Robin opened his mouth to say something but he just turned and walked down the hall to the bathroom they shared and shut the door. The lock clicking loudly in the quiet of the night sent a clear message to Josh. Stay out. Stay away. Not welcome.

Josh stood there looking at the closed-door feeling like a fool.

Once he heard Robin step into the shower, he reached up to the top of the door jam and got the flat key that would pop open the lock. Got to love that Uncle Leo was always prepared for all scenarios.

Standing in the steamy bathroom, he waited taking deep calming breathes. He was terribly upset seeing Robin with Brad.

Robin going on a date was a reminder that he could do so anytime he chose. And those dates weren’t going to be with him.

What made everything worse was that the Brad guy was good looking. Hell, he was exactly Robin’s type. Josh just knew it! Brad looked like one of the alpha males from one of Robin’s novels.

He had dominant male written all over him. The fucker must be smart; after all, he was in graduate school. Uncle Leo said he was even going to travel to Cambodia the summer after next. Josh couldn’t compete with that.

The frilly shower curtain that Uncle Leo’s wife had picked out a very long time ago was sliding open dragging Josh back to the present. Robin didn’t jump because he knew was there. Robin always seemed to know when he was around. Averting his eyes, he handed Robin a big fluffy blue bath towel. Robin wrapped it around his slim hips and accepted a smaller towel to dry his hair.

Robin must have been nervous because he was biting his lower lip. He was trying not to look at Josh. It was like he was just waiting for him to verbally attack him again.
Damn! I am a
complete prick!
Josh tried to not watch the beads of water slowly roll down Robin’s body, down his lightly muscled chest, down his toned arms, down his flat stomach into that towel. Josh’s eyes were hungry to look their fill but he forced himself to look into Robin’s face.

For a long while, they just stood there. Robin wouldn’t look him in the eye. Finally, Robin lifted his gaze. Josh wanted to get lost in those big blue-green eyes forever. This particular shade of blue-green, though impossible to replicate, had become Josh’s favorite color.

Robin went still. Josh moved slowly to stand in front of him.

Josh took the smaller towel out of his hands so he could dry those long dark tresses gently. He put hunks of hair between the folded towel to pat them dry. Again and again the procedure repeated itself.

Closing his eyes, Robin seemed to relax, accepting Josh’s unspoken apology. They stayed in the bathroom for a long time because Robin’s hair was almost dry when Josh took a wide toothcomb to slowly drag through his locks.

“Mmmm,” Robin moaned softly after Josh exchanged the comb for the brush. He slowly scraped the bristles against his scalp and dragged through the long strands.

Growing up, Robin loved having his hair brushed, combed, and played with. Their mother used to spend lots of time grooming their hair as she talked to them about their day, their friends, what they were going to do at school, and what they had done at school.

When their mom died, Josh took over and brushed Robin’s hair for hours. Especially right after she died. It seemed to be the only time Robin wasn’t crying. It was one of the ways he was allowed to connect with him.

As was his habit, Robin leaned back into Josh’s body just a little, melting as his hair was brushed. Josh kept up the slow steady pace, pulling the brush through Robin’s long hair. His hand was following the brush, smoothing the hair as he went.

“It wasn’t a nice thing to say.” That was as close to a reprimand as Robin could come up with… the guy was just too sweet.

“I know. I am an idiot. I was wrong and out of line.” Robin turned his head to look at him. “I’m sorry.”

“Why?” It was a simple question with a very difficult answer.

Josh shrugged and wanted to play dumb but knew that wasn’t enough. “I guess I was jealous.” He pulled at his tank top that was beginning to stick to him.

Robin’s big innocent eyes looked up at him in surprise. “Really, why?”

“Why?” Josh’s laugh barked out at the silliness of the question.

If Robin didn’t know then telling him wasn’t going to help much.

Running his fingers through the long dark hair he had just brushed, he looked down.
How could he ask that? He knows.
“You know.” Josh’s voice was hushed in the warm moist bathroom.

The space seemed to become more intimate with his admission.

A strangled sound escaped Robin as he moved to the door wanting to escape. His towel slipped but he caught it at the last second. Robin went into their room and quickly opened his dresser drawer. He pulled out a pair of blue cotton briefs, the ones that Josh knew cupped his ass just so.

