A knocking from the other room startled her and the weight of the stranger’s hand disappeared. She turned around to find she was alone. The knocking continued.

Kayla’s eyes fluttered open. Her breath was lost, though she couldn’t say as much about the throbbing between her legs. It was definitely there, carried over from her dream…along with the knocking sound. She sat up and looked at the clock—ten after twelve—and suddenly she remembered the landscaper she’d made an appointment with. He was probably the source of the knocking.

She jumped from the couch and ran to the door, opening it before she realized that she was in nothing but a shirt and panties. But when she saw who was on the other side, she wasn’t worried about what she was wearing. He was the last person she expected to see. “What are you doing here?”

* * * *

Son of a bitch. At the sight of her, Gannon felt the blood rush from his face. “I…uh…I’m here for my uncle, the landscaper. He had to…” His eyes drifted to her taut nipples protruding from under the thin white shirt. He wanted his mouth on them. “He had to go out of town for a few weeks.”

“And you know about landscaping?” she asked, nibbling on her bottom lip, causing his cock to twitch. He wasn’t sure if she believed him, and he was afraid she would send him away. And she probably should after the way he’d treated her.

“I worked with him every summer for years, so, yeah, I do.” His gaze found its way to her bare legs. The obvious firmness made his hands shake and sweat, and the thought of what lie between them, what he had already gotten a small taste of, made his mouth water.

Her eyes went over him. She crossed her arms over her chest. “You should go.”

He stared at the door and thought about leaving. She was right to not want him there, but as much as he tried to get his feet to step away, they wouldn’t move. He had to explain, and it was now or never. She had to know he wasn’t a complete jerk. “What happened earlier…that wasn’t me.”

Her lips twitched as if she might smile. “Which
happening
are you talking about? The pancake chef? The raging asshole? Or the one in between?”

Sensing he would be given a second chance, the corner of Gannon’s lips turned up. “The asshole.”

Kayla let out a long sigh and pushed the door all the way open. “I shouldn’t let you, but, come in,” she said, her voice taking on a business tone. “I need the front and back yards done. I have some ideas about the design we should go over.”

Gannon stepped inside. He wanted to go over her, every inch of her, with his tongue.

“Have a seat.” She gestured to the sofa. “I’ll get some paper and a pencil so we can get started.”

He examined the room. Beige walls, a burgundy couch which he sat on, a deep green reading chair with an end table next to it stacked with books and a lamp. A large picture window with the curtains half-drawn looked out to the front yard.

Kayla walked to the table in the dining area and leaned across it. The open room left him a perfect view as her t-shirt lifted, exposing her flawless ass, barely covered by hot-pink lace panties. He imagined himself behind her, looping his fingers around the fabric and pulling it down to her knees, all the while, her begging him to fuck her. He shuddered at the thought and pressed his hand to contain the growing beast in his lap.

Kayla glanced back and smiled at the hunger on his face. His eyes were growing urgent, his lips pressed firmly together, she would have him in a few short minutes. She pretended to search for a pencil as her left hand reached around to adjust and smooth the lace across her skin. She smiled as she heard him gasp. He was watching.

“I found one,” she announced.

When she’d opened the door a few short minutes before, at first she was angry he was there, but it didn’t take her long to realize how advantageous his appearing at her house would be and she planned to take full advantage.

“Do you have anything in mind?” she asked, sitting on the sofa. Facing her body to his, she crossed her legs, fully aware her shirt was hiked to her hips, exposing her panties and the puffiness of the lips on her sex. She leaned in closer than she needed to and handed him the pencil and paper, smiling as his eyes drifted between her legs.

“Huh?” he asked.

“The yard, do you have any ideas? I do, but I’d like to see what you come up with first…since you’re the professional.” Kayla leaned back and propped her back against the arm rest, knowing the position would lift her shirt just above her panty line. She rubbed her hand across her stomach and left it there.

“I…uh… I don’t usually… My uncle… I basically do the leg work.” Gannon fumbled with the words as he glanced at her from the corner of his eye.

