“We’ll see baby. Can you go in the house and bug your granny right quick. Let me talk to Auntie…”

“Nooo daddy. Didn’t you just say she my momma?”

“Girl get yo’ little butt in the house.” I laughed, watching as they disappeared.

When they were out of sight, I pulled Milan into my arms. “So what you gone do? I’m not asking you no more. Are we gone do this? You know damn well that Jabari ain’t where yo’ heart at. I got you baby, just let me in man. You know I love you and those babies. You got a nigga begging and that’s not even me.”

Milan nodded her head yes. “I want us. But Jabari is not going to let us. He’s talking about doing some  crazy stuff to you, and I’m scared because I don’t want to see neither of y’all get hurt.”

Some crazy shit? My eyebrows furrowed. I wondered what the fuck Milan was talking about. This was only further confirmation that I had to kill that nigga!

Milan

Melanie and the kids ended up staying at my mother’s house because she wanted to bond with her granddaughter. I didn’t mind because it gave Wise and I time to sort things out. I rode back to his house with him and we were now chilling in his living room.

Jabari had been blowing up my phone and I knew that I had to answer his call. I let out a breath of air as I pressed talk. “What Jabari?” I answered.

“Where the fuck are you at with my kids?” Jabari’s voice blasted through my speaker. I pulled the phone away from my ear because he was so loud. I knew that he was going to be pissed, and that he wasn’t going to take me leaving him too lightly. However, I couldn’t keep subjecting myself to the drama that being with him brought. He was destroying me, and he had turned me into someone that I didn’t recognize.

“I’m leaving you, Jabari. I can’t do this anymore.” I blurted out, getting it over with. Wise was sitting across from me on the couch, pretending to watch the game. He wasn’t fooling nobody, though. He was listening to our conversation.

“You can’t do what? I know you ain’t tripping off that girl and that baby. I don’t want her ass, Milan. I fucked up. I thought we said this shit was forever.”

I let out a sigh. He always seemed to think that his “I’m sorry” excused all of the fucked up things that he did to me. “No, Jabari. You’re ‘I’m sorry’ is a little too late. I can’t do it.”

There was a long pause before he finally spoke again. “Alright, well are you gone at least help me do that? We both will be set for a minute.”

I couldn’t believe that he was still asking me to set Wise up. “No! I’m not doing that shit! Will you please leave that alone? We have kids to think about, Jabari. And what did Wise ever do to you?”

Wise stood up when I mentioned his name, and I pleaded with my eyes for him not to say anything.

“FUCK THAT NIGGA!” Jabari boomed. “Why the fuck you always trying to take up for him? Are you fucking him?”

“No I’m not Ja…”

“Fuck it, just bring my kids to see me. Can I at least see my kids.” He cut me off.

With the new side that Jabari was showing me, I was scared to bring my kids around him. He needed to calm door and get his mind right. His crazy ass would probably try to hurt all three of us.

“I’ll try to get them to you but,”

“Man, why the fuck you pacifying that man.” Wise boomed, coming toward me. He snatched the phone from my hands and pressed it to his ear. “Hell nah you can’t see these kids. And if you want to start a fucking war, nigga I hope you ready.” With that, Wise hung up, throwing my phone on the couch.

He looked at me. “I hope you ready for what’s about to happen, Milan. That nigga working off desperation, so he ain’t thinking right. It’s either me or him, and it for damn sure ain’t gone be me!”

I looked at the chipped paint on my nails, and began to cry. I hated the both of them for making me have to choose.

“Man, come here.” Wise demanded, staring at me with those coal black eyes. I just sat there, not wanting to move. This whole situation was crazy. “I said bring yo’ ass over here, Milan.” His voice was more stern, causing me to reluctantly peel myself from where I sat and make my way over to where he stood.

He gripped me up in his arms when I got close enough, and pulled my chin up to face him. “I love you, Milan. I never stopped loving you, and believe me, I tried. I would never want to put you in a fucked up situation, but that nigga made it this way.”

I nodded, “I love you too, Wise. I just wish that, for the kid’s sake, this could be resolved without anyone getting hurt. My kids adore their father just as much as Melanie loves you.”

His eyes softened, and he looked away, as if he was contemplating something. His arms around me were so comforting. I felt at home again. “Damn, Milan. Put yourself in my shoes though.”

