“I’ll say this once and only once.”

He sounded angry now.

“I’d never use you the way they will.”

That, right there, was the reason we couldn’t be
together.

Our families would never
understand.

“I want you to think about what I’m offering.”

“And what is that?” I demanded.

This should be good.

He leaned down and pressed his forehead against mine.

“Whenever you need an escape, to get away
from being treated like the good little girl of the Johnson family?

You come to me.”

I frowned as he said this.

“And I’ll fuck that good girl out of you.” He
growled.

He slipped the phone into my
hand and I shot out of his office.

I couldn’t look at his assistant as I passed.

The quicker I got out of here, the better I’d
be. I could see what Chase meant now.

Walkers were dangerous.

Especially Nathan.

Chapter Four

It was my first official day at Johnson Architecture
today.

I had decided to wipe Nathan from
my thoughts.

As far as I was concerned we
had never crossed paths.

It was the only
way.

I refused to be put in the middle
of my family and them.

I took the
elevator to my father’s office and walked up to his assistant’s desk.

“Hi.” I smiled. “Is he in?”

Marie had been my father’s assistant ever since I was
born.

Every time we’d visit him at the
office she’d always have sweets waiting for us.

“Go straight through Chloe.” She smiled.

“Good luck on your first day, sweetie.” She
winked.

“Thanks.” I
smiled.

As I went through the door I
noticed my father was standing by the wall-to-floor window overlooking the
streets of London.

He must have sensed
me watching him as he turned around.

“Damn, kid.” He smiled, shaking his head.

“You look more like your mother every day
with all that red hair.”

No matter how many years had passed my father would never
move on.

Even after me and Chase had
grown up.

“Thanks, Dad.” I gave him a hug.

“So, where do I start?”

I had no clue what they wanted me doing.

My only experience was in finance.

“Take a seat, sweetie.” He indicated the chair opposite his
desk.

“We have an Account Manager
position that we haven’t been able to fill.

I think this would be a good start for you.”

“I’d prefer to work with numbers, Dad.”

He nodded as I said this.

“That’s what it is, Chloe.

We need someone who can liaise on our behalf between the clients and
contractors on certain projects while also dealing with monitoring the
finances, budgets and tenders.”

That didn’t sound so bad.

“Who will I be liaising with?”

He looked over my shoulder as I asked this, like he couldn’t
look at me.

“Dad!” I admonished him.

“This isn’t something I feel comfortable trusting with an
employee.

I only feel family can handle
this.”

Crap, what does he want me doing?

“We have five main projects we would like you to get
involved in.”

Right.

“Three of those projects will involve you liaising with the
Head of Finance at Walker Enterprises.”

I tried not to fidget when he said that name.

“You want me to deal with the Walkers?” I was shocked.

He cocked an eyebrow at me when I asked this.

Just like he used to when he would catch me and Chase
stealing cookies before dinner.

Chase
would always sell me out when that happened.

“You will only have direct contact with their head of
Finance, not with any member of that family.”

Thank the Lord for that.

“That doesn’t sound so bad.” I smiled.

He grinned when I said that.

Suddenly I heard someone clapping from over
my shoulder.

I looked towards the
doorway to see Chase, smirking.

“Finally,” he said, walking into the office, grinning from
ear to ear.

“Baby sis, is finally
joining us.” He gloated, rubbing his hands together.

I shook my head. “Chase!” I admonished.

“Oh, relax,” he said, patting my shoulder as he passed.

I rolled my eyes.

He
was like a little boy most of the time.

As Dad insisted on taking me to my floor personally – which
I hate because I never liked getting special treatment – I was soon being
introduced to the accountants that I would be working with over the next few
months.

I was hastily set up at my desk
going over all the project files and budgetary reports for the projects I would
be responsible for.

By 12:30 I had
spoken to several contractors to introduce myself and also arranged meetings in
the next week.

As my phone rang I grew excited for my first phone
call.

“Hello, Johnson Architecture.

Chloe speaking, how can I help?” I used my
best telephone voice.

“Hello, Chloe, this is Louise calling on behalf of the head
of Finance at Walker Enterprises.”

It sounded like she was using her best telephone voice as
well.

I smiled at the thought.

“I’m calling to request an introductory meeting for this
afternoon if that’s at all possible?”

Short notice but it wouldn’t be a problem.

I wanted to get Walker Construction out of my
way so I could set my mind at ease.

“That shouldn’t be a problem,” I replied.

“How does 3pm sound?”

“That would be perfect. Please report to the main security
in the lobby and someone will be there to meet you.”

She sounded really nice.

“Thanks.

I look
forward to it.”

Yeah, right.

I didn’t want to set foot in that building in
a hurry but my weekend would go smoother if I got it out of the way now.

An hour later I was waiting at security for the head of
finance.

I was going through my mental
checklist.

Details on the client.

Check.

Up to date budgetary figures.

Check.

Updates on what stage we were
within the project at the moment.

Check.

I was starting to feel a
little excited for this meeting now.

“Miss Johnson,” a voice greeted from behind me.

All excitement left me immediately and was replaced with
anxiety and nerves.

This wasn’t supposed
to be happening.

It was supposed to be
some run-of-the-mill employee that didn’t have the last name of Walker.

