Mia felt a moment's apprehension as Jamie settled between her legs. Mia was aroused and wanted a rock-hard cock inside her, but she might not be ready for this dildo. Mia took a deep breath as Jamie stretched her wet pussy with the dildo. The silicone was cold against her flesh as Jamie thrust into her.
Mia would never forget the look on Jamie's face when she sank into Mia's pussy. Jamie looked victorious, triumphant. She reached and clutched Mia's breasts as she withdrew, only to thrust deeper.
Mia loved watching Jamie master her. Her long brown hair fell in waves around her face. Her large breasts jiggled and swayed with every move. Jamie was the sexiest woman Mia had ever seen.
Her thrust became hard and fast, and Mia matched each thrust with a bucking of her own. She would swivel her hips as Jamie pumped into her, make Jamie work for every thrust.
But she didn't count on the fact that Jamie would outlast a mortal man. With each grunt and thrust, Mia realized that Jamie wanted—needed—for her to reach an orgasm. Only then would Jamie surrender to the swirling sensations inside her.
But she couldn't reach that point, and she didn't know why. She wanted to come, longed for it as desire twisted inside her until she couldn't breathe.
Jamie stiffened, and Mia knew that the vibe had done something to her. Her friend tossed her head back and cried out, slumping against Mia's sweat-soaked skin. Her arms and legs were shaking, and goose bumps dotted her flesh.
Caleb reached for Jamie and lifted her away from Mia. He laid her beside her friend. Jamie sighed when her head hit the pillow as Caleb stripped the harness from her hips.
Aidan let go of Mia's arms and crawled between her legs. He claimed her mouth with his, and his possessive kiss stole her breath. Aidan hooked her knees around his hips and entered her with one thrust. Mia reached up and stretched her arms, subconsciously seeking for something to hold on to. There was nothing to hold her down as Aidan drove his cock into her.
Mia tossed her head from side to side. She needed something to hold on to, something to hold her down. Jamie. Jamie was strong enough for both of them.
Mia looked to the side and saw Jamie watching her with glazed eyes. Caleb was on top of her, pumping his long cock into her wetness.
Their gaze held for a split second. Mia saw the gratitude and affection in Jamie's eyes. Mia tried to smile, but she was suddenly gasping for air as the climax she had fought so hard to gain slammed into her.
TWENTY
Jamie lay on her bed, watching the sunrise. She studied Caleb as he slept. She was somewhat envious that he could sleep while she had been awake for hours.
Today was the day. She planned to leave and not look back. She should be excited, and she was. But she felt like she had some unfinished business. Some regrets.
She didn't regret her encounter with Mia. All this time she had been afraid that she would make the wrong move and destroy years of friendship. Instead, their moments together were the pinnacle. They had changed Jamie and Mia's relationship, but they hadn't
ruined it.
But she still had to go. She was too interfering, too protective of Mia. She could see now how happy Mia was with Aidan. Aidan might not be Jamie's choice of mate, but he was perfect for Mia.
And as strange as it sounded, she hoped Mia would share her home with Aidan. The guy looked out for her. He saw that Mia was the best thing that had ever happened in his life, and he was going to take care of her.
It was too bad it had taken Jamie so long to realize what the best thing that had ever happened to her was. She had almost walked away from it. From him.
She reached out and stroked Caleb's face. Her heart started to pump fiercely. She wasn't sure what she should do. If she was smart, she would walk away without looking back. No need to ruin a perfectly good thing. Every relationship had a beginning and an end. She wanted her relationship with Caleb to end on a good note.
But, secretly, she didn't want it to end.
Jamie placed a gentle kiss on his brow, then brushed her lips against his eyes and cheeks. By the time she kissed his mouth, he was kissing her back.
She moved and Caleb's hand shot out. He held on to her tight, instinctively. “Don't go.”
She didn't know if he meant getting out of bed or out of Clover Bud. He might have meant both. She cupped his cheeks and deepened the kiss.
