“I have a plan. They love their rules. Think of it as honor among thieves. Most seem relatively harmless. Playing subtle mind games, providing financial influence, making their own reality show, but on a microcosm. From what I can piece together, each is responsible for shaping the life of another either directly or indirectly, depending on if the subject is willing or influenced. Failure in some cases can be deadly. Curing a form of cancer secured my place among them. Had Lydia not fallen ill, I might have been killed, depending on the wager. It’s the council that’s my concern. Outside of them, most want to get their name in the trade publication, fulfill some need for control and have access to the sex parties, but the council...” His tone was flat. He averted his eyes and looked down at the blanket covering us.

I touched his face. “Are you OK?”

He refused to look at me. “I’m so confused about Lydia. Every day I come to realize more and more what I felt for her wasn’t romantic love. Admiration...maybe? Co-dependency? Hope? It’s hard to say. I may have never known the difference if I hadn’t met you. What I feel for you...is unlike anything else. You’ve made me question everything.”

“I sometimes wish I had refused to go to Paris or that I’d thrown away Miriam’s key. Your life would be uncomplicated, everything would make sense, and I wouldn’t have to see the pain in your eyes.” I closed my eyes, taking my turn to look away.

He caressed my cheek. “Elaine, look at me.”

I raised my gaze to meet his, and he pressed his naked body against mine. “I don’t want you to say or think that again.” His voice was harsh. “I’ve endured a lot throughout my life and felt nothing. Pain means there is something worth holding onto, something to fuel my passion. Pain and passion are two sides on one coin. The only reason I feel so much discomfort is because of how passionately you’ve taught me to love. You’ve awakened things in me that I didn’t know existed.”

“I know exactly how you feel.”

His lips covered mine, stealing my breath. I needed him. No more talking. No more dwelling on the past. I wanted to feel him in my soul.

“Xavier?”

“Yes, my queen?”

“Make love to me.”

He inhaled deeply and released the air on a shaky breath. “Oh, Elaine...” His knee nudged my legs apart, and he nestled between them, towering over me. His eyes were dark with desire. “Say it again.” His hard cock rested against my entrance.

“Make love to me, Xavier.” I gasped when he slid into me, filling me.

He lowered his body onto mine so that I experienced the full weight of him. He wrapped around my shoulders, encasing me with every inch of him. He whispered, “Don’t move.” He ground his hips harder against me. “Feel me inside you.”

I closed my eyes focusing on how he stretched me, filled me, made me whole.

He inhaled. “You smell so good.” He buried his face against my neck and kissed a trail to my ear. His hips began a slow rhythm as he rocked his cock in and out of me.

I gripped his ass and the muscles flexed, rippling under my touch with each penetration.

He groaned every time he entered me. He tugged on my shoulders while he thrust into me, diving as deep as possible.

“Elaine... So good.” His mouth caressed that sensitive place behind my ear. His groans turned to growls as he lost himself in his frantic thrusts.

Looking past his shoulder, I spied Sebastian leaning against the door frame, watching. He didn’t say a word.

Xavier melded to me as though he were trying to crawl inside my skin—each thrust deeper than the last. His breathing blew heavy against my ear, and his skin touched mine, everywhere. Heat bubbled from within as I watched Sebastian take in the outpouring of Xavier’s love for me.

I rubbed my hand along the smooth muscles of his back, and while keeping eye contact with Sebastian, I whispered in Xavier’s ear, “I love you, Xavier. Come for me.”

“No,” he growled. He sped up.

I urged him, wanting what his completion would give all of us. “Do it. Let me feel you. Let me have all of you.”

He pushed up on his arms and stared at me while maintaining his pace. “Not without you.” He positioned his hands under my hips, raised them and then grabbed one of my legs and then the other, resting them on his shoulders. He pulled my hips closer to him and began a new rhythm. “Fuck... Elaine. I can see us. How swollen and wet you are for me. How your pussy swallows my cock.” He bit his lip, while he drove into me with quick shallow strokes, teasing just the right spot.

I gripped the pillow. “Yes. That’s it.” I arched my back, forcing my aching breasts toward him. One final glance toward Sebastian, who rubbed his erection through his boxers, and I focused on Xavier.