Rare form. Why does his presence put me in ‘rare form’?
She examined him—messy brown hair, dark eyes, beautiful, red lips…
Because he’s freaking hot as hell!

“Leg work?” She lifted her eyebrows suggestively.

His face became strained.
Hell yes!

Gannon, no longer able to resist her, in an instant of weakness reached over and grabbed her by the waist, pulling her up on him. Her lean thighs straddled his legs. “You’re killing me,” he growled. He loved the bright blue of her eyes, her long dark hair, and light fair skin.

Kayla’s hands gripped his shoulders. Her thumbs caressed the skin of his neck and he remembered how earlier at his house, her mouth was there. Her expression went serious, and for a moment they just sat there soaking in one another.

No. He couldn’t do this. He shouldn’t do this. In the past, giving in to his desires always left him empty and he turned into an ass. He didn’t want it to be that way. Not with Kayla. Not like earlier.

“Touch me,” she groaned.

When he didn’t move, she took his hands and put them on her breasts. Gannon moaned, unable to refuse the feel of her nipples prodding at his palms through her shirt. He slowly slid his hands down until her erect nipples sprung between his fingers. The temptation too great, he caved. He leaned in, putting his mouth inches away from her cotton covered breasts.

His tongue swirled around the taut buds. Kayla whimpered softly and he nibbled with his teeth, then with his lips. His hands pressed between her shoulder blades, bringing her closer. She yelped with pleasure. Under other circumstances, he would have continued, but with her, he knew he’d let himself get carried away and he had to gain control. With great reluctance, he pulled his mouth away from her.

Gannon tilted his head, resting it against the back of the sofa, and closed his eyes, his hands planted on her hips. “We shouldn’t do this.”

But Kayla was undeterred. With his neck fully exposed, her tongue traced its length to his lips. She crawled up him, and the heat of her pussy rested on his stomach as her face hovered over his. The intensity in her eyes made him aware of each pulse of blood filling his erection. Her tongue gently outlined his lips.

He groaned. “It shouldn’t be this way.” Even as the words left his mouth, he kissed her. Light at first, then deeper, massaging her tongue with his. The feel of her lips, soft and plush against his, sent his mind into a frenzy. He pulled her closer, closing the already small space between them. Gannon’s hands slid under her top, against her skin and up her waist.

She laughed into his mouth and pulled away long enough to slip her shirt over her head and toss it across the room. “What about now?” she asked, her chest heaving with each breath, her voice low and raspy. “Will you fuck me now?”

He nodded his consent, afraid his speech would get lost in the hammering of his chest. Kayla gripped his shoulders, biting on her bottom lip. His hands cupped her breasts, kneading and caressing. His mouth took turns suckling and nipping at each one.

Kayla grabbed a fistful of fabric from his shirt, wrenching him to her. “Kiss me.”

Their mouths locked, and she clung to him as if he would pull away. He would never pull away. Not now.

He untangled a hand from her hair and slid it down her back. “Take off your panties. I want to see you.”

* * * *

At first she was hesitant to leave his lips. She had never been with a man who kissed as passionately as he did. And when she peeled off of him to do as he’d requested, her body pleaded to be against him again. She stood up and slid the hot-pink lace over her legs. His eyes soaked in her every curve.

Gannon moved to the edge of the couch. His hands slid up her thighs, making her legs weaken. His thumb found her swollen clit, massaging its pulse. Before her knees gave-way, she moved back to him. Straddling his legs, spreading her center, she took off his shirt.

Cupping her heat and wetness, he slipped a finger inside. She groaned and frantically began to struggle with the button on his jeans, all the while her hips rising and falling, taking in his finger. His full, swollen prick pulsed under her hands. She wanted to feel it inside her.

“Your pants,” she said, moving aside, giving him room to pull them off. Her eyes widened at his size. She suspected he was big from what her hands had told her, but she didn’t realize he was
big.
Thick and long and about to be filling her.

She wrapped her hand around the throbbing cock and moved her mouth to him. At first, her tongue caressed its span, flicking at the sensitive spot just under the tip. Her lips rounded the puffy head, and she let it slide into her throat, her tongue massaging and swirling around the girth. Gannon moaned as she bobbed over him, filling her mouth, sliding her lips to the base, her pussy thumping and begging to be pounded by the hardness she had captured in her throat. She raised her head, letting the cock slip from her mouth, her hand automatically taking its place.