Caleb rolled over, and she was underneath him. She blinked, not familiar with this position. She was usually on top; she'd never liked being pinned down or at a disadvantage. Only this time, she felt cherished, loved.
She arched up and kissed him, sliding her hands all over him. He was lean and wiry, his flesh warm and supple. She grabbed his ass with both hands and dug her fingers in, bucking her hips to meet his groin.
Caleb's hands were all over her, urgent and desperate. It was as if he were afraid he didn't have enough time to do all he wanted.
He kissed a path from her neck to her breasts. He paid special attention to them, massaging and squeezing, kissing and licking, until her nipples poked against his tongue.
He continued to kiss down to her pussy. Her tummy did a little flip as he settled between her thighs, hooking her knees over his shoulders.
She closed her eyes and gasped at the first flick of his tongue against her clit. He worshipped the bud with his tongue until she couldn't take it anymore. She clutched at his head, begging for him to move on, but he wouldn't listen.
He licked her pussy, with quick, short flicks that drove her crazy. She was wet from his touch.
He dipped his finger into her pussy, and she bucked as her wet flesh gripped him, drawing him in. He pumped into her and continued to lick.
An orgasm rippled through her. She wanted to flip him over and ride him hard, but she held back, barely. She wouldn't tell him what to do. This was all about him.
He slowly kissed his way back up to her mouth. She tasted her arousal on his lips. After sliding his hands underneath her ass and tilting her hips up, he pressed his cock against her entrance.
His gaze connected with hers. There was something about the way he looked at her. It was too intense. She wanted to look away, but she couldn't. He was saying goodbye to her, letting her know how much he was going to miss her.
He slowly slid his cock into her. When he'd sheathed himself completely, he placed his palms on the mattress next to her head and began to thrust.
His thrusts were measured, as if he was memorizing everything about them: the feel and scent of their arousal; the way she looked underneath him.
She wrapped her legs around his hips. She wouldn't make him move faster. She'd let him set the pace and follow it. She'd surrender to him, to this moment, and not be afraid that it would weaken her.
But then, Caleb never made her feel weak. She felt confident and powerful when she was with him. She wanted to conquer him, but she never really did. His quiet strength and acceptance made doing so impossible.
Caleb's hips began to pump faster. She saw the tightening of his face, the flexing of his muscles. He was about to come, but he was holding back. He wanted to make this last for as long as possible. Forever, if he had a say in it.
He couldn't continue. Caleb squeezed his eyes, in pleasure and in regret, as he pulsed inside her. When he surrendered to the last, Jamie reached for him and held him close. They were hot, sweaty, and breathing hard, but she didn't want to let go.
She took a couple minutes to gain her courage. It was surprisingly difficult to make this offer, and she realized why. There was no guarantee that this was going to work out, or that Caleb would agree to it since he had stopped talking about it a week ago, but she had to give it try or regret not doing so.
“This might be bad timing since I'm going to be leaving in a couple of hours,” Jamie said softly, “but . . .”
She felt Caleb go rigid, his muscles locking. Tension washed off him in waves. “Don't say it,” he warned her.
Don't say it? Why did he think it would be so bad to have it out in the open?
He lifted his head and glared at her. “I don't want to hear what you have to say,” he told her through clenched teeth. He actually looked angry that she would make this attempt. “Don't ruin this moment.”
“But this is—”
“I mean it, Jamie.” Caleb's cold tone was something she had never heard him used. She would have remembered it, especially if it had been directed to her. “Do not say another word.”
“Okay, fine.” She looked away and pressed her lips together.
“Good.” He laid his head back down on her chest.
“I won't ask you to leave with me.”
His head jerked up. “Leave?” His eyes were filled with disbelief. “As in leave Clover Bud? With you?”
She nodded, unable to remember the last time she had ever felt this nervous. “But I won't say it.”
“Jamie . . .” His voice wavered, and she knew she had pushed him too far.
Jamie sighed. “I should have given you more notice, I know. . . .”