But the groan that left Sebastian’s lips caught Xavier’s attention.

He turned to see his friend watching. “Sebastian, isn’t she perfect.” His thumb flicked over my clit once, and I gasped.

Sebastian walked to the side of the bed. He made no effort to join us, but confirmed Xavier’s assessment. “Without a doubt, X.”

Xavier sucked his thumb into his mouth, wetting the tip, and then returned to stroking back and forth across that sensitive spot again and again.

“Xavier... God... Yes... Right there.” I wound the sheet in my fist as I crested the peak. Forgetting my audience, my body surrendered to my king.

“Come for me, Elaine. Give me what’s mine.”

I did. I forced my pelvis against his cock and thumb, and my mind was overcome with euphoria.

He thrust into me hard, forcing himself deep through the contractions.

I panted his name, “Xavier.”

Sebastian smiled. “You are so beautiful when you come.”

Xavier drove into me hard and fast. Grinding his pelvis against mine with each penetration. He peered directly into my eyes as his body surrendered. Deep thrusts and then warm wetness filled me. Something between wonder and agony shone in his eyes.

Sebastian leaned down, placed a kiss to my forehead and whispered, “Sweet dreams,” before turning to leave Xavier and I to enjoy our post-coital bliss.

Xavier sat my hips gently on the bed before crawling beside me and kissing me. “I love you,” he breathed against my lips.

“I love you, too.”

He reached out with one finger and grazed my sensitive nipple. He teased the very tip a few times and then moved to the other to do the same.

His hand made a slow, teasing trail down my stomach, and rested between my legs.

My clit was still swollen and sensitive.

“Squeeze your muscles for me.” His finger circled my entrance.

I did as he asked, and his cum leaked from inside me. He ran his fingers through the thick liquid, sliding up and down, coating my sex in his essence.

“Why do you do that?”

His eyes grew wide. “Do you want me to stop?”

“No. I’m just curious.”

He kissed my forehead. His fingers continued to glide over my sex, through his release.

“I guess because for most of my life my orgasm always ended up on my shirt, pants or the floor.” He slid a finger into me. “It lets me feel how real our connection is. That I was really there, inside you. That you allowed me to be part of you. Tomorrow, anytime you’re away from me, there will always be part of me with you. Possessive, I know. But then there’s...”

He stared past me out the window.

“What?”

He laughed. “You don’t want to know.”

“Why would you think that? Just tell me.”

He moved his hand and spread his fingers across the lowest part of my abdomen and leaned into whisper in my ear. “Every time I come inside you, there’s this small spark of hope that your precautions will fail and that I’ll be able to place my hand right here and feel
my
child growing inside you. Elaine, I never wanted children. I shouldn’t want them now. But you make me want things I never knew were possible.”

I swallowed hard.

He laughed again. “See? I knew I shouldn’t have said anything. You look absolutely terrified.”

“No. I guess... I never... God... Just when I think you can’t shock me any more, you one up yourself.”

Smiling, he brushed the hair from my face. “At least life with me won’t be dull.”

“That’s for sure.”

CHAPTER TEN

Society

T
wo days had passed. Sebastian’s injury had begun to heal. The authorities hadn’t tracked us down for questioning. Even though Sebastian assured me men like the one from the market didn’t want to involve the authorities, worry had burned in the back of my mind.

Xavier turned to me and stared into my eyes. “We’re here. The rules. Do you remember the rules?”

“Yes.”

“Yes, what?”

“Yes, my king.”

He took my face in his hands. “Good girl.” He kissed me. When he released my lips, he reached up and traced the silver trim on the mask I wore before resting his lips against my forehead. “I am so lucky.”

Lanterns lit the walkway to the old gothic mansion, Ellington House—The Society’s home. We made our way to the front door. Sebastian and Xavier followed close, dressed in all black—blazer over a T-shirt and dress pants, each donning a solid black mask.

Xavier’s hand smoothed my short dress over the curve of my ass, caressing me through the black fabric. He pressed against my back and whispered in my ear, “You are so fucking sexy in that, if we didn’t have to go inside, I’d bend you over the hood of the limo and fuck you in the glow of that street lamp for all to see.”