“I know, I mean, I just wish that you guys could talk or maybe Keem could talk some sense into him. He just wants money…” My voice trailed off, knowing that I was only fooling myself. It was more than money, and now that Jabari knew that I was with Wise, things were about to get really ugly.

“So you basically asking me to pay that man for disrespecting me? Come on Milan. I know you not that green. It ain’t gone happen smoothly unless one of us get out the way.”

I nodded again. “Well, I don’t want to talk about that anymore.”

“And I don’t either.” He smirked leaning in and nestling his nose in the crook of my neck. “I’ve been waiting for a long time to have you to myself again. I’ll be damned if I lose you this time.”

His lips dusted across my skin, causing me to moan. Everywhere he touched left a trail of small fires, and my nipples poked out with awareness.

“Can I have you, Milan?” He asked, but I think it was more of a rhetorical question because he had already began to unbutton my pants. I stood there, bracing myself for Wise’s loving. Shit, my mouth was watering, I was so ready for him.

My phone began to ring, temporarily interrupting us. “Fuck that phone Milan.” He roared, his voice full of lust.

I tried to ignore it, but it kept ringing back to back. I let out a sigh. “Maybe I should get that Wise.” I told him breathlessly.

“Damn, man!” He cursed, releasing me from his hold.

I walked back to the couch, grabbing my phone. It was my mother calling. My brows furrowed as I answered.

“Hello?”

“Milan!! Jabari’s crazy ass here trying to take these kids… No Jabari, come over here babies… Aww shit, he done got the kids.” My mother was yelling frantically into the phone and my heart dropped! How did Jabari get my kids, and why was he playing with me? I hopped off of Wise’s lap and we were out of his house in time.

Chapter Eleven

Jabari

I knew that Milan was going to be blowing my phone up after I picked up my kids. These my ma'fucking kids. I didn't know what she was thinking! She was treating me like some peon… like she forgot who the fuck I was. She may have thought I was down bad, but I was still that nigga that got shit done.

Then she had that punk ass nigga get on the phone. I started to snatch up his daughter too and see how much shit he would be talking then, but I had other plans for his punk ass.

I looked at my phone and turned it completely off, as I pulled into Jamella's driveway.

"Unt uhh, Jabari. I know that you didn't have me rush all the way over to yo' house just so you could pick up yo' kids. Where ya' baby momma at? She gone flip the fuck out." She complained, looking into the backseat at the kids. I didn't want to bring them to her dirty ass house, but she was the only option that I had until I made my move, which would be soon. Milan and Wise had me fucked up. Now they wasn't getting the kids until
I
said so.

"Man stop complaining! I told her ass that our kids needed to bond. I'm not fucking with her no more and the kids need to get used to you 'cause you gone be around." I lied smoothly, stroking her ego.

Her face lit up. "Really, Jabari? You leaving her for me and Janarius, finally?" She was all happy and she just didn't know, once I got my shit together, I was dropping her ass with the quickness. A bitch like Jamella could never keep me satisfied. She was lucky that I slipped up and popped my seed in her.

"Yeah, you the only broad that got a nigga back for real."
I fed her some more bullshit, as we made it into the house. I needed her on board to keep these kids until I figured out what I wanted to do. I know for damn sure, Wise and Milan weren't about to sit up and play house with my fuckin' kids.

"Yep, I'm all yours," I smiled, pulling her to me. I kissed her lips. "You gone hold a nigga down?" I asked, staring into her eyes.

She nodded her head yes.

"That's what I want to hear. Now, I need you to keep the kids while I go get some of my shit together and bring it here. Is that cool?”

"You're moving in too?" She squealed with a grin a mile wide.

"Yep, I just need your car right quick to hit a few corners. Then I'm all yours."

"Whatever you want, baby. Hurry back," She cooed as I headed for the door. That's why I couldn't fuck with her ditzy ass. She was dumb as a box of rocks!

I met Jamella at the strip club about a year before I got locked up. She walked into that ma’fucka like she owned it. I mean her hair was on point, her outfit screamed that bitch, and her body had a nigga damn near drooling. There was a room full of naked bitches, but she was the shit.

