“Yes, ma’am.” He slammed into her in one stroke burying himself to the hilt, as a loud cry was forced from her throat. In a quick decision, Striker rolled them over maintaining their intimate connection. “I want you to ride me baby.”

“Yes, sir,” she answered with a flirty smirk, as she leaned forward to place her hands on his chest. She moved up and down on him, slowly, sliding with ease. She looked hot as hell above him. Her breasts swayed with every rise and fall, and her hair flowed around her face. Striker coasted his hands up her body, and paused to spend some time at her breasts. He pinched and rolled her nipples, triumph swelling as her head fell back on her shoulders.

“God, Striker, I love your hands on me.” Her hips undulated against him with increasing speed and he knew she was losing control.

Striker looked at where they were joined. The sight of his arousal disappearing into Lila’s body again and again was sexy, so sexy he could barely tear his gaze away. Then, suddenly he needed to feel more of her skin against his skin. He surged up and gripped her thighs, wrapping her legs around his waist. He scooted until his back hit the headboard, and her arms flew around him to steady herself. She was essentially sitting in his lap, molded to him from groin to chest. The position didn’t allow for great movement, but it surged him deeper into her and fused their entire bodies together.

“Striker.” She moaned with her eyes closed. Her pelvis ground against him and she rocked in his lap.

“Tell me, baby.” He knew he wouldn’t last much longer, and wanted to give her what she needed.

“I’ve never—I mean, you’re so deep, I’m so full.” Her voice was heavy with emotion.

“Open your eyes, Lila, look at me,” he commanded.

They moved together, eyes locked, the only sounds those of their gasps and whimpers. The position was intimate, and the visual connection prevented either from hiding any emotion behind closed eyelids. All the feelings they’d developed for each other, but were afraid to voice because they both knew the relationship was doomed, passed between them through their intense gaze.

Part of him wanted to tell her how important she was becoming to him. How she made him a better man. How he admired the amazing woman she was, and wanted to be with her twenty-four hours a day. But it would only make him a selfish bastard, so he kept it inside and showed her instead.

Her entire body trembled as her pussy began convulsing, and he knew she was coming. “Stay with me, baby, keep your eyes on me.”

Lila cried out with abandon as an orgasm slammed into her, causing her to rhythmically clench around him. Unable to hold back any longer he let out a long groan and shuddered in her arms. It was unbelievably intense, the physical release and the emotional satisfaction he found in her arms.

They held each other, still linked, unable to break their connection, until their bodies calmed and breathing returned to normal. When the quaking slowed, Striker kissed her, maintaining their position and showing her with his mouth how much she meant to him. Eventually he pulled his head back and untangled their bodies to lie them down on the bed.

“That was the hottest thing I’ve ever experienced,” Lila whispered. Her hand ran over his chest in a light caress.

“For me too,” he agreed.

Chapter Twenty

Striker lay quiet for a few minutes and enjoyed the afterglow of the powerful sexual encounter. Lila’s soft weight cuddled against him while they rested was something he could become addicted to.

“We never got a chance to talk about the meeting. How did it go?” A nervous tremor sounded in her voice, and Striker regretted that the sated moment couldn’t last longer.

“I think their VP is going to stage a coup. Fuck, maybe he already has. These sloppy broad daylight attacks, with witnesses present, is not something their president would allow. Snake is much more violent, much more impulsive and power hungry. He doesn’t have near the leadership experience Jackal does, but he wants to be in charge. It’s a volatile combination.” He stroked a hand over the smooth strands of her hair as he spoke to her.

Being with her like this, sharing his burdens in a relaxed and intimate way, was good for his soul. It made him hope he may not be the worst man in the world for her. The feeling only lasted a second, because the topic of conversation was reminder enough of why he was all wrong for her.

“That doesn’t sound good at all. What does this mean for the club, for me?” She linked the fingers of one hand with his where it rested on his stomach.

Striker brought their joined hands up to his lips and pressed a kiss to her knuckles. “Well we need to be sure of what’s going on before we make a move. So first step is surveillance.”

“Won’t that be dangerous? What if you’re caught?” Lila lifted her head, and propped her chin on his chest. Fear was evident on her face.

