Jase’s head snapped around to Trevor. “Geez, does everything that comes out of your mouth paint a rabid picture?”

They ordered and ate. Jase talked his little Blonde into taking a twenty minute break back in his room, which shocked Trevor. Jase talked a whole lot about what he’d do with a woman but rarely if ever brought one to his bed. Trevor got his own room beside Jase’s. He listened to the bed in Jase’s room rattling in a rhythm which could only mean one thing, no sleep. Trevor decided he needed a run. He walked outside, around the building, and headed into the forest surrounding the diner and motel.

After a hundred feet or so into the trees, Trevor pulled his clothes off and folded them neatly, leaving them near a tree trunk. He shifted and ran for miles, leaped over fallen trees, across a small creek, chased a white tail deer, and then stopped short.

Lindsey.

Her arousal floated around him like it coated the trees, leaves on the ground, and every molecule of air that touched him. He scanned the area and saw it. A big black SUV parked outside a run-down one room cabin in the middle of no where.

He should go back for Jase, but he didn’t. Instead, he stalked slowly toward his mate with intentions of killing Smoke for stealing Lindsey and for Smoke’s abuse of her. Trevor stopped near a tree, close enough he heard them inside. There were only the two of them, Smoke and Lindsey. Trevor shifted into his human-form. He crouched low and moved closer, standing outside a broken window.

Smoke scented Lindsey’s ex-lover outside and knew he stood alone, close enough he should hear them. Maybe even watch them. Smoke wondered why the Lycan outside hadn’t communicated with the rest of his pack and decided his pack hadn’t accompanied him on this chase.

Smoke had given Lindsey a small injection of Startem, what he considered his passion therapy from his ample supply packed in the back of the SUV. He couldn’t trust her yet, although she satisfied his needs all the way there. He used the drug as a way of occupying her mind and body while he secured the perimeter of their hide-away.

When he walked back inside, Lindsey laid folded in a fetal position, fingers busy inside and outside of all her most feminine parts. Her arousal permeated the air with a passionate ambience, alluring and sweet enough he tasted it. His cock jolted, hard and ready. Her ex-lover would get an eye-full and an ear-full, and if he stepped foot inside the cabin, Smoke would kill him.

He unbuckled the sheath carrying his silver-bladed knife from his belt loop and set it next to where he’d lay with Lindsey. Smoke peeled off his jeans and dropped down beside her. He’d never allowed a woman any meaning in his life, mostly because he never found one who wasn’t afraid of him, until Lindsey, the little spit-fire called him on upholding his mark. She amused him, for now.

Smoke pulled her on top of him, knowing this position would show his mark on her shoulder best, the only mark he’d ever given any female. He also knew what a grand show she’d give, considering the little dose he’d given her.

His cock grew thick and heavy in arousal for…
his
mate. Something he never considered a possibility. He’d simply taken advantage of the females in his pack. If he blindfolded them, he didn’t witness their loathing of his disfigurement. Smoke never saw Lindsey cringe when she looked at him. In fact, her expressions never wavered, easy to read and what he read from her made his heart stir for the first time in his life.

Lindsey molded her body over top of Smoke, grinding her mound against his erection. Her nipples hardened into knots and jabbed into the planes of his chest. He ran his palms down her back and she shivered in response. Lindsey’s fingers snaked around his cock, squeezing, guiding it to her entrance, so warm and moist.

He pushed Lindsey’s shoulders up, her luscious breasts arching for attention. She raised and centered herself above the tip of his cock. Smoke pinched her nipples and she slammed herself down, swallowing him whole inside her. She gasped, breasts arching into his palms, and hips rocking his shaft in and out of her. He rolled one of her nipples and she whimpered. His other hand slid down her belly, lower, rubbing her swollen clit with his thumb. Lindsey’s rhythmic pace increased, pulling Smoke along in her tidal wave and driving him closer toward release.

His hands grabbed her hips and he plunged inside her. Lindsey leaned back, her passage gripping his cock tight. She gently squeezed his balls and they tightened. Her moans panting out of her on a rising tide of sound. Smoke bellowed as she leaned forward and rode him hard and furious. Her breasts bounced across his chest, nipples touching nipples, and then Lindsey pinched both of his.

