“I’m not able to give her what she deserves.” Weariness had taken over. The past few weeks had finally taken its toll.

“I think you’re wrong. Give her the chance to make that decision. It’s your duty to strengthen the fragile bond between you.”

“What if I fail?” Fear in the voice of a warrior was rare. They trained rigorously from childhood to face and conquer it. However, what if you’re afraid not for you, but another?

“Then you must set her free.”

They didn’t speak after that. It was up to him to discover he was the best thing for Mah’yanna. The love was already there, waiting to be awakened. Their feelings for each other were true. The rest would come. Tha-lah said a silent prayer for them.

All off-duty warriors had come to say goodbye. To think just a few weeks ago, she hadn’t known a single one. Now, she couldn’t imagine her life without them. Those intrepid males had taught her more about friendship and loyalty than any elder priestess. She’d never forget how they’d turned to her for healing and meditation after the explosion. Their shared grief had brought them closer.

“Priestess, give us your blessing before you go.”

Third Commander Kyr-lee was a very young officer with a promising military career ahead of him. He was one of her most avid students, learning relaxation techniques better than any Trac’xian novice. Tears ran down her cheeks as she looked around the packed room.

“You’re not alone as you travel the expanse, bringing order to chaos, light to darkness, hope to despair. Don’t forget you are divine instruments of righteousness. Hold your ro’traals firmly to protect the weak. The goddess will shadow your path, and after the long battle, you shall sit at her table. In her wisdom, you shall thrive.”

Groo’lat stood by the door. She rushed into his waiting arms. “Ready, priestess?” Had his smile always been that handsome?

“I’ve been ready my whole life.” A warm night on her third birthday, she’d woken up to a soft voice.
Wake, my child,
it’d said.
Look at the vastness of the sky before you. One day you’ll travel far away, spreading my message.

Q’alor II
, permission to depart.” Mixed feelings crossed his face and she knew. This was his last official communication as a warrior. Sadness was quickly replaced by happiness. He sought her hand with his, entwining their fingers.

“Granted.” Kyr-lee squared his shoulders, clicking his heels. After pulling his ro’traal out, he saluted them in traditional military style. The warriors behind joined in with their battle cry—honor, loyalty and strength.

“Docking clamps released. Heading confirmed. We will arrive at the Nan’karan sector in five weeks, two hours, eight minutes, ten seconds—”

“End report,” Groo’lat grounded out through clenched his teeth. “Monitor all frequencies for suspicious communications.”

Sweet mother, she sighed inwardly rubbing his shoulders. A few minutes into their trip and Groo’lat was already mad at Rag’mar. Only one would emerge a winner in the battle of wills. She didn’t even know how the link between ship and warrior would affect her.

“Monitoring all frequencies.”

Oh well, she’d let it go for now. Nothing could be gained by futile pursuits. She came around to face her lover, taking in his amazing sculpted body.

“You know, we’re not scheduled for stasis until tomorrow.” She purred softly, looking adoringly into his eyes. “What shall we do until then?” Space travel was more efficient when resources were conserved. To that end, many used a nutrient-rich gly-urq.

“Priestess,” his voice deepened with passion, “don’t look at me like that.”

“Like what?” she asked innocently, thinking how good his thick, hard ro’traal would feel. Her breath became fast, hard pants, and moisture coated her thighs.

“I can feel you, every breath and every pulsating beat of your flesh.”

She gasped as he grabbed her and then placed her over his shoulders. Her nipples hardened, becoming sharp little points rubbing against his back.

“Keep that up and I’ll take you right here against this wall.”

His words only stoked the fires raging inside her. The idea of being frackked against the wall, her legs wrapped around him, sounded absolutely decadent.

No sooner the thought crossed her mind, she found herself in the exact same position. One of the advantages of the union was one knew exactly what the other wanted. Having her clothes shredded off her body was a bigger turn-on than she’d imagined. His stiff cock penetrated her soft, willing channel, and she screamed his name.

So good, goddess, his shaft was so taut. She was so giddy with pleasure, she swore she heard beeping sounds.
Beep, beep.

“Warrior, your pulse is elevated.” The imprudent ship was spying on them?

“Not now, dammit,” Groo’lat ordered, thrusting deeper, grinding his hips.

“Are you having intercourse?” Despite being a superior intelligence, it lacked common sense. “May I observe?” Would it be wrong to reprogram it?

“Frackk you, Rag’mar,” he bellowed. “Stay out of my mind.” He pumped faster, driving his cock deeper. She spread her thighs wider, arching her back and matching his rhythm. “And stop recording before I cut your mainframe into tiny pieces.”

“Acknowledged.” Was that insolence in Rag’mar voice? “Link disconnected until further notice.”
Beep, beep.
Silence.

“Groo’lat? Words aren’t necessary between us. I already know how you feel, but I…”

“Tah-lah, my beautiful priestess, I love you. My ul’naah recognized yours from the moment I woke up and gazed into your eyes.” His kiss began as a soft whisper and quickly turned into a ravaging fire. Tha-lah’s body burst alive with vibrant colors.

The place where his ro’traal pierced her flesh became her reason for being. Her soul resonated, answering his need to be accepted and loved. They ceased to be Tha-lah and Groo’lat, and a new life fashioned of pure love emerged.

Her soft delicate opening swelled around his shaft, squeezing tightly. Her tri’lu exploded in a blinding flash, surrounding them with warmth. Nothing mattered, except this frozen moment in time. She moaned and traced the brand on his back with her hands.

“Tha-lah.”

He stiffened and his warm seed spilled into her. Her eyelids fluttered open. The look in his eyes stole her breath away. Most Pendo’rahn had eyes the color of Trac’xia’s icy lakes in the winter. His were darker with a glint of purple, like the bloom of the holy flower.

“Priestess,” he whispered afterward, nuzzling her neck. “Back then, while I was inside you, I heard a voice.” She sat on his lap while he fed her bits of nutritional rations.

Could such a thing be possible? The voice he’d heard had been the goddess blessing them. Could that mean their bond ran even deeper than she could’ve dreamed?

“Yes, my warrior. The goddess has found you worthy. We’re now forever one.” Tha-lah’s heart swelled. Her happiness was complete. He was her soul mate, the only male in the universe who possessed her completely.

Come, my beloved, shed your guilt. Love without fear. Find pleasure and rejoice in this joining. Drink each other’s soul until you overflow with passion. Take hold of this brief moment I’ve given you. Tomorrow shall bring its own afflictions, but today will be forever etched in time… In my
wisdom,
you shall thrive.
