Chapter Thirteen

Antonio Wayne

I’m sitting at my desk, dreading the phone call I have to make to my brother. A woman was shot on my watch and now I have to answer to my crazy ass brother for it. This is exactly why I don’t like women involved in the intricate parts of business; I’m old school. Women and children are to be protected and nurtured. I know that sounds ironic because I’m a sexual sadist, but my wife is a willing partner. I really don’t want to tell Ricardo about this. If I’m old school, my brother is ancient. He is not going to be happy about this at all. In the end, my deciding factor to get it over with comes down to the fact that I would rather he hear it from me. Diego is very loyal to my brother and I need to beat him to the punch. If I don’t, I’m going to be in a world of shit with Ricardo. He is the only person who makes me tremble at the thought of his anger. I guess the psychological
big brother status
remains throughout a lifetime. His voice breaks over the line and cuts through my apprehension.

“What happened?!?!”

Fuck…this is not good.

“Hey bro, it wasn’t my call. If that crazy ass Miller wants his woman as his partner, that is none of my business.”

“Was she under an order from one of our crew when she was shot?”

“Nope, Miller sent her to get the women. I guess he thought she would be safer. That bitch, Rosalie, shot her when she came through the door. She was laid up in bed, waiting with a gun tucked under the pillow.”

“Where is Stormy now?”

“Still in surgery.”

“I want updates on how that woman is doing as they happen.”

“You got it, bro,” I answer, breathing an inward sigh of relief. The worst is over. He never answers me and all I get in response is him hanging up. Though he’s still pissed, the worst is over. I exhale the stress that is hanging over me and make my way down to the built-in hospital ward of the castle.

I had it built for times just like this. A gunshot wound is a telltale sign of illegal activity. It’s the reason hospitals are legally bound to report them. The last thing I need is Agent Turner getting wind of this. If he so much as finds out Miller is in town, it won’t take much for him to put two and two together.

The hard soles of my designer shoes notify Miller that I’m here and we both look over to see the doctor removing his mask. He’s making his way over to Miller with what I hope is good news.

I stand with Miller and listen to the best news I’ve heard in the last couple of days.

“She’s tough. That bullet ripped through arm, shattering some bone but she survived it. A few inches over, it would have hit her abdomen and that would have been bad. I went in and took out the bullet and some bone fragments. She will be fine other than scarring, which no woman is ever happy to hear. The only thing we’ll need to watch for is infection. She needs to stay here for two or three days before I’ll release her.”

We both stand to shake his hand and he makes his way down the hallway to his room. I already know he will be staying here while Stormy is under his care. I take a moment to inform Miller that he needs to stay out of the club with Agent Turner being in town. I want him hidden at the castle and nowhere near the club. He agrees and we make our way to Stormy’s room to visit and see how she is doing. I can’t put the relief I feel into words. It would have been absolutely unbearable to have her die on my watch.

Miller

I rush over to see the woman who holds my heart in her hands. I lean down, gently kissing her forehead with tears in my eyes. “Oh, baby girl, I’ve never been so happy to see anyone.” She gives me a faint, weak smile.

“Hey guys, I’ve got some things to tend to. I’m very glad to see you are okay, lovely. Anything you want, just push that button and tell my staff.” He winks at her and continues, “If you want more drugs, just push that IV button. It’s set up so you get what you need but you don’t get too much.” He turns towards me, “Don’t forget what I told you about staying out of sight with Turner being in town.” With that, he turns and makes his way from the room and I’m glad for the time alone with the love of my life.

“Girl, you scared the shit out of me. What happened?”

“I made my way into the room where the captives were and she was lying on a bed, watching TV. I took my eyes off of her, just for a second, and the bitch pulled a gun out from under her pillow and shot me.”

“That’s all it takes is a second, just a second to lose my world…”

Stormy

I look up into the eyes of the strongest man I know and he is crying. I guess I’m his kryptonite because I have never seen this superman cry for anyone or anything. To be honest, I’m flattered. He buries his head in my lap and I hold him, running my hands through his hair but saying nothing. Sometimes no words are needed, especially with a bond as strong as ours.

I know he feels guilty but this isn’t his fault. If I know him like I think I do, he thought sending me after Rosalie would be safer. No one expected her to be so hardcore and tainted from her abduction. Though she came in innocent, she went out no different than Eduardo.

“Fucking Turner is in in town.”

“Agent Turner is here in New York?”

“Yep, we have to get the hell out of here, girl. I need you to hurry up and get well.”

“I need you to stay out of Antonio Wayne’s club and away from his women.”

“Well, you’re in luck because the last thing I need is Turner seeing me here and putting two and two together about that hit last night.”

“Oh…so the only reason you aren’t out partying is because you don’t want Agent Turner to see you?”

“Nah, I’d rather be here with you.”

“Since we’re stuck inside anyway, how ‘bout a marathon movie day of shoot ‘em up, bang bang movies?”

“Sounds good to me, baby. Though I will probably be in and out as far as nodding off, I would love nothing more than to spend the day with you watching movies.”

I alternate scratching my fingers over the shorter, shaved sides of his head and working my way through the long, brown hair on top. If I keep this up, we’ll both be asleep.

Chapter Fourteen

Antonio Wayne

As much as I love seeing Miller and Stormy, I’ll be glad when she is healed up and they get the hell out of my city. Last night’s episode has everyone on edge and that includes me. I’m not doing any fucking time in prison. The fact that Agent Turner is sniffing around is making me very nervous.

I walk around a corner and catch Roxanne talking to a couple of the girls. I ignore them, pushing Roxanne into the wall, and they scatter.

“I’m stressed out. Maybe I need my cock sucked.”

“It isn’t my fault you’re stressed out and I have no intentions of messing up my make-up to suck your cock, Tony.”

I take my finger and run it all over her lips, purposely smearing her lipstick. She is really going to be pissed off now.

“Damn it, Tony!”

“I grab a handful of her hair, pushing her down to her knees and glare at her, “Don’t ever tell me what you will or won’t do, girl. Oh, and one more thing…if you so much as graze my cock with your teeth, I’m going to string your ass up in the dungeon and do God only knows what to you.”

She makes some growling noise in defiance of me and just about swallows my cock. What the fuck do I care about her little act of rebellion when what she is doing to me feels so damn good? My hands lock onto to fistfuls of her hair as she takes all the stress and strain and drains it from my body. I love this redheaded, feisty, crazy ass wife of mine and I will do anything to keep her safe and keep me out of prison. I can’t imagine life without her.

“Oh fuck, baby, you feel so good,” I groan as my balls tighten up right before a warm spray hits the back of her throat. I take a minute to gather my wits before I speak.

“Go freshen up. I’m certain FBI guy will be here snooping around and it needs to look like business as usual. Oh, and Roxanne…”

“Yeah,” she says, turning and eyeing me with those bright green, emerald eyes of hers.

I kiss her forehead, “Thank you…I love you, girl, and I most certainly love the way you love me…”

She smiles and makes her way out of the darkened corner and into the dressing room.