Smoke erupted inside her convulsing walls, electric snaps igniting nerve endings through his body collecting at the sensitive head of his cock. Her tongue dipped between his teeth, shocking him. No woman had ever attempted any kind of kiss with him. The sensation of her tongue touching his brought his cock back to full erection, stretching and filling her again.

Lindsey’s hips undulated, demanding more of his thickness inside her. She broke away from his mouth and sat back on her knees, rising up his shaft and sliding down again, slow.

Smoke heard the ex-lover’s gasp of disgust from outside the window. He saw Lindsey was oblivious to it, her focus totally on being pleased and pleasing him. It was his first time ever that he wanted to please a woman more than himself. The ex-lover left the cabin and Smoke sensed when he went wolf. Lindsey hesitated at the top of his cock when a howl echoed against the cabin walls.

Smoke bucked into her and flipped her onto her back, knowing he’d have her for hours without interruption.

Trevor stood mesmerized beside the broken window, watching his naked primal-mate sensually lower herself onto Smoke’s cock. Trevor waited. His heart retched at the act she had put herself through. He knew his mate in some way must have a plan. She’d pick a moment and strike the Alpha down. Trevor would fly through the door and help her, preserving his mates honor.

He couldn’t turn away, drawn by Lindsey’s seductive behavior, how she initiated and looked like she enjoyed the passionate intimacy, playing her part so well with Smoke. She’d pick her moment, it would happen any second.

Then her hair swung away from her shoulder, she leaned back, touching the balls of the monster with gentle fingers, his cock hard inside her. They climaxed together, loud, filled with emotional release as well as orgasmic.

Trevor’s heart exploded into a million pieces at the sight of their lust, and then he saw the Alpha’s mark on Lindsey’s shoulder. She belonged to Trevor. She was
his
primal-mate. He choked, fighting for control. No woman had ever broken his heart.

His body took over and shifted into wolf, a long bawling howl burst from his lungs. He leaped away from the cottage, his eyes, nose, mouth, heart, all burning in a desperate fire of images and scents he couldn’t bury from his mind. Her arousal, thick as mud, clung like he just surfaced through an oil spill in the middle of a huge ocean.

How could she intentionally betray him? She was his primal-mate, he was hers. They were only meant for each other, no one else. Trevor ran hard, for hours, through the daylight and into the night, far away from that one room cabin and his primal-mate. He headed home, needing his pack family before he did something he’d totally regret.

Miles and miles of running, no food, no drink, and no pack-talk, and then the broken pieces churning inside him turned into stone, emerging, roiling out of him, more running, more miles. His body heaved and raged in anger, until finally he shut down, only blissful blackness.

Chapter Twenty-Three

Olivia woke. She sat up, at first not recognizing Chance’s bedroom. Her feminine parts burned. She touched her sensitive taut nipples. Memories flooded back in a rushing wave. Chance had come and saved her, carrying her away from Smoke…and Lindsey. Moisture dripped from her forehead and face, sending boiling heat through her entire body, like every cell became a melting pot. She flipped the blankets back in an attempt at cooling her body and looked down. Her naked feminine parts appeared swollen and bright pink, surely from overuse, and to her surprise, moisture gathered there again, like some harlot in lust.

Was she broken?

She needed more information on the Lycan life and controlling her lust. It made her wonder if Lycan looked at anyone as a whore. Olivia moved quickly, dressing.

Blood in her veins burned through her body. She sensed her own pulse, could feel it, hear it. Her heart beat so loud and so strong, she watched its force tap against the T-shirt over her breast. She scented Chance strongly in the room. She remembered how he had cleansed her body outside and in, and then how he had taken her, even from behind, filling her with his semen.

Had Smoke taken her from behind in that same way? How Lindsey had pleasured Olivia with her tongue. How Olivia had pleasured herself. None of it seemed to matter, and yet it all mattered.

