It took all of three seconds for their lips to come
together in a soft symphony of flesh.

Lightly his hands worked to remove her clothing. She was
already hot and wanting as his fingers slid between her thighs, caressing her,
making her moan into their kiss.

All barriers between them were lost in the firmness of
their commitment and the solidity of her decision.

She spread her trembling legs wider as he wrapped his
arm around her waist to support her weight.

He kissed his way down her neck, his fingers already
racing to give her an orgasm. She was already slippery wet from his hands
covering her, but the anticipation of him piercing her flesh had her waiting on
baited breath.

His fingers worked her slick clit, making her eyes
flutter and breathing nearly impossible, but still she felt no fangs.

“Take my blood,” she half whimpered half groaned as the
first tremors of her climax ripped through her.

Instead he dipped his head lower taking the tightly
pebbled tip of her breast into his mouth, grazing his fang against it in a
blatant tease.

Digging her nails into the thick muscles of his
shoulders she let the orgasm over take her, each wave of pleasure hitting her
stronger than the last, until she was completely spent, her body hanging limply
in his arms.

Swooping her up
he
carried her
to the center of his enormous bed, the black silk sheets engulfing her perfect
skin.

“You didn’t take my blood,” she murmured, her voice
raspy and sated.

“I will,” he grunted, his eyes ravishing her body, “when
I feel like I’ve properly pleasured you.”

Casstiel’s mind was on fire as he prowled closer to her.

Blood always tasted sweeter when the human was sexually
satisfied, so he was going to give her as much as her body could handle, and
make sure the act was as good for her as it was going to be for him.

He ran his hands up the front of her legs from ankle to
knee and watched the goose bumps flare to life. Normally he would give her a
few minutes after her first orgasm to let her relax before he started again,
but he couldn’t this time.

With the slightest nudge of his hand her thighs spread
wide and he took a long slow lick of the wet flesh between them.

A hiss escaped her lips as her back bowed and her eyes
popped open wildly. She was still so sensitive, even the slightest touch sent
her writhing.

Her fingers clenched into fists in his hair while he
repeated the sensual taste.

“Casstiel,” she whimpered, pushing at his head, “wait… I
can’t.”

“If you want me to take your blood, this is how it has
to be,” he breathed heavily against her soaked flesh.

Her body quivered beneath him, and his ego roared.

His hands set to work immediately, caressing the small
mounds of her breasts and filling the tight opening of her body.

Her breathing was so heavy he couldn’t get enough of it.
He wanted to give her more, to push her to the absolute limit of what she could
handle.

Carefully he slid a throbbing fang against her swollen
clit then greedily sucked it between his lips.

Now that she had opened the door for him he wouldn’t be
able to control himself, once he was inside her he would need to take her
blood, the urge would be overwhelming.

She clenched around his fingers moaning incoherently,
her body twisting underneath his. Desperate for her to have a second climax he
pumped his fingers into her harder, faster.

“I want you inside me,” she moaned feverishly, “I want
your cock filling me.”

He lapped at her sweet honey like a starving man, not
yet ready to give up the taste.

“Please,” she whimpered, and that small word sent his
plans to hell and had him adjusting his position.

Tessa felt the sweet pain of Casstiel stretching her
body to fit him.

He drove into her hard, his body savagely slapping
against hers. She strained her hips to meet against his thrusts, Sweat beading
her brow as they road against each other in a passionate frenzy.

Gripping her ass he lifted her up higher, his fingers
digging into her flesh as he drove himself deeper.

Desperately she flung her arms around his neck pulling
him down for a heated kiss. Their hot breaths mingled, tongues twisting with
all the urgency in their clinging bodies.

The need for him to take her blood grew fiercer with
each moment she came closer to her climax.

Her body felt like it was shattering apart. She was on
fire, so hot she couldn’t breathe, and somehow she knew the only cure for the
burning was his bite.

She needed it now; didn’t know how much longer she could
take it if he didn’t press his fangs into her.

