Torrance glanced over to Doc. “I’m not saying I’ll
do it, but have her meet me tomorrow at Benny’s Diner.
Noon.
We’ll see how it goes.”
A smile came to the man’s face. “You’ll do it because
you owe me. Just don’t worry. She’s very easy on the eyes. And look at it this
way: it’s temporary. A month isn’t a long time at all. You get her trained, and
then she’ll be skipping along right into her master’s arms…or at his feet.
Whatever.”
Could Torrance simply hand over a sub he’d spent his
time on, training, for another man to enjoy? Yeah, it kind of happened that way
with his last three subs, but something about him was different now. He could
feel it. If he wanted to be truthful, he and his women had only ever really
been in the moment. He wasn’t so sure that’s where his head or heart could be anymore.
Chapter
Two
The diner was packed with the lunch crowd as Cate
made her way through the entrance. Waitresses were rushing to and from the tables.
Bus boys were gathering empty plates and placing them in the tubs. The
atmosphere was so hectic that it put her nerves more on edge than they already
were.
She scanned the area, looking for the man Dr.
Michael Henry had said would be waiting for her. Supposedly, he wanted to
interview her to see if she was worth training. The thought was downright
terrifying. She’d longed to be taken control of, yet she couldn’t deny that the
hardest part was going to be the trust. Her ex had really done a number on her.
It’d been three years since their divorce, and she knew that giving herself to
this lifestyle was just the trick to sweep her past under the rug, for good. If
she could get over her trust issues, she was free. She could start over, and be
a new person.
Dr. Henry said Torrance had dirty blond hair, and
was a little over six feet. He was supposedly in great shape. As her eyes
scanned the area, she didn’t see a single person fitting that description. Cate
craned her neck and looked towards the back of the room. Her gaze settled on a
man who literally took her breath away. Her heart all but stopped at his dark
stare.
There he sat, dressed in a suit. One of his arms was
on the table, holding onto the handle of a white coffee cup. The other hovered
a few inches off the surface, and his finger was crooked and motioning her
forward. The way his eyes raked across her body, she could have sworn he was
undressing her right there in front of all these strangers.
Cate forced herself forward. It was a hard task. The
heels she wore made it feel like she was wading through mud. Her legs did not
want to work at all.
People rushed past, but Cate kept her head down. The
less contact that she made with anyone’s stare, the easier she could just float
through without drawing any attention. She wasn’t sure why she was like this,
but had been for as long as she could remember. It didn’t help that she had a
fear of people, courtesy of her ex. When it came to her life, she was beyond
boring. All Cate ever did was work, and stay at home watching TV. The
excitement was certainly lacking from her life.
As she approached the table, she brought her gaze up.
A startling deep blue stared back at her, and she wouldn’t dare return the
contact. She looked back down and slid into the booth. “You must be Torrance.”
Cate swallowed hard and met his stare long enough to shake his hand. She kept
her eyes on his face, but not his eyes.
At least, not for
long.
“You’re not what I was expecting.”
The words caught her off guard. She forced herself to
really look at him. The full lips were slightly twisted from the mask of
confusion on his face. His nose was narrow and straight. Power radiated from
his gorgeous face. She could feel it all the way across the table.
“I’m sorry,” Cate said quietly. “I thought maybe Dr.
Henry explained me better. I completely understand if you don’t want to… She
looked around nervously. “You know.”
A slight smile came to his face. “Train you?”
“Yes.” Heat filled her face.
“Look at me, Cate. I want you to say it. Tell me you
want me to train you.” He leaned forward and his finger brought her chin up. As
he began to trace his thumb over her lower lip, she couldn’t think straight.
All she could do was
stare
, like a deer in the
headlights.
“Cate.”
He
waited, and she shook her head, trying to snap herself out of the weird spell
she was under.
“I want you to train me.” Her response was barely
audible even to her own ears. The rise and fall of her chest was deep while she
tried to control the adrenaline rushing through her.
“Louder.” The tender touch of his hand cupped her
face and she shivered as his fingers pushed into her hair. With a swipe of his
thumb, he separated her lips. Cate could feel herself shaking. It’d been years
since the last time a man had actually touched her.
She cleared her throat and felt her back straighten.
Her head lifted high and she didn’t break contact with his eyes. “I want you to
train me.”
A big smile covered his face, and his touch was
suddenly gone. “Good girl. You move in with me immediately.” He handed her a
piece of paper, and a key. “I have some things I have to take care of––”
“Wait,” Cate shook her head. “Move in? I wasn’t
aware this was a live-in situation. I’m not sure I can do that.”
He stared at her quietly. The expression he was
giving her let her know she’d done something wrong.
“Stand up and come kneel before me.
Right here.”
He pointed to the floor next to his seat.
Cate looked at him, horrified. Her eyes scanned the
crowded diner. Fear like she’d never known before had her breaking out into a
sweat. Dammit. She
wanted
this. Yet,
everything in her was too scared to move into action.
“I’m waiting, Cate. You either listen, or you get
punished.” He took a drink of his coffee. “Do I need to take you into the
restroom and give you a good spanking to get to you to obey?”
The panic she’d felt earlier intertwined with a
delicious heat. “Is that the choice? Kneel or be spanked?”
He nodded. “It is.”
Cate was standing before her mind could talk her out
of it. She headed for the restroom. Torrance’s presence pushed against her
back, and she knew he was following. Before she could turn to the ladies’ room,
he pushed open the door to the men’s and swept her inside, locking the door.
