Come for me, baby,” he whispered, nipping at her ear. “Trin,” he groaned, “please, love, I want to feel you come on my cock. It’s been so long. Please, give it to me, baby.”

She loved it when he talked like that, and when he called her baby and love. It made her feel special, like she was the only woman on earth that was worth of his love and attention. They both increased the speed and intensity of their movements until she screamed his name and dropped her forehead to his shoulder. It took several moments for the tremors to ease from her body, leaving her limp and spent. Laszlo showered her shoulder and collarbone with kisses. She stroked the nape of his neck, holding on to him for as long as she could.

“I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of this, of you,” he said in between kisses.

Mmm,” she said sleepily. “Me neither.” They sat like that, in each other’s arms for several minutes.

Are you okay?” He took her face into his hands and looked into her eyes.

Yeah,” she whispered and smiled. “I feel great.”

He searched her face.
“No pain? Don’t lie to me, Trin.”

She chuckled softly.
“I swear. I’m fine, Laszlo. I’ve never felt better.” His sigh of relief let her know that he believed her.  “I am hungry though.”

Laszlo laughed.
“Me too.”

I’ll go make us some breakfast,” she said, climbing off his lap and instantly missing the warmth of his body.

Hey.” He grabbed her wrist. “You can ask Janice to cook, you know. That’s what she’s here for.”

Trinity gave his lips a chaste kiss.
“Maybe I want to cook for my husband.” She got off the bed and grabbed her silk robe, slipping it on and tying it around her waist.

Well, I’m not about to argue with that.” He got out of bed and went to his dresser. Trinity admired his naked body, his strong arms, defined abs, and firm ass. Damn, he was a vision of perfection. “I’ll take care of all these candles, and then I’ll be down.”

Okay.” With a smile, she left the room. There was a renewed bounce in her step and she couldn’t stop smiling.

CHAPTER 3

As Laszlo made his way downstairs, he heard Trinity in the kitchen humming to herself. He smiled. Stopping in the doorway, he leaned against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest. A few minutes ago she was naked in his arms, h
er face contorted with pleasure—pleasure only he could give her—and she’d looked breathtaking. And now she was wearing a short, silk robe, standing in their kitchen cooking for him and she looked absolutely stunning. Every time he thought of her, thought of how much he loved her, how his life would end if she weren’t a part of it, it clutched at his heart.

Pushing off the door jamb, he walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her stomach.
“I love you, Trinity,” he whispered. Somehow, those words didn’t come close to expressing how he really felt. No words ever could.

She turned in his arms and put her arms around his neck.
“I love you, too.” Then she pulled away and frowned. “You’re dressed.”

Yes.”

Why? You said last night that you’d spend today with me.” She removed his arms from around her and took a step away from him.

Shit! He was kind of hoping that she wouldn
’t have remembered that. Taking a deep breath, he said. “Trin, love, I have to go to the office this afternoon. I have a couple of meetings that I have to take.” He didn’t want to tell her that these meetings held the potential to hold the fate of his entire company, or that the outcome of these meetings would determine just how much of a presence Jason would have in their lives. He didn’t want to tell her any of that because he didn’t want her to worry. The stress wasn’t good for her or the baby. It was his job to protect her, protect his family.

With a nod, Trinity turned around, shut off the stove, and then walked out of the kitchen.

What the hell? “Trinity,” he called as he followed her. For a moment he thought she’d gone back upstairs, but then he saw her sitting on the couch. She had her elbows on her knees and her head cradled in her hands. Laszlo kneeled in front of her and removed her hands from her face. “Trinity, love, what’s wrong?” He had a feeling this had to do with more than just the fact that he had to go to the office.

It’s not supposed to be like this,” she said. Her lips trembled when she spoke and he knew she was on the verge of tears.

Like what?” He brought her hands to his lips and kissed them. “Talk to me, baby.”

We’re supposed to be on our honeymoon. We’re supposed to be making love every chance we can and pretending that the rest of the world doesn’t exist.” She stood and paced the room. “Instead, you’re running off to work while I’m stuck in this house getting fatter by the day. It’s not fair.” That’s when the tears started. “This isn’t how things were supposed to go.”

Laszlo got to his feet.
“Come here,” he said, pulling her into his arms. “First of all, you are not fat, nor are you getting fatter by the day. You’re pregnant, Trinity. There’s a difference.”

Whatever,” she mumbled.