As though he could read her mind, without any more
prompting than the tossing of her head, Casstiel placed his lips over her moist
neck.

The moment he pierced her flesh a glorious ice cold numbing
rushed through her body. Every part of her began to tingle with the delicious
cold, leaving her in an exotic state of euphoria.

Casstiel completely took over the sex, driving himself
hard and fast into her body as she lost herself in the mixture of cold numbing,
burning hot passion, and the feeling they gave her when they clashed against
one another.

Her mind floated through an endless sea of pleasures.
Every touch of his body felt amplified, every twinge of pleasure seemed hotter,
sharper. Her eyes clouded over, and everything around her was cast in a soft
glow.

She let out a throaty cry, but it seemed like hours
before she finally heard her own voice. Was time slowing down? Did she care?

Above her Casstiel was surrounded by a soft glowing
light, he was an angel in human form, his touch showing her exactly what heaven
could be.

The cold tingling began to ebb and she knew he was
pulling back from her vein. She clung to him, trying to force him to drink
more. It couldn’t
end,
she wanted to stay like this
forever.

She felt connected to him in a way she never knew
possible, she could hear his heart hammering in his chest, could swear she felt
her blood flowing through his veins.  Was this the connection he felt
every time he was struck with her emotions?

She met his thrusts with powerful ones of her own,
feeling stronger and more in tune with him than ever before. The numbing
feeling had left her body the moment his fangs had, causing everything to rush
forward is a blur of sexual intensity. Time had gone from almost standing still
to
hurtling
forward almost faster than she could keep
up with it.

The feeling of his body coming closer to an orgasm was
sending hers speeding after it. The tighter and hotter his body became, the
more her body followed, until finally his hot cum lashed inside her in waves.

Her body was wet and tingling, her mind soaring as her
orgasm rushed after his. The heat and pleasure crashing against the cool
tingling that still lingering behind created an overwhelming sexual storm inside
her.

And all she could think about was when she could
experience it again.

Chapter
24

Tessa stretched and walked sleepily down the hallway towards the kitchen. She
had slept so hard through the night she woke up feeling like a train had run
her over.

“Good morning my sun,” he smiled from over the stove; he
was shirtless with his sweat pants hung low on his hips, cooking something that
looked suspiciously like pancakes.

She mumbled a greeting in return, her brain still
feeling sluggish.

“How are you feeling?” he asked, leaving the stove to inspect her.

“Tired,” she yawned as he placed his hands on either side of her face, tilting
it.

“It’ll take you a little while to get used to the blood loss,” he kissed her
forehead, “unfortunately this is how it always is for humans, but once you eat
you’ll feel much better.”

“What even happened?” she strained for memories, “I remember this weird cold
feeling and my mind being really far away. I could hear your heart beating, and
then I had this intense orgasm, where my body was fighting between hot and
cold.”

She looked away as a blush lit up her cheeks.

“The cold that you felt is a numbing agent, almost like a paralysis, but it
floods you with endorphins, making you feel incredible. The heat is your actual
blood temperature, when I pull out of the bite the paralysis immediately
retreats,” he pulled out a plate and stacked up a dozen pancakes.

She felt the place on her neck where he had bitten her, but found only smooth
unmarked skin.

“You need to eat,” he placed the stack in front of her and again checked her
face, eyes and pulse.

“Will it always feel like that?” she asked, before folding two pancakes and
shoving them taco style into her mouth.

“I can’t stop the numbing from happening, it’s my body’s biological response to
the feeding, but if you don’t like it you’ll never have to do it again,” to her
surprise his face was tense, “I’ve lived off of the embassies blood for years
now, you don’t have to do this for me.”

“I liked it,” she smiled, feeling strange to have to reassure him of anything.

“Good,” he let out the breath he had been holding, “because your blood was the
most amazing thing I’ve ever tasted, I don’t think I could have lived without
it.”

Good
, she couldn’t help but smile herself.

“So when can I see my brother?” she asked, almost shocked to feel the words
forming on her lips.