Cate’s back was slammed into the far wall, and his hands locked around her
thighs, right below her ass. He pulled her up to straddle him and she couldn’t
stop the shock she felt.
She wasn’t necessarily a skinny person. She knew she
was slightly overweight, yet the way he handled her made her feel as light as a
feather.
“Kiss me, and then receive your punishment.”
Torrance might have been a complete stranger, but
her body didn’t care one bit. The wetness between her legs was proof of that.
Slowly, Cate bent and pressed her lips against his. He pulled back and narrowed
his eyes. “That’s what you call a kiss? No. When I tell you to kiss me, I mean
it. This isn’t junior high. You say you want to be my sub. Prove it. Kiss me
and show me that I’m not wasting my time with you.”
Just the thought that she’d end up letting him down
drove her forward. She grabbed his cheeks and pulled his mouth to hers. Her
tongue swept into his with all the hunger she’d harbored over the last three
lonely years of her life. For every night she’d cried herself to sleep because
she wasn’t sure what was wrong with her, or why her life had taken the turn
that it did. So many emotions swept through and before she knew it, Torrance’s
fingers were digging into her thighs painfully.
“Good girl.” He lowered her and spun her around to
the sink. “Now look at our reflection as you receive your punishment.”
The white dress she was wearing was suddenly lifted
and she felt her panties pulled down. Torrance lowered the flimsy garment and
made her step out of them. He held them up in the reflection and showed them to
her. “These are mine. When we’re out, you’re not to wear them again.” He
stuffed them in his pocket and then the first slap had her eyes flying open. It
had come from nowhere, or maybe she thought he’d warn her.
Throbbing erupted in her heat as he connected,
again. It was in the same spot, and the fire had her biting her lip.
“Are you going to cut me off the next time I speak?”
Cate jumped at the new sting on the other side of her ass. His hand messaged
into her skin and she was barely aware that she’d moaned.
“No.”
Again he spanked her and a cry came from her mouth.
“When I ask you a question, you respond by addressing me as ‘Master’. Now say
it, Cate. Say, ‘
No, Master
’.”
“No, Master.” She held in the tears that threatened
to spill. Her ass was positively ablaze with tingly hotness.
“That a girl.” Fingers caressed over her nearly numb
skin and the closer he got to her pussy, the more Cate could feel herself
leaning toward his touch. “You want me.” The tips of his fingers traced down
her wet slit. “You’re so hot and ready. God, I could fuck you right here.” His
eyes rose from her most private areas and connected with her heavy gaze. “But
you want that too badly. You’ll wait until I say it’s time.”
Torrance stepped back. “Now pull down your dress,
stand up, and face me.”
Swallowing was almost impossible with the pent-up
frustration she felt, but Cate obeyed.
“Now, here.”
He
handed her the paper and the key. “When I get home I expect to see you there.
Bring as much as you can. Doc said your new master would collect you in thirty
days. We have quite a lot of work ahead of us.”
He unlocked the door and paused, scanning her face.
“You’d better be there. Now go pack.”
Cate nodded and rushed past him. Every painful step
made the smile on her face widen. She snatched her purse from where she’d been
sitting, and couldn’t believe she’d just left it there.
The busy activity continued throughout the diner as
if her world hadn’t just suddenly taken a dramatic twist for the better. Holy
hell, it had been great. Her body was humming with excitement and anxiety of
what was to come. This was Cate’s new life, and even if it meant uprooting from
everything safe she’d known, she was ready to dive in blindly.
Chapter
Three
Butterflies fluttered in the pit of Torrance’s
stomach as he finished off his new cup of coffee. Everything about Cate was not
what he was used to. Not as a beginning sub, anyway. The previous women he’d
been with had been loud, young, and defiant with every turn of his head. It’d
been frustrating, but he’d known his abilities, and didn’t once question
whether or not he could train them. It’d taken a few weeks, but once he got
them settled to where he wanted them, they were a lot like the way Cate was
now. Training her wasn’t going to be a problem in the least. He’d made her
think it was, but really, she was a natural-born submissive. Her energy, and everything
down to the soft tone of her voice, was absolutely perfect.
Torrance looked up at the waitress and waved off the
need for more coffee. Fuck. It wasn’t too late. He could call Doc right now and
tell him he wanted out. She was ready, plain and simple. Cate’s new master
would only really have to demand something, and he knew she’d do it. Then why
did he want to continue this?
Visions of her curves projected in his mind.
Instantly, his cock hardened. If not for the fact that he was torturing himself
by making himself wait, he would have fucked her right there in the restroom.
And she would have gladly let him. The wetness and flush on her cheeks were
indication enough. That wasn’t even including the moans pouring from her mouth
as he touched her.
“Shit.” Torrance threw some money down on the table
and went up to the cashier. As he paid, Cate’s kiss flashed into his head. He
clenched his jaw. Wow, she was something else. The sweet taste of her mouth and
the way she looked blew him away.
But even her appearance wasn’t what he was used to.
The natural make-up she wore was all earth tones. There was no black eyeliner, or
bright red lips. She looked pure.
Sweet.
It was
refreshing as hell. He could easily walk with her into a party and she would be
all elegance and grace. There was no work to be done there.
The cashier handed him his change and he walked out to
the busy streets of downtown Austin. Tourists littered the area. The distance
to his art gallery was only a few blocks. Torrance pushed his hands down into
his pants pockets and
strolled
the streets at a
leisurely pace. He was in no hurry to make it there. His appointment wasn’t
until five, and he had plenty of time to kill. The sound of music drifted
through the air. He loved that about Austin. It didn’t really matter where you
were … music was usually playing somewhere.
