“She’s a beautiful person, inside and out, and I think that’s one of the reasons why this character came so easily to her,” Gavin said. “Megan has such compassion for people, she’s always trying to see things from other perspectives. You’ll be seeing her in a lot more roles, that’s for sure.”

“Sounds like you know Megan quite well,” Joanne said. “So Gavin, you recently said you were single and looking. Have you found any lucky ladies to share your time with?”

I felt my heart sink. I knew there was going to be only one answer, and I knew there was nothing I could do about it but remind myself that it was just for show. Gavin would tell her that he’s single and looking, giving his fans everywhere hope of being with him someday, just because his manager wanted to help boost the box office numbers.

“Well,” Gavin started. I could hear the hesitation in his voice. “The truth is, I lied about being single.”

Joanne looked shocked. I did a double take to try to make sure I had heard his words correctly.

“Oh?” she asked. “So there is someone in your life?”

“There’s someone who I wouldn’t want my life to be without. Someone who I’m in love with, and have been for a while now.”

My ears were anxious for what he would say next.

“Who is it?” Joanne asked, seeming to be almost as anxious to hear the name as I was.

“It’s Megan,” Gavin said. He put his arm around my waist and pulled me close to him, gazing ardently into my eyes. “I’ve been in love with her since the day I met her. I plan to spend the rest of my life with her, if she’ll let me.”

My heart leapt, and I could feel my smile beaming as I nodded my head.