Before she had fallen into a dead sleep Casstiel had cradled her to his chest
and filled her in on everything he had learned about Quinn.

“I told him as soon as you woke and ate he could come up here and talk with you
while I go get my men together,” he studied her face, and for a moment she was
reminded of Sebastian.

“I don’t know how I feel,” She confessed, “I’ve been missing him for two years,
thinking he was dead or hurt out there somewhere all alone. I thought they had
taken him against his will, but he joined the Breed voluntarily.”

Put them through all that pain,
voluntarily

“I’m just so pissed off! How could he do this to us?” she exploded.

“Just give him a chance,” he massaged her slim shoulders, “he’s carrying a lot
of pain and
guilt,
let him at least explain to you his
reasons.”

“So where are you guys going tonight?” she gruffly changed the subject. She
knew he was trying to be the voice of reason, but at the moment she just didn’t
want to hear it.

Her brother had broken her heart and her trust and now that she knew he had
left willingly it would take him a long time to get both back.

For a moment she didn’t think he was going to let her subject change slide, he
seemed like he wanted to try and smooth things over between her and Quinn
before they started talking, but decided against it.

“Thanks to your brother we found a hunter laboratory that’s off our grid. We’re
going in tonight to take them down,” he finally replied, and she could hear the
hunger for revenge in his voice.

“So all the other compounds are under surveillance except for this one?” she
tried not to sound suspicious as she ate her way through more pancakes.

“I don’t know
,
I feel like the compounds we’re
watching aren’t actually occupied anymore. After tonight I’ll send out a team
to do some actual recon and see with their own eyes what’s going on, because if
these traitors are powerful enough they might actually be hacking into our
computer systems and video feeds. To be honest, your brother dropped a real
bomb on us Tessa,” his face suddenly looked worn and over worked, and she
couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy for him.

She thought he had fallen asleep with her, but after
looking at the state of the living room, it was obvious he had been up all
night.

Balled up wads of paper littered the floor, a map had
been pinned across an easel and covered in red push pins and blue arrows,
stacks of DVD cases were piled up around the TV, which was
paused
on a frame of video that appeared to be overlooking a forest.

“I’m sorry,” he rubbed his thumb across her knuckles,
“bringing my work home with me is probably my worst habit. If it scares you,
I’ll try harder to leave it down there.”

“No don’t, I don’t want you to change for me either.
Besides with how devoted you are, you would probably just end up staying in
your office all day if I didn’t let you bring it home,” she smiled
reassuringly.

Their life together would be a series of compromises,
and they would both have to give and take.

Her eyes swept over the state of the living room again,
and worry began to burrow into her mind. With the possibility of so much going
wrong, she didn’t understand why they needed to go out tonight instead of
getting a better grip on the situation first.

“I’ve got a really bad feeling about all this, I think
you should do more surveillance and see what you’re walking into first,” she
blurted out.

“It’s gonna be fine, you’re worried because this is the
first time I’ve had to go out since we’ve been together. Ghost has broken into
a couple of satellites and is getting images off of those,” he squeezed her
hand, but failed to reassure her.

She was ready to argue it out, but a knock on the door
echoed through their penthouse.

“It’s gotta be Quinn,” he hustled off into the bedroom
to change and grab his duffle bag.

“I’m gonna head down to the gym to give you guys your
space. Just try and give him a chance Tessa,” he gave her a quick kiss, “if you
guys are still talking when we leave then I’ll just see you tonight.”

“You better see me tonight,” she grumbled.

“I’ll call you as soon as we’re in the car on the way
home,” he laughed off her concern, “Come on, you don’t need to worry,
your
man’s a pro ok? I love you.”

“I love you too,” she sighed as he let Quinn in.

She had a feeling it was going to be another long day.

“Are you ok?” Quinn asked softly, as she stared straight
ahead, digging a hole into the wall behind him.

As he told the story of what the hunters had done to him, she had become more
and more withdrawn. He left out the gruesome details of the experiments he
endured, but even without those facts she was still distraught.