“Do you have…” She struggled for air, her voice ragged. “A condom?”

He nodded and reached for his jeans, fumbling for the wallet in his back pocket. She took the package from him, tearing it open with her teeth, and sheathed him.

Kayla positioned her opening at his tip. “Don’t hold back,” she whispered, and then she filled her center with him. Simultaneously, they gasped.

His hands squeezed her ass as she rode him. “Go to the floor,” he growled.

Kayla nodded but found it difficult to pull away long enough to do so. He flipped her over, laying her back on the cushions, filling her, thrusting into her. The pleasure on his face sent her over the edge, and she tugged at her nipples, her mouth opened, her back arched. She yelped his name, climaxing, quivering. As if her gratification finished him, he released, groaning. Shaking, he pressed against her, his mouth finding hers, both of them fighting for oxygen.

Kayla met his dark eyes. Her chest swelled as she tried to catch her breath. “Oh. My. God,” she whispered, throaty and sparse. The intensity in his stare made her heart skip. “Who are you?” she asked slowly, not wanting the anxiety taking place inside to show.

As soon as she asked, she wished she hadn’t. Although she found herself wanting to know him, she knew it was in her best interest not to. He worked at a bar, lived over it even. Probably one of those guys who took home a different woman every night. Although something inside her told her the man in front of her was different. She knew having him once would not be enough.

She shrugged. “I just don’t know your last name is all.”

“Knight,” he said.

She laughed out loud. “As in the bar…
Night
?”

“Yep.” He kissed her neck, working his way to her lips. “It’s mine.”

“Huh. Wait. I know a Knight.” Kayla moved out from under Gannon and found her shirt, pulling it over her head. “Luke Knight. He was a year below me in high school. Do you know him?” She tossed Gannon his jeans.

* * * *

Gannon stood and turned from her as he pulled his jeans on. “Yeah, about that…” He stopped himself, afraid to tell her the truth—that he was Luke, the scrawny kid with pimples, the one that people made fun of—everyone except her.

“What?” She unconsciously batted her eyelids at him waiting on him to finish. “What about Luke?”

Gannon put his shoes on and slipped his shirt over his head. “It doesn’t matter.”

“Are you leaving?” Her voice was soft and he thought he caught a glimpse of frustration in her eyes but she’d turned away just as quick, leaving him guessing at how she would react if he did take off. Would she want to see him again if he did? Would she want to see him again either way?

Determined not to be like his past self and more like the person he wanted to be for her, he said, “I was hoping to grab a late lunch…with you…if you want to go.”

Gannon’s heart skipped when she didn’t answer immediately. He watched as she sat on the couch and pulled her knees to her chest, her dark hair falling across her shoulders. Her pouty, red lips were parted slightly, and her blue eyes were fixed on his. He caught himself not breathing at how damn beautiful she was, and in that moment he knew that the feelings he’d carried for her since high school had increased tenfold.

Her gaze followed him as he walked across the room and went to his knees in front of her. He took her ankles and pulled her from the couch, wrapping her legs around his waist, loving her playful squeal.

He leaned in to kiss her, but she moved her head back and gave him a thoughtful look. “Don’t feel like you have to take me out because of what just happened. I’m a big girl. I can deal.”

He took a strand of her hair and rubbed it between his forefinger and thumb. “Maybe I can’t…deal. Maybe I’m hungry and there is no one else I’d rather have lunch with. You’re killing me.”

She grinned, and her eyes sparkled. “Mm, how’s that?”

His gaze drifted over her face, stopping at her full, slightly parted lips, and he couldn’t take not kissing her any longer. Gannon slid his hand behind her neck and guided her mouth to his, shivering as she responded by seeming to melt against him. Could he ever get enough of her?

She pulled away, her sudden movement leaving him wanting. Her eyes held a certain amount of surrender. “We can do lunch, but I’m buying.”