I shivered. “What if I protested?”

Xavier squeezed my ass in warning.

Sebastian stopped, spun toward me and brushed a strand of hair out of my face, looping the tress behind my mask. “I’d hold you down. Hook my belt through those loops on your wrist cuffs and stretch you out for his taking. You could protest, beautiful, but your struggle would only make your punishment more severe.”

I gulped. Their words lit a fire in me I didn’t understand. I had never been submissive, but there was something powerful in giving them control. Surrender was always my choice. They never demanded my acquiescence, but one day I’d stifle my objections long enough to find out what giving in was like, to allow them to take what they needed. But until then... “I’d fight you.”

“Good, that makes the prize more exciting. Gives me an excuse to redden your bottom before X and I take turns fucking it.”

My mouth gaped open. Speechless.

Xavier pressed his hips against my ass and rubbed his hard cock through the cloth, between my cheeks.

Sebastian ran his thumb over my bottom lip.

“Oh, the things we could do with this sassy little mouth of yours.”

My cheeks heated as I watched Sebastian’s lips make the approach and then crush against mine.

He pulled away and said, “You get a reprieve tonight. We’re on a mission, and I’m still healing. But never doubt, I’m making a list of the defiant things you say, and I’m going to make sure you are punished for every single one.”

I couldn’t resist. “Promises. Promises.”

He clutched my chin in one hand, squeezing my cheeks. “That’s one hundred and fifty-nine.” His lips, silky and tender, touched mine, an endearment so contradictory to his words. “Come on love, X is the guest of honor.”

Xavier laced his fingers through mine and led me through the door, and into small foyer and to a podium much like a host might stand at in a fine restaurant.

The tall, dark haired man behind the podium also wore a mask. His was rimmed in red.

“What can I get for you this evening, sir?”

Xavier replied without hesitation, “Moonshine.”

The man smiled, showing his bright, white teeth. Everything about him was model-perfect. “Then you’ve come to the right place. Are you expected?”

“Yes.”

“Business or pleasure, sir?”

“Both.”

“You understand,” he pointed first to me, and then to Sebastian, “they are your responsibility.

“Yes.” Xavier nodded, seeming to speak to the man in some strange code.

“Are either claimed?”

“Yes. She is.” Xavier patted my shoulder.

“Very good. Give me your wrist, little one.”

Little one? Who did the clown think he was?

I extended my hand toward the man and Xavier grabbed both of my arms, pinning them behind me.

“Love, I don’t believe you asked permission. You do not offer any part of your body to another man unless I say so.”

I fought the confusion that engulfed me with his actions, but when I felt his thumb caressing the skin of my arm just above my scar, I understood. It was Sebastian that had suggested the kinky wrist cuffs in the first place. If there was some kind of connection between my marking and the Society, the fewer people that knew about it, the better. I swallowed hard. “I understand, my king.”

“As long as you understand that nothing happens without my permission. Here.” He released my unmarked wrist and extended the arm toward the greeter.

The man circled my wrist with a band that looked very much like a zip tie. Etched into the white plastic was the word ‘sacred.’

“You sir? Member or guest?”

“Guest,” Sebastian replied and extended his arm, palm side up.

The host gave Sebastian a flirty smile and looped a red band around his wrist. “I’m guessing you’re more the hunter than the hunted, right?”

Sebastian grinned. “Without a doubt.”

The man flashed an appreciative smile at Sebastian. “I’ll have to remember that once we close the doors.”

“Perhaps you should.”

I tried not to show the pang of jealousy that floated through me. What right did I possibly have to be jealous? Xavier was mine. To claim Sebastian as my own as well would be beyond selfish. It was all far more complicated than I’d even suspected. Double the emotions magnified every insecurity.

“And you, Sir, must be the member.”

“Yes.”

He placed a black band around Xavier’s wrist.

In many ways, lining up and receiving a wristband felt like a trip to an amusement park, but I was sure what this night offered would be far more entertaining.

The young man wrote something in a book. His white wristband flashed in the light. I wanted to ask to whom he belonged, but Xavier had been steadfast in his instructions. Do not speak unless spoken to. He obviously had more information than I did; I had no reason to refute him.