He had also conveniently left out how he had come to the Breed, and why.
Something that she wasn’t going to let slip by.

“I just…” She winced at the hollowed look of sadness on his face, “I just want
to know why. I can swallow everything, bury the heartache of you leaving, even
get over what they did to you, but I need to know
why
.”

Her rage was bubbling; they had suffered so much, all because of him.
Sleepless nights, holding her mother while she
sobbed,
the endless worry.

“Just tell me why!” she screamed, slamming her palms onto the coffee table in
front of them.

The dam burst and she exploded into a rage. Picking up her glass she hurled it
at his face, it missed by centimeters, smashing into a glittering halo behind
him.

He hadn’t even tried to dodge it.

Words couldn’t fix the hole between them, and the last thing he wanted to do
was continue to have this conversation, but she was seconds from throwing him
out, her fingers already itching to smash something else, so he took in a deep
breath and began to explain.

“Our semester had just finished, so I went with the swim team on a weekend
camping trip to blow off some steam. We went up the Rifle River and just drank
and relaxed.”

Memories of his last week of being a human flashed through his mind’s eye,
reminding him of all the reasons why he had left it behind.

“I decided to stay a couple days out there by myself and do some soul
searching. I was only a semester away from my bachelors degree, but instead of
being excited and feeling like my life was about to get started I was
miserable,” he sighed, knowing his reasons wouldn’t ever be good enough, “I
didn’t have any real friends, everyone was just using me. I hated the career I
picked; I was alone, just drifting in this dark empty sea. I had never felt
like I belonged with anyone, like I’d never fit in anywhere, even our family
was growing apart with each year me and you got older.”

“I never fit in either, but you didn’t see me running off,” she snapped coldly.

“The first day I was out there by myself I saw them,” he continued, though she
knew he was stung, “I thought a group of hunters were chasing a deer because of
all the running and shooting, but as they got closer I realized they were
hunting a man.”

“They shot him a few times, and I didn’t realize they were with tranquilizers.
He went down and they all attacked him, just beating the hell out of him. I
couldn’t sit there and do nothing,” his voice pleaded for her to understand.
Never in his life had he been able to stand by quietly while someone else was
bullied or abused.

“Of course you couldn’t, you always have to be the hero,” she still couldn’t
bring herself to sympathize.

Quinn was the last person in school you wanted to catch you bullying someone,
and the only reason why Tessa had simply been out casted and never once picked
on.

“I jumped in even though there were six of them. I took two down straight out
of the gate, but after that they were on me. Worst beating I’ve ever taken, I
really thought they were going to kill me, but that’s when the
tranqs
wore off and Rod transformed,” for a moment she felt
the fear of seeing a werewolf for the first time, and her heart softened a
little.

“He killed the hunters like it was nothing; ripping their throats out,
splattering blood everywhere. I ended up passing out from the shock and when I
woke up I was in Balor’s compound. I was absolutely fucking terrified
Tessa,
the guys here are tiny compared to Rod and Balor.”

“I know, I’ve seen them, remember?” she interrupted, venom spewing through her
words.

“I didn’t know you were coming home, I never would have done it at the house if
I had known,” he tried to reason with her, but she didn’t want to hear the
bullshit.

“Just stop,” she scoffed cutting him off, “finish your story because I’m sick
of the ‘I’m
sorries
’ already.”

“Normally they would have wiped my memory and left me alone,” he started up,
again doing his best to seem unaffected by her anger, “but Rod had seen such
heart and spirit in me that he brought me back and offered me the chance to
join their pack; they gave me a day to think everything over.”

Tessa wanted to turn away from him, not sure she could handle everything he was
going to say, but no matter how much it hurt, she knew she had to hear it.

“I knew that if I joined I would have to cut ties with you. It’s not like I
wanted to give you guys up, but I had never felt anything like being with
Balor’s pack; like I belonged with them and somewhere deep down I felt like I
was denying my own fate if I walked away. I was planning on distancing myself
from you over the years, slowly cutting ties, I never thought things were gonna
go the way they did.”