He couldn
’t believe she thought she was fat. She was just starting to show any evidence of even being pregnant. He put his finger under her chin and tilted her head up. The sight of her tears broke his heart. There was nothing worse than seeing her cry. “You are just as beautiful today as you were the day I met you.”

She turned her face away from him, but didn
’t say anything.

Laszlo sighed.
“Look, Trin, I know things didn’t go as we’d hoped they would, but,” he turned her face to him again, “that doesn’t mean our wedding was any less special or that I feel any differently about you.” He kissed the corner of her mouth. “I love you more than anything, and we will have the honeymoon you’ve dreamed of. I promise.”

“I know. . .
it’s just. . .” She shrugged. “I don’t know. I guess I just expected that we’d be spending more time together even if we weren’t on our honeymoon. I hate being away from you. I’m—”

You’re what?” he asked when she didn’t finish her thought.

I’m scared, Laszlo. I’m scared that something will happen to the baby and you won’t be here. I’m scared that Jason is back in our lives. You haven’t said it, but I know that’s the reason you’re spending so much time at the office. Why, Laszlo? Why is he back?”

He rested his forehead
on hers and closed his eyes. This was not a conversation he wanted to have with her. She’d just admitted that she was scared. He did not want to add to her fears. “I’m handling it, Trinity. Please. I need you to trust me. Let me deal with Jason, okay?”

You don’t have to protect me, Laszlo.” She broke free from his hold again. “I’m your wife now. You need to trust me! Trust me to support you, to help you.”

Laszlo blew out a breath and ran a hand through his hair.
“I do trust you. But, as your husband, I want to protect you. I want to take care of you. And I do not want to make you worry or stress you out. Besides, there’s nothing you can do to help. I’ve got everything taken care of.”

Slowly, Trinity shook her head.
“You’re not a single man anymore, Laszlo. You don’t need to do everything alone. Isn’t that what being married is all about?” Then she left the living room and headed upstairs.

Fuck!” He plopped down on the couch and sighed. She was right. He had a wife now—a wife who trusted him, loved him, supported him. Other than his own archaic need to keep his wife barefoot and pregnant so that he could protect her, there was no reason he couldn’t tell her what was going on. It involved her. She had a right to know—especially if things didn’t work out in his favor.

He stood and made his way upstairs. Trinity was lying on the bed, curled up on her side, hugging a pillow. Without a word, Laszlo climbed onto the bed and snuggled up behind her, draping his arm over her.
“I’m sorry, baby. I thought I was doing the right thing by protecting you from all of this.”

How bad is it?” she asked, her voice strained from her tears.

Bad.” He nuzzled her neck. “Jason wants a seat on my board and if I don’t give it to him, he’s going to kill the Davis deal.” He heard her breath hitch at his words. Laszlo had spent hours talking to Trinity about the Davis deal and how important it was to the company. “Natasha is working with him, so he knows things he shouldn’t know.”

Why is he doing this?” She rolled on to her back and looked at him. “Is this because of me? Because of what I did to him?”

This wa
s exactly what Laszlo was afraid of—that Trinity would blame herself for all of this, and it wasn’t her fault. If Jason hadn’t beaten her, threatened her—she’d done what she had to do to survive. Laszlo would never blame her for that, but he knew she wouldn’t see it that way. She wouldn’t be so easy on herself.

It is, isn’t it?” Her face paled even more than it already was. “Oh God, I’m sorry, Laszlo.” Lips trembling, cheeks wet with fresh tears, and eyes red and puffy, Trinity buried her face in his chest and cried.

He pulled her close and held her tight.
“This is not your fault, Trinity.” God, he wanted to kill Jason. Laszlo wanted to make Jason suffer just as much as Jason had made Trinity suffer all those years. That would teach the bastard. But, Laszlo wasn’t in the business of killing people, no matter how badly he wanted to. No. He’d get rid of Jason in a more acceptable way.

Laszlo rubbed his hands up and down her back.
“Baby, tell me what I can do to make this right for you, for us?” He couldn’t handle knowing she was upset with him.

Trinity lifted her face to look at him.
“I want him out of our lives for good. I hate him. I hate him so damn much.”

I know.” He kissed her forehead. “I know, and I’m doing everything in my power to make that happen.” Laszlo gently guided her onto her back again. “He will never hurt you again, Trinity. I promise you that.”

But he already is,” she whispered.

His heart took off like a runaway freight train. Jason was hurting her?
“What? How?”

By keeping my husband from me.”