Striker shook his head. “Not for you to worry about, babe. Let the club handle it.” He wasn’t going to share details about how they planned to stake out the Grimm’s clubhouse. “What time were you supposed to check on Hook?”

“Oh my God! I totally forgot! What kind of doctor am I?”

Striker laughed as she shot out of bed as though it was made of hot coals. “The horny kind?”

Lila glared at him while she threw her clothes on and ran out the door. She hadn’t bothered to fix herself up, and her tousled hair alone gave the appearance of someone who’d been fucked well and good. Striker laughed out loud imagining her embarrassment at the inevitable teasing she’d receive from Hook when he saw her.

Striker rolled out of the bed, and bent to retrieve his discarded pants. He slipped them on and shrugged into a plain T-shirt and shoes, and headed back downstairs toward the bar. He had some trash to take out.

A few steps from the bottom, he stopped to take in the room and decide how he wanted to play this. Striker needed to have a chat with Brandi, one that ended with her leaving for good, and he needed the rest of the club to know she was no longer welcome. While he wasn’t one to air his shit in public, or cause a dramatic scene with a woman, he wanted this witnessed so the crazy bitch couldn’t accuse him of anything that would get him in trouble with Lila.

Brandi was seated at the bar. Striker watched her shamelessly flirt with Kenny who moved a bit slow from his injury. The Kid sat next to her and wasn’t left out of her little seduction scheme. She batted her painted eyes, and leaned forward so far her tits practically fell out of her top. Both prospect’s gazes were glued to her chest, and Striker could have filled a bucket with their drool.

Being VP had a number of perks, obedience being one of them. When he was in earshot of Kid and Kenny he called out to them. “Beat it, prospects. I need to talk to Brandi.”

Both men looked surprised but wisely didn’t argue. Kenny turned to a task of restocking bottles, and Kid moved a few stools down the bar, no doubt straining his ears to hear every word. He wouldn’t have to work too hard. Striker didn’t plan to make any of this a secret.

Brandi twisted around on her stool, and gave Striker a sultry smile that left little doubt as to her intentions toward him. “Hey, Striker,” she purred. “What happened to your little friend?”

“Lila is no concern of yours.” His voice held no warmth, but if Brandi picked up on it, she didn’t let it show.

“Whatever you say. Whatever you want.” She leaned forward to show off even more of her breasts, if that was possible.

Striker wanted to roll his eyes at her desperate yet ineffective attempt to seduce him. He was over her shit.

“Are you ready to have some fun with a woman who knows what you like?” Brandi batted her eyelashes in a way he assumed she thought was sexy. In reality she looked like she had something in her eye.

Never one to pass up an opportunity for a little fun, Striker smirked. “I am. Actually that’s exactly why I’m here.”

Brandi’s face lit up, and she rose from the stool to take a step toward him. Before she could speak, Striker did. “It’s time for you to go, Brandi.”

Undeterred, Brandi’s heavily made up mouth turned down in a pout. She reached out to run a hand up his chest, but Striker stopped her before she could touch him with a hand around her wrist. It wasn’t a gentle hold. “Come on, Striker, don’t be like that.” Brandi’s whiney voice grated on his nerves.

“I didn’t think you were an idiot as well as a bitch, Brandi, but this is the second stupid thing you’ve done today, so apparently I was wrong.”

Her gaudy face fell. The come hither look turned to a nasty sneer as he released her wrist. Here comes the vindictive bitch. Striker smiled, glad she would show her true colors in front of the entire club. It would only serve to justify his decision to run her ass out of there. None of these guys were interested in drama or a high maintenance woman.

“Fuck you!” Her high pitched shriek reverberated through the clubhouse. Silence fell as a dozen or so eyes trained on the escalating scene at the bar. “You think you’ll get it half as good from that snobby bitch? Say whatever you want now, Striker, but you’ll be bored with her ass and come running back to me soon.”

Striker had about one minute of tolerance left for this nonsense. “Brandi, I’ll say this slow since you seem to need it.” Someone snickered across the room. “I fucked you once, six months ago. Since then you’ve spread your legs for nearly every guy in the club. You’re little more than a whore, and you’ve caused trouble more than once. We let you stay because most of the guys thought you were a pretty good lay. I don’t really agree, but what are you gonna do?”

