(Japanese seven gods of luck):

(Aram., tranquillity). A formal promise, in Judaism, to marry at some future date. The promise is generally confirmed in writing, and the date of the
marriage
and the size of the dowry would be specified. The betrothal is an important stage in marriage, and some authorities, such as
Elijah b. Solomon
, consider that it is better to marry and divorce immediately than to break a betrothal.
Shiguseigan
(Jap.). ‘Four great vows’ in Zen Buddhism. They are part of the
bodhisattva
vow as recited three times at the end of
zazen