Holy mother of—
why hadn’t Laszlo realized this? She was right. By pulling all of this shit, Jason was effectively keeping Laszlo and Trinity apart. That slimy piece of shit! As if he wasn’t determined before, he was more than determined now. Laszlo wasn’t just going to prevent Jason from getting his hands on Laszlo’s business, Laszlo was going to destroy Jason’s political career in the process.

All I want is to be with you, Laszlo.” She scooted up and captured his lips in a slow kiss. “I just want my husband.”

He groaned when she nipped at his bottom lip.
“You have me, love, I’m yours. I’ve always been yours, baby.”

“I know that, but even when you’
re home, you’re not really here.” She reached for his tie and loosened it until she was able to pull it from around his neck and tossed it to the floor. Then she began to unbutton his shirt.

Once again, she was right. Since everything had happened with Jason, his mind had been preoccupied with how he was going to fix things. The only time he
’d really been one hundred percent here with her was this morning when they’d made love. God, he was off to a shitty start as a husband, wasn’t he? Well, it was time to change that. He had an army of professionals working on this problem. For a little while, he could let them deal with Jason. He had to focus on his wife. Hell, that was all he wanted, too.

It’s not easy on me, either, you know. I hate knowing I have to leave you.” Laszlo tugged on the string of her bathrobe and it fell open. “You are so beautiful,” he said, lowering his mouth to hers. “Please forgive me.”

Trinity yanked on his shirt, pulling it free from the waistband of his pants.
“Make love to me again.”

He couldn
’t tell her no under normal circumstances. There was no way he’d tell her no right now—not that he wanted to. He continued to kiss her as his hand grazed down her stomach and between her legs, which she spread to accommodate him. He dragged his fingers along her folds, and then circled her clit. She moaned into his mouth and clutched at his arm. “You’re so wet, Trin.” He slipped two fingers into her pussy and she gasped with pleasure. Her pussy always got so wet and he loved it, loved knowing his touch aroused her so much.

Kissing you does that to me,” she whimpered as he increased the speed of his fingers moving in and out of her.

Fuck,” he groaned. Laszlo removed his fingers from her, gathered her hands into his, pinned them above her head, spread her legs with his knees, and put his body over hers. He pushed his erection against her. “That’s what kissing you does to me.” His lips greedily devoured hers. “Makes my cock hard every damn time,” he said.

Laszlo continued to rub against her, his cock jerking and getting painfully harder each time she lift her hips into him, each time she
’d moan or bite at his tongue. Christ, he couldn’t take it anymore. Not wanting to release her or take the time to finish undressing, he reached down, unzipped his pants, and freed his cock. He rocked into her and they both moaned long and loud. “God damn, you feel so fucking good.” His pace increased in speed and intensity. He just couldn’t help himself. His self-control was shot the moment she asked him to make love to her and there was nothing he could do to regain it.

Trinity strained against the hold he had on her hands.
“I want to touch you.”

He released her hands and they went straight to his ass, which she squeezed, holding him inside of her. Then she tucked her feet around his legs and rode the motion of his hips. Laszlo put his weight into his arms and peered down at her. The look of desire in her eyes stole his breath, but also encouraged him to keep going. He lowered his head to her breasts and closed his mouth around one of her nipples. She arc
hed into him and cried his name. He stilled inside of her, knowing that one slight move would have him coming instantly and he wasn’t ready for that yet. Laszlo smoothed the hair from her forehead and gave her a soft, languid kiss.

She scraped her fingernails up the length of his back, making him shudder.
“Don’t stop, I’m okay,” she whispered, grinding and rotating her hips against him.

Her slight movement was like billions of fireworks going off inside of him.
“You’re trying to kill me.” He chuckled. Then, with agonizingly slow movements, he began to move in and out of her again. He was doing good keeping his pace steady, letting the pleasure build between them until they were both ready to explode, but when he felt her pussy tightening around him, squeezing and milking his cock for all he had, he lost it.

Laszlo!” she screamed and writhed beneath him as if she were trying to get closer, trying to entice him deeper into her body. “Oh my God! More, don’t stop, please don’t stop.”

Fuck, Trin.” He shifted his weight onto his arms and fucked her with jackhammer quick thrusts until they both gave in to their orgasms. She clenched his dick so hard it was almost painful, but nothing could’ve prepared him for how hard he came, or how intense her orgasm was. He swore he momentarily blacked out from the pleasure of it, of her. Laszlo buried his face in her neck and tried to calm his breathing. He felt her heart beating just as hard as his when he kissed her neck and throat.