Olivia needed out, outside, fresh air, the moon overhead, running through the trees, hearing her feet pounding over the dirt and leaves. She imagined leaping over fallen trees, filling her lungs with fresh air, but mostly, she craved opening her lungs and howling. Now.

She knew the way out from the main room down the hall and through another door, but instead she looked at the pair of elevator doors in the center of Chance’s suite that required a code to enter. Olivia pressed the open button anyway and to her shock the doors shushed apart. She rode up, stopped at the parking lot, climbed into Chance’s truck, and slid open the outside access with his remote above the visor.

Olivia jumped out of the truck and ran for the opened access leading outside. She needed freedom, away from everyone and everything. Something boiled inside her, purging toward escape, emanating outward for release, and she intended on letting it go, whatever prisoner she held inside herself.

Once outside, she ran faster than she’d ever run in her life, even as a youth. She ran straight for the trees, calculating they were a few miles away. Damp early morning air hit her, blowing her hair and touching her bare arms and face. The full moon caught her attention. It still hung in the sky, determining the direction she ran.

Olivia’s blood sizzled through her veins like lightening, hot and electric. She ran across the field at a speed so fast everything blurred, and yet her body begged for faster, more freedom. Sudden pain speared into her bones, crippling, every bone in her body demanding attention. Her muscles seized, tearing, elongating. Pain spiraled, waves of it touching each cell, emanating into all tissue, weaving and melding inside her brain. She bent and stumbled, her legs not working, her eyes unseeing, hearing cloth ripping as if thunder cracked in her ears.

Screams, her screams, like waking from a painful horrid nightmare, the screams turned into growls, barks, and then howls. Her eyes came into focus, a lower level of seeing, yet she saw every leaf from the trees beyond. She jumped up at a sound, on her hands and feet, no, on four feet…paws. She stood on four paws.

Someone coming, she sniffed the air, tasted it. She must run, get away. Her pack, she needed her pack. Elation gleaned a wealth of emotions and feelings, forming a pattern of thought for her, a natural blood call. Her family was calling her home.

“Hey, boss, Olivia just ran out of the access door. She’s on foot, if you can believe that,”
Jasmine’s voice filled the inside of Chance’s head.

“Damn. Thanks. Keep watch through surveillance. I’m going after her.”

Chance ripped his clothes off in the elevator, Olivia’s scent heavy in the enclosure. Once the doors opened, he ran toward the access door Jasmine was keeping open for him. He scented Olivia across the property, something tinged it, familiar, but not part of Olivia.

It hit him hard what he was scenting on Olivia, the rogue alpha, Smoke, so much like his brother, Savage. Confusion chipped away at Chance, piecing together his cleansing of Olivia’s body, flushing every fingerprint and any minute fluid of Smoke from her, and yet, still he sensed Smoke on her or inside her. How?

Chance shifted, running faster, striding longer. Where the hell had Olivia gone so fast? Then he heard her screams, terrified shrieks turning into horrifying growls, playful barks, and ending with a howl, a searching howl.

He found her clothing, torn in shreds, scattered along her path and looked upward. A full moon blinked back at him from the early morning sky. Olivia ran toward the moon, a full moon. Damn that rogue, somehow Olivia ingested his blood.

“Jasmine, Dir, I need you both out here now. Olivia shifted, she’s gone wolf.”

Jase kissed his little Blonde good-bye, his cock still rock hard after two hours of lustful play with her. He’d gotten not one wink of sleep, but sex always had a way of recharging him. He was ready for hunting Lindsey and the Alpha again. Jase jumped in the shower, dressed, and then headed for Trevor’s room.

He knocked, but no answer. The door wasn’t locked, so he walked in, and Trevor wasn’t there. Jase checked outside, and saw the truck still in the same place they’d parked it. He raised his head, sniffing the air and picked up Trevor’s scent. Jase, sensing something out of place, ran to the truck and grabbed out one of the wolf collars with a tracking device. He buckled it around his neck, and then followed Trevor’s scent around the back of the building and into the wooded area behind. He found Trevor’s clothes piled near a tree trunk.
