Chapter 16.

When
they arrived at the suite, Alessandro swept Connie inside, clicked  the Do
Not Disturb sign into place, and carried her to their bedroom.  Setting
her on her feet by the bed, he hesitated about undressing her.  Should he
quickly remove her bikini or leave it to her?  He did not want her to
think his sole reason for bringing her to their suite was so that he could have
a sex festival with her.  Particularly bearing in mind how upset she had
been at his near-accident—

He
frowned.  He should have waited until they were alone before asking her
why she had thrown herself, crying, into his arms the moment he was back on the
beach.  He didn’t entirely accept her airy remark that she had been upset
at the thought of him being killed—  He shook his head.  Connie was
too level-headed for that.  But why had she been so upset?

Connie’s
hand on his arm brought him out of his
rêverie.

“Yes,
what,
carissima?”

Connie’s
soft voice, still a little shaky, asked, “Do you want us to have a nap now?”

Quickly,
he gathered his thoughts. “Yes, I do.  I’m sorry to be a bit distracted—I
was glad to be back on
terra firma,
and to get my arms around you.
But why did you cry so bitterly?  There must be another reason than that
you feared for a fatal accident?”

Connie
sighed.  “Alessandro, I sleep in your bed, in your arms.  And you’re
my husband now. Yes, I have feelings for you—which you probably don’t
reciprocate entirely.  I know you believe in passion and friendship, and
of course so do I—but I feel something else for you as well.  I don’t know
how to designate it except as love.  But you don’t want to hear
that.  So it seems we are at an
impasse
.

His
heart leapt.
She feels more for me than friendship and passion—same as
I feel for her.  Except I have good reason not to believe in love, and so
has she.  What is it, then?  A sense of closeness, brought into
sharper focus by being married?  I’ll ask Nonna,
he decided.

He
hugged Connie closer.  “Whatever it is, this elusive feeling—do you think
it worth exploring by making love?”

He
smiled at the eagerness with which she said, “Oh yes, I do,
caro.”

 “Come
here, and let me undress you.”

 “Only
if you let me undress you at the same time.”
“I wouldn’t have it any other
way.  Okay, you start.”

Connie
grinned.  “It’s a lot easier undressing you when you’ve been on your Wave
Runner—you’re wearing hardly any clothes at all.”

 “I
was just coming to the same conclusion about you.  Come here, I said.”

Connie
slid her hand into the front of his swim trunks, and quckly found his deeply
aroused penis.  Using her other hand to strip the shorts down, she
protested with a groan when she had to let go of him, as he turned her around
to untie the back of her bikini bra.  Her scraps of clothing were soon
lying on top of his swim trunks, and he tossed her onto the bed, instantly
following her down.

Connie
sighed at his deep chest, with the trail of black body hair following the lower
edge of his pectorals, arrowing down in the centre.  Her attention was
diverted from his body when his to-die-for mouth found hers, and he began to
kiss her.  His kisses were seductive, deeply sensual, passionate and insistent
at the same time.  She melted into him as of old, and whispered against
his lips, “Alessandro…”  Her hand trailed over his chest—farther down,
ever farther down.

He
whispered, “Only if you want me.”

“Don’t
you know yet that I do?  So very much.”

He hugged
her more tightly to him.  “Yes, I know.  Believe that I want you just
as much.”  She sank into him, knowing he loved that most of all.
When he moaned, “Connie—” she smiled to herself.  Gazing into the blue
fire of his eyes, half hidden by the long sweep of his curling black lashes,
she whispered back, “I love you.”

She
felt his body still, then he tightened his embrace.  “Whatever it is that
you give the name ‘love’ to—I think that I feel the same thing for you.”

Connie
felt her heart stand still.  “You think you do?”

He
nodded.  “I discovered it when the Wave Runner conked out.  All I
wanted was to get back to you there on the beach.”  He lifted a slim,
black brow.  “I noticed the thunderclouds too and realized I would be a
target for lightning.  And I so much wanted to hold you in my arms and
tell you that I felt more than passion and friendship for you—admittedly, I
don’t know what that feeling is.”  He smiled.  “I’m going to ask
Nonna, when we get back.”

“What
a good idea, I’m sure she will know exactly what it is we’re feeling.”
She hesitated a moment, before whispering, “Alessandro?  Please will you
make love to me?  I need to be very very close to you…”

“And
so you shall be,
amore.”
He held her tightly to him, sighing
deeply when he felt her palm on his hard, heavy penis—felt her curling her
fingers around him as far as she could reach, lovingly caressing his
shaft.   She slid her other hand between his upper thighs, reaching
for his sac, for the testes, swollen with his seed, and began to fondle him
there.

After
a while, he slowly moved her hands from where she was caressing him.  His
long fingers parted the pale curls at the apex of her thighs, and he quickly
found the pearly clitoris.  Bending his dark head far down, he began to
excite the clitoris with lazy licks.  Slowly licking his way farther down,
he bestowed the most intimate kiss of all, elated to find her drenched for
him.  Their bodies had begun to move together in the age-old dance of
love.  Now, their movements were faster and more explicit.

Alessandro
kissed his way up Connie’s body again and, when he reached her mouth, he
clasped her tightly to him, nudging her gently so that she came to lie on top
of him.  He smiled when she sought his penis, placing his tip between her
velvety folds.  Instantly, he lifted her by the hips, holding her slightly
aloft, so that she could begin to impale herself on his erection.