She wasn’t a dancer. She was there with her girls. They had a little booth across from mine. We kept giving each other the eye and eventually I said fuck it and approached her. It took less than ten words to get her in the bathroom and her lips around my dick. Then and there I knew the bitch was a runner… just fine for no reason at all.

Her head game was A1 so I kept her around. Plus, other than Milan, she was the only broad that semi-tried to hold me down when I got locked up. So I kept fucking with her. A baby wasn’t part of the deal though. I shook my head as I headed out the door.

When I made it to the car, and pulled off, I turned my phone back on and called Milan. She answered on the first ring.

"Oh my God, Jabari. Why did you take my kids? When are you bringing them back?" She sounded all panicked, like she wasn’t talking mad shit just two hours ago.

I had to laugh at her ass."You got a lot of ma'fucking nerve. Come take 'em back!" With that, I hung up on her ass. What was she gone do, call the police and tell them that I kidnapped my own kids?

I pushed Milan to the back of my mind, pulling up to the crib. Milan had fucked up most of my clothes and I needed a place to stay now that I was done with that bitch. So I went to my safe that I kept stashed in the basement and cleared it out, then I headed to the room and grabbed the few pieces that she didn’t fuck up.

I swear, I was getting angrier by the minute. I actually loved Milan. She was my heart. I didn’t mean to be fucked up, but that shit was just in me. I was going to get it right for her ass one day. I was going to be that nigga she needed like back in the day. But, her snake ass fucked it up, and I hoped she didn’t think that I was going to just let her ride out into the sunset with that nigga Wise. I’d kill her first.

Chapter Twelve

Wise

I did a hundred on the dash, all the way to Milan’s mother’s house. All I could think about was Melanie. If Jabari hurt my kid, I didn’t know exactly what I would do. All I knew was that the beast would come out of me. It had been a minute since I had to get dirty, and since I was maturing, and ready to settle down and do the family thing, I was trying to leave that beefing shit in my past. But, Jabari was going to get what he was asking for.

“So what did he say?” I asked Milan, looking over at the crazy expression on her face. I knew that shit was going to get real, but I didn’t mean for her kids to get involved with the bullshit.

She was looking mad as hell. “He said for me to come take the kids. Now he done pissed me off. I understand that he’s mad, but what kind of person plays with people’s kids? I mean, he probably can’t even afford to buy them dinner!” She was now starting to yell. I wanted her to get mad. I wanted her to bring out her beast, so that she could turn her feelings off and see what needs to be done.

“Did he get Melanie too?” I asked the million dollar question. I held my breath, waiting for her answer.

“I don’t know. He hung up the damn phone! I swear, I’m going to kill that motherfucka myself. I don’t even care anymore.”

I just nodded as we pulled up to Mrs. Smith’s house. As soon as we hit the driveway, Melanie came running out of the door. I hopped out and grabbed her, letting out a sigh of relief.

“Ooooh daddy! The kids’ daddy came over here and took them. He was being mean to my grandma and everything.”

I looked into her face as she spoke. “And what did you do?”

She smacked her lips. “I ran and hided. I wasn’t about to go with him. I don’t know what you thought.” She was so animated. Her little ass was a trip. It pissed me off even more that she had to go through that.

She looked at Milan. “I’m sorry aun-, I mean momma. I wanted to help them but he was tripping.”

Milan forced on a smile, but I knew that she was worried. “It’s okay baby. I’m just glad that you’re okay.” Then she focused on me. “I’m about to call dumb-ass back and see what’s going on. I might ride by the house to see if he’s there.”

I shook my head. “Naw, you ain’t about to go around his punk ass by yourself.”

“Jabari wouldn’t hurt me. I’ll be ok.” She pressed the phone to her ear, and began to talk. I just stood there, listening to her conversation. I swear that I was murdering that nigga!

Milan looked relieved when she hung up. “He wants me to meet him at the house. Hopefully he will be there with my kids and I will be able to get them and get the hell away from his crazy ass!” She said, walking towards her car. She was so in a rush that she wasn’t even thinking straight. Something wasn’t right. Jabari’s punk ass wasn’t just going to hand those kids over that easily. That’s why I went into the house and asked Mrs. Smith to keep Melanie for a few more hours, then I headed to Milan’s house.