Keeping his towel on he tried to pull on the underwear. The fabric wasn’t cooperating and it twisted around his ankles as the terry blue towel fell to the floor. Robin and Josh both gasped. His delicate body was now on full display.

It had been months since they had their night of heated abandon in that run down dive of a ‘no tell motel’ and Josh needed more. The way Robin’s cock snapped up and hit his belly, Josh knew he wasn’t the only one hungry and desperate. Seeing that long prick in profile caused something to break loose in Josh.

The next thing he knew Robin was laid out on the bed with his knees parted and him between them making a feast of that beautiful cock. That delicious cock was spearing his lips as Josh’s head was bobbing to give it entrance into his mouth and then a nice slow exit.

Robin was making halfhearted attempts to stop Josh’s progress but lightly pushing at his shoulder and saying, “No, we can’t,” didn’t really stop him.

The groans of need that escaped Robin as Josh’s tongue danced a path up and down the solid ridge of flesh caused him to push his own shorts to his knees. Josh’s fist wrapped around his own cock as he mouthed Robin’s.

“We shouldn’t,” Robin choked out as Josh’s tongue was circling his crown. Trying to pull back, Robin breathed out, “We can’t.”

Another groan of denial was heard as Josh tried to give him the best blow job ever. His mouth caressed the velvety shaft, as Robin’s words said, “No. We can’t.” But the fingers wrapped in Josh’s hair pulling him closer joined with his body’s thrusting to beg, “Yes! Please!”

Josh was listening to Robin’s body.

Sighing in defeat, desperate to stop his body’s reaction as his hips moved to get more cock into Josh’s mouth, “Can’t lose you too. Can’t. Please, Josh, don’t.”

Josh pulled off for a moment to reassure him. “You won’t lose me, Robby,” he said before he enveloped the cock in front of him right down to the root.

Guilt spilled out with his words between moans of enjoyment.

“We’re brothers. We grew up together.”

“But we aren’t related.” Josh would say it again and again.

Maybe at some point Robin would get that. They weren’t brothers and nothing he wanted to do to Robin was
brotherly
. His feelings had always been well past that.

Robin’s dark head of almost dried hair came off the bed to stare at him. “Brothers don’t leave. We can’t.” Inhaling hard and trying to prevent the inevitable, he seemed determined to make Josh agree to it.

“You are everything to me. I’m not leaving. Come for me,” he said before loving that cock right back into his mouth.

“No, can’t leave me.” Robin seemed to be holding on to his control by a thread. He was exhaling hard.

He slid back up Robin’s shaft to lick around the crown before answering. “Not leaving. Promise.” Josh gave the cock in front of him a nice long lick. “Now come.” His mouth engulfed Robin’s length and sucked.

Robin nodded slightly and his head dropped back to the bed. Within a minute, his body bowed off the bed and he was shooting streamers of cream straight down Josh’s throat. Feeling the cream hit the back of his throat made Josh grind down on the bed. Relishing the feel of his erection getting the friction it was so desperate for, he was caught him by surprise when he came.

The next morning played out like all the other mornings that would follow the momentary lapses in Robin’s boundaries.

Sometimes months would pass, other times it was mere days between these explosive, physically satisfying bouts of uncontrolled passion. The conclusion was always the same. Robin would create distance and re-establish that they were brothers.

Josh would be cut to shreds by the rejection but, as always, he would accommodate Robin’s needs.

Days, weeks, and months were accounted for in Josh’s head by determining how much time had passed since they were last together. It was rather pathetic so Josh tried not to think about it.

Time seemed to blend together while he waited for the next time Robin would allow him in.

That was until a man named Angel Luv walked into Uncle Leo’s shop. Angel Luv blew into town to do some singing with a band that was playing the local bars. He had made quite a name for himself even if the band was shit. Josh had heard his name mentioned by some of Uncle Leo’s students but never bothered to go hear him. Robin didn’t do the whole club scene so what was the point?

When Angel Luv walked, strutted really, into the shop and introduced himself to Uncle Leo, Josh wasn’t paying much attention to him since he and Robin were in another dimension working through a new song. So he was completely unaware that their music had caught the guy’s attention.

