If I wasn’t turned on before, the sight of Matt’s full, beautiful lips wrapped around Jim’s big cock did it. He gave head like he kissed, I’d bet—with a kind of spine-melting intensity that had even stoic Jim groaning and thrusting, and curling his fingers into Matt’s hair.

“Fuck, Matt. I’m gonna—Ungh!”

He tried to pull out, but Matt clenched his fingers into his butt and held him in place, swallowing down Jim’s cum and staring up at his face. I tore my gaze from the seductive slant of Matt’s chin and jaw to Jim’s face, his eyes shining as he looked down at Matt, and my heart stuttered to a stop.

They were in love. In that moment, it was so obvious I couldn’t believe I’d ever thought it was anything less.

Struggling to breathe around the realisation, I slowly hobbled to my feet, edging towards the bathroom, trying to give them belated privacy.

Jim’s voice rumbled through the room, up through the soles of my feet, and made my skin tingle. “Where the fuck do you think you’re going?”

“I—” I dropped my hands down in front of my hard-on and shuffled a few more limping steps.

“Sit down, T.” Matt was licking his lips and taking Jim’s hand to ease to his feet, hopping slightly on his good foot, to alleviate the pressure on the knee Luke’s bruisers had twisted.

“I don’t want to…”

“To what?” Matt’s eyes sparked as he met my gaze. “Come between us?” he smiled a sharp, sly smile. “We’ve been searching for just the right person to fit between us for a while now.”

“You…have?”

“Jim and I—” He paused. “It’s a strange bond.”

I frowned. “It’s love. You don’t look at each other like that and not know…”

“Sure.” He gave me one of those one-shouldered shrugs. “I love him. He’ll never say it out loud, but he loves me. I told you, I do all right.”

“Then why did you send me here? I don’t understand.”

“He likes someone to be here all the time,” Matt explained.

Jim grunted, and I shifted my attention to him. “Matt’s got a life. He likes what he does.” Jim gave him a little glare. “He doesn’t want a live-in lover.”

“Do you always speak for each other?”

They both shrugged at me.

“No one is asking you to stay, T. You do, or you don’t, it’s your choice.” Matt moved a little closer. “I thought, maybe we could help you. Maybe you could help us.”

“Help you? How?”

Neither of them answered for a long, long minute. I thought about my encounter with both of them, their acts with each other, and the light bulb went on. “You don’t fuck each other. You need—”

“Sordid, isn’t it?” Matt asked, trying valiantly, but failing utterly, to keep the grin out of his voice.

“We don’t
need
anything,” Jim corrected. He, too, took a couple of steps closer. “We do fine as things are.” His eyes flickered, and his fingers flexed lightly. He was attempting not to close up, not to snap his shell up tight.

“But you get tired of random ass when you can get it,” I guessed. “And you just don’t quite care enough to do that for each other?” That was the part that confused me. If they loved each other, couldn’t they? Once in a while?

“Jim does.” Matt delicately shrugged off Jim’s glare. “I—can’t.” The tight, pinched tone of his voice said there was a big ‘Something’ behind that one word. I didn’t press. I had a pretty good idea what the something might be and didn’t feel the need to know the details. His arms had wrapped around himself, and he moved a few paces closer to Jim, who enclosed him in a tight bear hug.

“Sorry. Matt—”

He shook his head. “Believe me, I tried. I wanted to.” He glanced over his shoulder at Jim, and still, even inside that close embrace, Jim’s warm, dark gaze holding him even closer, he shivered.

I nodded. “Okay.”

“Okay?” Matt’s eyes brightened again, and my insides did an odd flip at seeing the darkness pass.

“I mean…we’ll see. Both of you…” I swallowed, trying to ignore the delighted shivers sliding over my skin. “I do need to ride horses for a living.”

Jim let out a big, rolling laugh that slammed into me like a wall of endorphins, and I found myself grinning stupidly.

You have so landed in the shit, my friend.

For once, I had to agree with my inner voices. I was in deep, and whether I ever sat in a saddle again, I was certainly well on my way to putting Luke Driscoll and everything he had done behind me.

Chapter Eleven

Much to my frustration, they let me sit through a new raft of bacon, eggs, toast, and coffee with an aching hard-on. I could not focus on getting fork to mouth, and in the end, drank a bit of juice and managed half a piece of toast.

My plight amused them to no end, then they heaped insult to the injury be insisting the dishes be washed up before anything else happened. I offered to wash, just wanting the job done.

“Perhaps a naked maid,” Matt mused.

“Fuck off and pick up a towel.”

“I don’t have any intention of fucking anything but you, darlin’,” Matt assured me, ignoring my order and standing close enough behind me I could feel his cock flirting with my ass.

I moaned, in spite of my resolve not to show the effect their cockiness was having on me.

Matt chuckled, slid his hands up under my shirt and proceeded to play with my nipples, rubbing, pinching, and finally, twisting so that I jerked and gasped, and he whispered happy praise in my ear while he did it all. By the time he was done with me, the dishes were forgotten, though I still had my hands
dangling
in the soapy dishwater, and my sleeves had slipped down to wick moisture up to my elbows.