Or even another member of the Walker
family.

I could even handle that.

But no, it had to be Nathan fucking Walker.

I reluctantly turned around and wanted to cringe at the
smirk on his face.

I stormed straight
past him towards the elevator and he laughed as I pressed the button for the
elevator impatiently.

As the elevator
arrived I entered and stared at the wall the entire way up.

“Are you talking to me?” Nathan asked, sticking his cocky,
smirking face in the way of my staring at the wall.

“No,” I snapped.

He
laughed again at this.

So glad I could
be here to entertain him.

I know I
should have been professional.

Right now
I was acting like a spoiled brat but I was so embarrassed.

Embarrassed and also ashamed.

Ashamed for what I’d done with him and scared
that everyone was going to find out.

He
was a Walker at the end of the day and I was terrified he was going to tell my
brother.

Or worse.

Tell his brother.

Adam Walker was the perfect example of how
ruthless and nasty a Walker could be.

The elevator stopped and I followed Nathan who led the
way.

As we passed his assistant he said, “No interruptions,
Louise.”

She nodded as he passed and gave me what looked like an
encouraging smile.

“Please, take a seat.” He indicated, as we entered his
office.

On the left there was his desk
with three chairs opposite it but to the right there was a medium-sized
conference table.

Nathan walked straight
up to his desk.

“Where would you like me?” I looked around.

After no reply I glanced up and he was
staring at me, rubbing his thumb across his lips.

His eyes were glued to my legs.

Why the hell did I have to wear a skirt
today?

I thought it was appropriate for
the office.

It was pin-striped and came
to just past my knees.

But obviously it
wasn’t Nathan-appropriate.

“Nathan.” Nothing.

“Nathan!” I snapped.

That got
some action.

“At the conference table, please.” H pointed to a seat.

I walked around the table and took a seat so that my back
was facing the window.

Nathan quickly
joined me, taking a seat opposite me.

“So, Chloe, I just wanted to set aside some time to go over
the particulars of what your predecessor did before you.”

I nodded as he said this.

I was thankful he was attempting to remain professional.

“Obviously, I will mainly be in contact with several
architects at your firm and you will be responsible for the financial
responsibilities and monitoring our mutual client’s budgets.”

“Yes, I can see from the project file,” I said, quickly
finding the original tender, “that the client was quoted a specific
price.”

He nodded, biting his lip.

Fuck, that was sexy.

“Also,” I quickly continued, “in the next few
weeks, I would like a full catalogue of materials available to look over and
determine where costs can be minimised while also ensuring that both Johnson
Architecture and Walker Construction capitalise as much as possible while also
ensuring the client is completely satisfied with the productivity and services
provided.”

Nathan cleared his throat and loosened his tie.

“Yes, well, it sounds like you know what
you’re doing.” He smiled.

I laughed as he said this. “Were you worried?” I smiled,
collecting my paperwork and inserting it back into my leather file binder.

“Not at all.” He smirked, openly grinning now.

I smiled back in return.

It was hard not to smile at Nathan when he looked like that.

Nathan’s hand was on the table and I noticed
he kept clenching his fists while biting his bottom lip.

It was extremely distracting.

I cleared my throat while checking my
watch.

It was really time to go.

“I would like to schedule a meeting for next week with the
client so everyone is on board with what stages everyone is at with the project
and ensure everything is on target,” he said.

I nodded as he said this while tucking my hair behind my
ears and off my neck.

I was worried it
looked more like a head whip though.

He frowned as I did this.

“I still want to fuck you.”

Damn it, I wish he wouldn’t say that.

It made me think back to our night together
and I really couldn’t be thinking of things like that.

“Where to?” I asked, ignoring the last part.

“This conference table,” he replied.

I went to nod but he wasn’t finished.

“My desk.

Up against the wall.

In my
chair.

In the elevator.

In the car.

On the London Eye.

Also up
against the window behind you so that when you come for me all of London will
see how much I can make you fly.”

Fuck me sideways.

I
was so turned on I was rubbing my legs together.

“Nathan,” I whispered, looking up at him.

That was all it took.

He pounced.

There was
no other way to describe it.

He shot up
out of his seat, marching around to me, yanking me up by my arms and crashed
his lips to mine.

He spun me so my back
was to the table and lifted me up on it.

He squeezed my breasts over my shirt and began rubbing them in a
circular motion that was driving me crazy.

“I love your tits.” He gasped, kissing my neck.

I moaned, throwing my arms around his neck and grinded
against the table.

“Where do you want it?” he whispered.

I was no longer in control. “Wall,” I said in a whimper.

He pulled me down from the table and began walking me
backwards to the wall.

As my back hit
the wall he pressed himself against me and bent down to kiss me.

He was fucking my mouth in earnest now and I
was giving it as good as he was.

I put my hands on his belt and began undoing it.

He began shrugging off his jacket as I pushed
his trousers and boxers down.

I wrapped
my hand around his very hard cock and began pumping him.

“Fuck, yes,” he whispered.

He lifted my skirt up and slid my knickers down my leg.

He was on his knees now looking up at
me.

Panting and completely turned
on.

I put my hand on his shoulder and
lifted my leg so he could pull them off.

Then the same with the other leg.