Josh didn’t realize how their lives were about to change.

The guy returned with a woman a couple hours later. Robin was softly singing the lyrics completely unaware that anyone was in the shop, totally focused on hearing how the words he had just rewritten matched Josh’s music.

When they finished playing the song called ‘Anthem For The Broken Hearted,’ they heard clapping. Angel Luv, who had come back into their shop, said, “See, Megan, didn’t I tell you?” The dark haired man certainly had a presence.

“You did.” She said it with a smile. “Hi, I’m Megan.” Stepping over to them she held out her hand to shake both of theirs. “So, are you boys musicians?”

Robin’s mouth dropped open in surprise and Josh just chuckled at the very suggestion.

Uncle Leo stepped around the counter and said, “Yes they are.”

Angel grinned at them before turning his attention to Uncle Leo to say, “Well, good because I have a proposition for them…”

Hospital, present time....

Dusty was crouched down in front of him, talking, rambling really. Josh didn’t have a clue what he was actually saying. He was watching the guy’s lips move but all he could think about was Robin.

Losing his Robin.
Bad enough he couldn’t even really have him.

It was sick to be in love with someone who wanted you only as a ‘brother’. Besides, at some point in time, Robin will find a great guy who will give him what he needs and take him away from me.

Funny, that thought used to shred him but now that pain would be welcome.
I want Robby to find a nice man to be good to him and give
him everything I couldn’t. As long as he is alive I could deal with it. I could
fucking deal with anything just as long as Robby lived. He had to pull
through this. There is no way I am going it alone. No way. No fucking way.

Dusty was still talking to him. Sighing deeply, Josh tried to focus. If he paid attention maybe Dusty would just shut the hell up. So he put some effort into it so he could figure out what the hell the drummer was rambling about “...and Robin will be fine.”

“Robin? What about Robin?” Josh went from the mumbled thoughts from the hell he produced in his head to high alert and ramrod straight in the uncomfortable chair.

“The doctor said Robin will be fine.” Dusty grabbed him up in a tight hug.

Josh pulled back. “He’s okay?”

“Yeah, that what I have been saying for the last five minutes.

Wow, that sedative they needed to give you really affected you, dude.”

The horrible thoughts that were messing with him dried up. Robin was going to be okay. Wait, what the fuck was Dusty talking about now? “What sedative?” Josh asked realizing that he was processing everything at a distance.

Angel put a hand on his shoulder. “You lost it a bit. The doc thought it best.”

Dusty snorted. “Yeah, for everyone else.”

He was feeling really impatient. He didn’t really care what the hell Dusty and Angel were talking about. The main thing was Robin was okay. “I want to see him.” Josh’s heart was pounding at the thought.

Darius stepped up. “He’s not awake yet but he’ll be fine.

They’ll take good care of him.” Dare handed him a tissue. Josh hadn’t even realized he needed one. “But first you have to take care of yourself. Go get yourself together and then the nurse will take you to see him for a moment.”

Josh opened his mouth to argue but Angel spoke up. “Don’t let him see you like this, man.” Looking at his lead singer, he knew the man spoke the truth. He must look like shit.

With a curt nod of his head, Josh went in search of a restroom.

He felt pretty groggy.
Sedative? Did they dose me? Fuckers!

Looking in the mirror he saw what the guys didn’t want Robin to see.
Fuck, I look like shit dragged behind a truck,
he thought, splashing water on his face and pushing it through his hair.

He’s okay. He’s fine. He’s fine. He’s okay. Robby is okay.
Letting that sink in he, started bawling like a baby. The ‘What ifs’ that had been kicking his ass hard vanished. Robin was okay. He could take him home and make him better. Sobs of relief racked his body for several minutes before he pulled himself together so he could go see Robin.

Walking back to the private waiting room he had flashes of memory. Hmmm, well if he acted half as out of control as the memories he was having it was clear why they tranq’d his ass. He supposed apologies were in order.

“Hey, guys. Sorry.” He looked over at Dusty and noticed the swollen eye for the first time. Josh winced; he really had decked the guy. “So sorry, dude.” He held out his hand in apology.