The
moment she felt his body begin to move faster as he caressed her nipples
sensually with his tongue, suckling, teasing with his teeth—she began to slide
down as far as she could. She slid one hand behind her, down to his sac and the
silken testes—and began to caress them in the wild, savage rhythm of their
bodies’ movements.  She began to ride him in the way she knew he found
irresistible—undulating, her pelvis making little circles, which invariably
drove him to the very edge of his endurance.

Just
then, Alessandro clasped her tightly to him and turned around with her, so that
she came to lie beneath him.  He wanted to give her all of him for those
last few breathless moments before the orgasm he felt building began to
overwhelm them.  He thrust harder, faster, certain that it was impossible
for him to reach a greater depth in her, until he felt her contractions begin,
and she took him even deeper.  A cataclysmic orgasm claimed  both of
them at the same time, and he felt the rapturous bliss of his seed flooding her
depth in surge after impassioned surge, for a seemingly endless time.

When
he could think again, he tried to lift himself away from her.  He smiled
at her instant protest.  “No,
inamorato,
no!  Stay were you
are.  It feels so good to have you where I want you most.”

He
complied only too willingly.  Being with Connie was everything he’d ever
wanted, and so much more.  He bent to her, licking the corner of her mouth
before kissing it gently.  “Anything you want,
amore.”

She
responded by tightening her intimate muscles around his still hard penis, with
a most predictable result.  Instantly, he grew back into her, thickening
and lengthening.

 “You
know  what happens when you tighten those delicious velvety muscles of
yours around me?” he asked, drifting kisses everywhere he could reach.

 “You
can blame my muscles, but you know as well as I that once is never enough for
you,
amore,”
she whispered, surrendering again to what only he could
make her feel.

It
took quite an effort on their part to get up in time for dinner, but they made
it.  Both opted for Greek dishes they had heard of, or eaten in some
restaurant—but never before prepared by a Greek chef.  They were pleased
with their choices, and enjoyed offering each other bites from their dinners.

 When
they were getting ready for bed, Alessandro said casually, “If I wake up early
tomorrow, I might take a Wave Runner out for a bit.  I think you’ve had
about all you can take of jet-skis, right?”

“I’d
like to watch you, though…”  She didn’t wait for his reply, and went into
the bathroom.  When she returned she said calmly, “Let’s just get some
sleep, Alessandro.  If you want to get up early to go on that lethal
thing, you better get enough rest.”  She went to her side of the bed,
tossed the coverlet to the foot-end, and slid into bed.

Alessandro
was surprised, and a bit discomfited.  Was this because he wanted to take
the Wave Runner out?  He frowned.  No, Connie wasn’t petty.
Maybe she was just tired, and thought he needed to be fully awake and fit to
ski effectively.  Hmm, that was probably it.

He
slid into his side of the bed, holding out his arms to Connie.  “I assure
you that I can multi-task,
amore.
I can make love to you—this is
our mini-honeymoon after all—and ski tomorrow morning.  Well?”

Connie
smiled.  “I’m sure you can, but all the same, let’s just get some
sleep?  We didn’t sleep at all during our nap.”

A
deep sense of unease slowly began to fill him.  Something wasn’t right
between them—but what?  How could he make things better, when he didn’t
know what was wrong?  Wait—was this because of the accident, leaving him
bobbing powerless on the lake until Keith came with his Cris-Craft?  True,
she had been very upset about that.  Even so, surely she realized that
didn’t happen every time?

He
slid a little closer to her.  “Whatever you wish.  Come and snuggle
up to me for sleep.”

Connie
readily slipped into his arms, gently caressing his torso as her hand slid down
farther to find its favourite resting place—her palm on his groin, her thumb
slowly caressing his skin.
What she does to me—  I’ll go along
for now with her no-sex decision.  During the night she won’t be able to
refuse me—

Connie woke from a deep sleep to soft kisses, quickly
growing insistent.  Ah, Alessandro had woken up.  She wondered if he had
been upset by her earlier suggestion that they go to sleep when he wanted to
make love.  Had she been unkind to him?  Perhaps he hadn’t yet slept
at all?  She decided to let him know he had woken her, and she was glad
that he had.

 “Inamorato?

Thank you for waking me up—I was having such an unhappy
dream.”

“Then I’m very glad I woke you.  I tried to get
to sleep, but I couldn’t—for wanting to be with you,
amore.
Please?

He was unprepared for the soft kisses to his throat
and her whispered, “I’ve told you many times before, you don’t ever have to say
please to me.”

He tightened his embrace, bending his dark head to her
breasts, kissing and laving and suckling until she writhed in his arms,
whispering “Please…”

Unable to utter another word, he slid her beneath him,
thrusting hard, giving her all of him at once.

And in the act of love he felt the remaining hurt of
her earlier refusal go away completely.

Later, she turned to him, lavishing soft kisses on his
upper chest, reaching up to kiss his throat.  “I’m sorry I wasn’t in the
mood earlier,” she whispered.

Amore,
you have every right to refuse when
you’re not in the mood, even if I am,” he sighed, still a bit anxious.
“Any reason you weren’t in the mood?”

Connie shook her head against Alessandro’s chest. “Not
really…”

He frowned teasingly.  “Either you had a reason
for not being in the mood, or you hadn’t.  Which is it?”

“No real reason—well, maybe I felt disappointed that
you were planning to get up early the next day just so you could…”

“Go on that damn jet-ski?” he added helpfully.