“Why are you asking me now?” he asked, watching her cautiously.
She took a deep breath. “I've been up for a couple of hours, thinking about all I've done and all I've regretted.”
He looked surprised. “You regret this weekend?”
“Hell, no,” she said with great feeling. “My only regret for this weekend is that we should have done it sooner.”
Caleb laughed, and Jamie felt a little bit better. She always did when Caleb smiled at her.
“It turns out that I don't regret a lot of things,” Jamie said. “In fact, you will be my only regret.”
“You regret me?” Confusion and hurt shimmered in his eyes. “The time we spent together?”
“I'm going to regret not knowing the real you,” she confessed, feeling very vulnerable. “I feel close to you, and I tell you things I don't even tell my best friend, but I don't know enough about you.”
His expression darkened. “You might regret finding out.”
She knew she could tell him that that would never happen, but she saw the old pain in Caleb's eyes and knew it had happened to him before. She could only tell him what she knew. “I'm ready to take that chance.”
Caleb studied her expression, and Jamie could tell that he was afraid to trust his sudden good fortune. “Exactly what do you want from me?” he asked.
“I want you to leave town with me, and we can learn more about each other. I'm ready to leave Clover Bud, but I'm not ready to walk away from you.”
Caleb began to smile. “That's all I needed to hear.”

“Is that all you're taking?” Mia asked in horror as she stared at Caleb's backpack and suitcase.
“What do you mean?” Jamie interrupted. “I had to get rid of some stuff so Caleb could get his things in the car.”
“Yeah, it's a little thing called compromise,” Mia told Jamie. “Couples do it all the time.”
“Well, it sucks,” Jamie decided. “But I'll get the hang of it.”
“I think that's everything,” Caleb said as he tossed his bags in the car and closed the door.
“I can't believe you're going.” Tears pricked Mia's eyes.
Jamie looked at her as if she was going crazy. “I told you for years that I had to get out of this place.”
Yeah, but I didn't think that you would ever do it. “Are you ever coming back?”
Jamie nodded, “I'll drop by every chance I get.”
“And continue what we started this weekend?” Mia asked and waggled her eyebrows just like Jamie always did.
Jamie thought about that for a second. “Do you think it'll be the same?”
“Good point.” Mia would rather leave their weekend as a great memory than try to recapture the magic. “Everything changes.”
“We don't,” Jamie protested.
“Yeah, we do, but the important stuff stays the same.” Mia gave her friend a hug. She felt no spark or discomfort being so close. She felt like she was trying to hold on to her best friend. “I'm really going to miss you.”
Jamie held her tight. “I'm going to miss you, too.”
“And I admit it,” Mia said as she stepped out of the embrace, “I'm glad you are taking Caleb with you. He's good for you.”
“But am I good for him?”
Mia recognized that Jamie was serious. “I think you are.”
“You have to say that,” Jamie said with the roll of her eyes. “You're my best friend. Bye, Mia.”
“Bye.” Mia felt the tears clawing in her throat and could barely choke out her next words. “Thank you.”
“It was my pleasure,” Jamie said with a wicked smile.
Jamie paused and looked at Mia. She smiled and gave her another hug. Mia held on tight.
“Okay, you guys,” Caleb said beside them, “stop hugging each other like that.”
Mia smiled. “Is he getting jealous?” she asked Jamie.
“Hardly,” Caleb answered. “Hug someone like that around here, and people are going to get ideas.”
“The right ideas,” Jamie said with a sly smile.
Mia let go of Jamie and heard the front screen door slam shut. She turned to see Aidan dressed in his gym clothes. “Aidan, where are you going?”
“It's Monday morning,” he reminded her as he walked down the path to the sidewalk where they stood. “Most people go to work.”
“Hello? Do you know what day this is?” Jamie asked him. “I'm leaving Clover Bud.” Her news didn't warrant a flicker in Aidan's expression. “Forever.”
Aidan was not impressed. “You'll be back.”