“Well. That will never do, will it?” Matt asked, removing his hands from underneath so he could unbutton the shirt and slip it off my shoulders.

I clamped my lips shut, determined not to make a sound, though I did remove my arms, one at a time, from the sodden sleeves. It brought my attention back to my task, though, and I went back to scrubbing plates.

“Halfway there,” Jim rumbled from his seat at the table.

“I’m working on it,” Matt assured him.

“You both suck.”

“Careful,” Matt warned, a tease in his voice, “or we just might start there.” He lifted a hand to touch my lips, and I couldn’t help it. I moaned, just a little, and let him slip a finger between my lips. He didn’t have to tell me suck.

Comes second nature, now.

Possibly it did, but his whispered pleasure, caressing my ear as he withdrew the finger to slip his hand into the back of my pants, sent a slide of goose bumps over me. With his one arm wrapped around the top of my chest, and his hand prying between my ass cheeks, it was impossible not to make some noise.

Behind us, Jim’s chair screed across the floor. I glanced over to find his eyes on me, dark, full of lust and desire. “You’re going to have to take those joggers off, T. Now.”

Fuck me.

Was I that easy a mark? Or just easy? I obliged him, lifting them over the bandages and letting them fall to the floor, giving him a clear view as Matt’s finger found its mark and pushed home.

“Ahhh…”

“Fuck, I love that sound.” Matt buried his face against me neck and nuzzled. His fingers griped my shoulder, holding me against his chest, bracing me, as he pushed another finger into me.

I gave up. He was too good. Knowing Jim was watching us was too much. I rocked into his hand. “More, please, Matt,” I whispered, trying not to sound like I was begging.

“All in good time.”

He’d only had me once, but apparently he had a really good memory. He knew exactly how to play with me to keep me on the edge without sending me over.

“Please. This is torture!” I shook suds and water around the kitchen and reached for my aching cock. He could play with my ass all he wanted. I’d let him fuck me once, and he knew what he was doing, but I needed to get off now, before I exploded.

It was Jim, strong, implacable, who caught my wrist and pulled my hand away, not allowing me to relieve myself.

Behind me, Matt began to shake. His fingers stopped moving, going lax inside my body, and I tried to turn, to see what was wrong.

“Easy, babe.” Jim was standing behind him, but now he moved, turning us both so that I was no longer pinned against the sink, but facing him, and he could look into Matt’s eyes. “Just me.” He caressed Matt’s face, leaned past me to kiss him, and a gentle, relieved sigh left Matt. He sagged against me, and I reached around to hold onto him.

Pinioned between the two of them, it hit home at last. This wasn’t a game. It wasn’t me singing for my supper. I was vulnerable enough, Jim could look after me like Matt wouldn’t allow him to do, and strong enough Matt could dominate me, as Jim could not allow. I was their missing piece. They were the family I’d never had.

I sighed softly and they both moved away some.

“Taylor?” Jim cupped my chin, lifting my head to peer into my eyes. “Bed?”

I nodded. Matt slipped his fingers free and took my hand as we moved off to Jim’s bedroom. Jim followed, his hand on my shoulder. I might have felt like a lamb, being led to slaughter, except neither of them was guiding me, so much as going where I went.

I lay down on my side on the bed and Matt sat cross-legged in front of me, while Jim perched on the edge of the bed behind me.

“We’re taking the bandages off now,” Jim informed me.

Matt got up, fetched a cloth and the trash can. Jim peeled back the bandages, and at long last, I made myself look at the scars.

They were unrecognisable as a brand. Just a lot of ugly, puckered skin. I ran my finger tips over the mess. The skin tingled under my touch in an unpleasant, sickening kind of way. I shuddered.

Matt curled his fingers around the back of my head and kissed my forehead. “Don’t. It isn’t anything. Just a bad memory.”

Like yours is a bad memory?

I wanted to say it, but I held my tongue. He wanted me to feel better about it. I wanted to feel better about it, but right now, it was an ugly, painful blight. I wanted his touch, Jim’s kisses—I wanted them both to just hold onto me and not to think about it for now.

“I thought you were going to fuck me,” I said, trying and failing to keep my voice steady.

“No.” Jim leant down, big hand on my shoulder and rolled me onto my back. “Make love, maybe. If you want.”

I nodded. “Please?”

“You’re just adorable when you beg,” Matt teased, though his fingers riding along my jaw were tender, and his eyes glowed. “Who do you want first?”

“Wha—?”

Of course he’d do that. Make you choose.

Matt chuckled, his hand that wasn’t caressing my cheek running down my middle and grazing over my cock. “Open up, T. I’m going to get you all ready for Jim.” He glanced up at the big rancher, licked his lips, and smiled. “He’s going to be gentle this time.”

Jim grunted, and I turned to look at him. “I don’t mind.”

Jim’s hand cupped the side of my head, his fingers burrowing into my hair. “You like a little rough.” He leaned close, his lips brushing my ear. “Just a little though.”

I nodded, and wiggled my legs apart as Matt’s hand slithered between them.
