are
sexy
men
and

Nate
Ryan,
she
thought.
She
replayed
her
mental
video
of
the
previous
day.
What
had
excited
and
infuriated
her
in
turns
as
a
ten-year-old,
still
did
so
now
but
also
dismayed
her.
There
was
more
at
stake.

The
events
during
the
night
didn't
have
to
be
called
up.
The
problem
was
to
turn
that
video
off.

She
stood
concealed
by
the
curtain
and
watched
him
peer
up
at
the
roof
and
then
walk
back
to
get
a
better
view.
Then
he
disappeared
round
the
side
of
the
house
and
a
few
minutes
later
she
heard
him
up
in
the
attic.

She
frowned.
Anyone
would
think
he
owned
the
place.
She'd
better
get
going.
She
would
have
a
busy
day
as
things
had
been
let
slide
lately.
That
mail
for
instance.
She
knew
she
should
at
least
have
opened
it.

Neglecting
that
was
her
third
