my arm and pulled me into one of their little alleyways,” Jimmy said. “The next thing I knew, he leaned in and put his face next to mine. We were about the same height, and he says, ‘I want to kiss you, can I?’ in that charming accent of his. I had enough presence of mind to nod. And that, as they say, is that.” He released her hand and leaned back against the leather of the couch. He looked unbearably smug.

“Jimmy! You left out the best part!” Sabrina argued, crossing her arms, trying to frown at him and laugh at the same time.

“Oh, but I just
showed
you what he did, Sabrina,” Jimmy teased.

“Well, what about the rest of the two weeks?”

“Brodie and I spent all our free time together until I had to leave. Let’s just say that I learned a lot about how to appreciate being with someone,” Jimmy replied, his face losing some of its humor and turning thoughtful.

“Is it really different, kissing someone of your own sex?” she asked him, then looked away quickly when he caught her eyes. She could tell he was amused by her blush.

“Actually, though the plumbing may be different, the way you care for your partner is the same for both sexes,” he answered. “Sure, there are things you do differently, but the feelings are the same. Women need a little more time to come to a climax than men, but both sexes like being kissed and stroked.” With that explanation, Sabrina blushed so furiously she was amazed that her face didn’t burst into flames. She tried to imagine Jimmy making love, distracted by the idea until he leaned forward again and her attention snapped back into reality. Her heart started pounding as he neared, but just as their lips touched, his cell phone rang. Jimmy sat back up and sighed, looking around for his phone before remembering it was in his jeans pocket. He laughed sheepishly, then checked the call.