Brandi’s hand flew up, and sailed toward his face. Striker caught it before it had the chance to crack across his cheek. With a fierce grip on her wrist he leaned in close and spoke in a low voice for her ears only. “You have exactly one minute to get the fuck out of here. Try to hit me again, and you may need to be carried out of here. I hear you so much as glance in Lila’s direction at any time, and you won’t like what happens. You understand me?” His voice was lethal, and he knew by the way her eyes widened and she struggled out of his hold that she was finally taking him seriously.

Brandi yanked her arm free, took a step back, and looked at the floor with a nod, all bravado and flirtation gone. Without moving her focus from the ground, she grabbed her purse and started toward the door. Before she left, Striker called out one last warning. “You are not to step foot in this clubhouse again. Don’t test me on that. I promise you won’t like the results.”

Once she put a few steps of distance between them, her attitude returned, and she flipped Striker off with both hands. When she was halfway to the exit, a low chorus of “Hit the Road Jack” rose up from behind Striker. By the time Brandi had a hand on the door, the entire room had broken out in song to bid Brandi farewell.

The door closed with a slam, and the men went from singing to laughing as they slapped each other’s backs and called for more drinks from the prospect. Striker chuckled himself, and turned in the direction of the room that housed Hook. His eyes met Lila’s where she stood at the end of the hall, obviously having witnessed the entire exchange.

Curious as to her reaction to this little display, Striker raised an eyebrow in question. Lila shook her head and gave him a stern look. Striker moved toward his woman, and didn’t give her a chance to scold him. He dragged her in for a kiss that had him hard and wishing they were alone. He released her, and laughed at the pink blush that bloomed over her face as the room erupted once again, this time in whistles and catcalls.

Chapter Twenty-One

Lila glanced around the classroom at the faces of the volunteers who came out for her first “head banging” committee meeting, as Striker had called it. Marcie was there as promised, and Lila couldn’t have been happier to see her new friend. Marcie’s bubbly personality would be a huge asset when organizing the fundraiser. Cammie, her RN friend from the hospital, was there as well, and Lila raised a quick hand in greeting.

Nine others sat scattered around the room in the students’ desks. Lila recognized a few as parents of athletes from the football team she’d met the night of the school board meeting. The remaining faces were strangers.

“Thank you all so much for coming,” she began, unable to keep the grin off her face. “This project has been an aspiration of mine for a while, and your willingness to volunteer your time means the world to me. What I’d like to accomplish tonight, is—”

The sound of the door opening drew the attention of everyone in the room. Lila turned toward the distraction as well. She wanted to bang her head against the black board when Earl White hustled into the room, and scurried to an open seat in the front row of desks. She’d completely forgotten he’d told her he wanted to volunteer.

“I’m sorry, Dr. Emerson. I know I’m late, but I had to wait to leave the house until mother was settled for the evening. I really hope I didn’t miss anything important. Well, it’s all important, but you know what I mean. You look very nice tonight, doctor.”

Lila plastered on a polite smile for the man whose effusive nature was all the more embarrassing when she was supposed to be in a leadership role. “It’s fine, Mr. White. Glad you could join us.” She almost choked on the words as she imagined how difficult it would be to get anything accomplished with him around.

When she shifted her focus back to the room, she caught Marcie’s gaze. The other woman batted her eyelashes, and made a silent kissing motion in Lila’s direction. Lila had to press her lips together to keep from laughing out loud. Yes, it was quite obvious that Mr. White had a little crush on her.

“As I was saying,” she continued. “I’d like us to go around and introduce ourselves, and maybe let the others know what motivated you to be here tonight. Then I think it would be best if we split into two groups. One group will focus on planning a fundraiser to raise money for new safety equipment and pads. The other group will be making an educational presentation and pamphlets based on the research materials I’ve received from the Center for Disease Control.”

She looked around the room, pleased to see people taking notes and giving her their undivided attention. There wasn’t anything worse than people who joined a committee and didn’t have any real intention to work. So far, it appeared that her volunteers were all dedicated to the cause.
