Martha was swinging on the tyre fiddling with her braids
watching two butterflies dancing, she was singing to herself “Summertime and
the living is easy, fish are jumping and the cotton is high” Rufus was staring
from his bedroom window, this girl had captivated him, she was like a living
flower fairy. Cross with himself he tried to ignore her but the haunting sound
of her crystal clear voice floated up to his room.
“Cut.. Eve fantastic, we need more singing in this film your
voice is incredible, we will work out a list of songs Martha may have heard as
a child and you can practise them, Nathan good work today George and Sharon
have a full day tomorrow so you tow can take the day off” Eve skipped over to
Rachel who had been watching from the back she was holding a now wriggly three
month old Leila who was grasping for Eve to cuddle her.
“Christopher is right Eve you have a stunning voice, it made
my hairs stand on end. You should sing at the wedding next year it would be
lovely” Eve hardly paid any attention as she lifted the tiny girl into the air
forcing her into a fit of giggles. Nathan came up behind and kissed Eve on the
back of the neck
“I love the pig tails baby keep them in for later” Eve
elbowed him in the ribs while Rachel coughed politely. She said her goodbyes
and left, Eve tucked Leila on her hip while Nathan wrestled with the pushchair
cursing. They got into their SUV and set off for their own Los Feliz home, they
had bought it two weeks ago; it was vacant so they moved straight in. It was a
four bedroom villa with one essential feature; a swimming pool. Eve had become
an addict and even had Leila swimming under water; she had read that if they
start swimming from birth it comes naturally. Leila floated about like a mini
dolphin right from the word go. The villa also came with a separate guest
annexe perfect for their UK family.
Tara, Sue who was now single and Izzy were planning to visit
every school holiday. Izzy was working in the local pub as a cook and also
tried her hand at writing novels, she was very good too. Eve thought one of
them would make an excellent movie and Christopher had a contact looking at it
now. Tara was still single but very happy, she had been badly burned by Michael
and out of all of them Eve felt her friend would take the longest to recover.
Victoria was now a successful designer with an invitation to
this year’s New York Fashion Week, she had her own apartment which she shared
with a certain French Chef. Michel had now opened his own restaurant and was
doing very well. Victoria was designing Eve’s bridal gowns, Leila, Sue, Izzy,
Tara and Vic were all flower girls. The wedding wasn’t until next summer; they
wanted to finish the movie and all the premiers first. There was no hurry
anyway, as a couple they were stronger than ever Leila had bonded them even
further and her welfare was their joint priority.
Leila was sound asleep in her cot; Eve knew they had a good
hour before she would need feeding. Eve fancied a swim, the garden was private
and she fancied some fun. Eve sent a message to Nathan telling him she needed
urgent help in the pool. She slipped her clothes off left her hair in the
braids and slipped into the water. Nathan’s footsteps echoed under the water
and she felt him slip in beside her. Turning to face him his eyes widened when
he saw her nudity, sliding off his own shorts he came up for air bringing her
with him.
“You are full of surprises you need my help I hear? What do
you need my help with?” Eve smiled biting her lip she took his hands and placed
one on each breast.
“I need help with a conundrum” He smiled whilst his fingers
traced the edges of her nipples
“What is this conundrum?” Eve moaned as one his hands slid
between her thighs
“Is sex under water as good as sex out of the water is my
question” Nathan cocked his brow
“I have no idea but I think I know a way we can find out” He
pulled her under the water and their bodies joined as one. Sometime later they
resurfaced, Eve was giggling
“I think that answered my conundrum successfully” Nathan
dragged her to the side and pressed her into the tiles
“I think more research is required to get a definitive
answer don’t you agree?”
The End
About Me;
I am a mother of two children and a mobile Hairstylist. I
have loved reading since being a child and my first book Healing Hands was a
test to see if I could put a story into words.
I was never taught grammar and punctuation the way it is
taught today, I am learning as I develop and hopefully you will see a
progression in each book. I have only just learnt what a run on sentences means
thanks to a twitter friend. I read all my reviews and appreciate the journey I need
to go on, but I am hoping the stories keep your interest and you support me on
my way. One day maybe I will have the money to pay a professional.
