Read The Edge of the Fall Online
Authors: Kate Williams
She was right. He'd done it before. He did the thing and then he was free.
In one quick moment, he moved his body forward to the edge of the cliff. He pushed hard with his torso, his whole being, using all his might. Louisa didn't scream, she was too shocked to scream. He shoved hard with his hands. He felt her cling to him, try to clutch, and then her grip faded. She shrieked, an awful, desperate cry.
He lifted his head, whispered to the sky. âI've done it,' he said. âI have!'
There was no answer. The girl had gone.
