“It’s great, really good. I haven’t eaten all day.” I swirl the pasta. He is just watches me and picks lightly at his.

“I hope that’s not a habit for you. You should eat, especially if you drink.” He watches me drink the entire glass of wine and he waves the man over to fill it again.

“I’m sorry. I probably should sip the wine and not gulp. I told you, I am not prim and proper.”

“Drink out of the bottle if you have to. I like to see you relax.” He smiles.

“Don’t tempt me.” I laugh. I am seeing a very different side of Silver. The arrogant man from before seems to be fading.
I like this side.

“So how was work today?” I raise my eyebrows at his question.

“I left, not that I should be bragging about that when I’m with the CEO of
Silver Coffee.

“Did Jeff do something?” His smile went to a frown and his voice changes. He was sincerely asking and concerned.

“No, but I did meet his fiancée.”

“His fiancée?” Silver was stunned.
“Are you kidding?”

“No, I wish I was. He’s been seeing her for over six months and sleeping with me.” I’m honest with my response. He does not look happy.

“I don’t like that he hurt you,” he says straight faced while he looks me in the eyes.

“It’s ok. I’m a big boy. I can handle Jeff.” I finish my chicken. He’s in deep thought about something. “Silver, I’m serious. Don’t worry about Jeff. He’s just fucked up.”

“Fucked up or not, you don’t lead people on. I’m sorry he did that to you. Plus, not to mention it’s no way to run a business. He should have known that you would feel uncomfortable. That’s very unprofessional of him. Mixing business and pleasure is tricky trade. There are rule one must follow.”

“Do you follow those rules?”

“Always.” His words confuse me, but I like the excitement they bring. I clear my throat and continue.

“Like I said I’ll deal with Jeff, but thank you. It’s nice to have someone who cares.”

“I’m sure you have other people.” Silver nods to the man in the corner and he comes to clear the plates. He’s barely eaten his dinner.
The man returns with a small plate of miniature desserts and another glass of wine. Silver pushes the plate of desserts toward me. “Eat please, they’re delicious.”

“First you.” I place a small piece of the strawberry cheesecake on my fork and hold it over the table to his mouth. He smiles, leans over, and takes the cheesecake in his mouth.

“Mmmm―It’s even better coming from you.” His eyes say he wants more, but of what. He picks up his fork and scoops a small portion of a lemon dessert. He gets up and moves to the seat next to me and holds the fork to my mouth. “This one’s my favorite.” I seductively take it in my mouth.

“Mmmm that’s incredible. Mr. Silver, are you flirting with me?” He grins and leans toward me. My heart starts to race as he comes closer. He takes his thumb and rubs a piece of the lemon tart off the corner of my mouth and sucks it off his thumb.
Fuck that was hot.

“I’m not good at flirting, Mr. Black. I’m more of a go-get-him kind of man.” He cups my chin and kisses the corner of my mouth. He moves back to his seat.
No, no….Stay here. Do more.
Maybe it’s the four glasses of wine, but he is really starting to turn me on.

~Chapter Five~

He taps his knuckle on his lip as he watches my mouth devour the rest of the strawberry cheesecake. His stare is deep and examining. I can see contemplation in his eyes.  I flash a nervous smile at him then look to the glow of Manhattan over the terrace. “Do I make you nervous, Mr. Black?”
Yes.

“I feel like you’re studying me.”

“I am.”
Oh.
He sits with his legs crossed, relaxing his arm on the side of the chair. “You interest me. I like that.” He nods to the man in the corner and he leaves.
Maybe that’s my cue too.
I get up from my seat and move to the chair next to his. He watches every movement with an expressionless face or maybe he’s just hard to read.

“Why are you studying me?” I had to know.
His eyes are dark, desire filled. “Did I come here for a business dinner or did you have other plans for me?”

“I have lots of plans for you, Mr. Black: both professionally and personally.”
Personally? Now we’re talking.

“What happened to not mixing business with pleasure?”

“I think you misunderstood. I said Jeff didn’t know how to mix business and pleasure. I never said that I didn’t.” He takes my hand and pulls lightly; a cue to stand and come to him. I stand, as he insinuates, and he pulls me to his lap. “It’s obvious that I like you.” A current of heat runs through me as he traces my jawline with his bent finger and then dusts his thumb over my lips. “Mr. Black, you have no idea what power you have over me.”
Power? He holds the power.

“You don’t even know me.” My eyes close, my head rolls as he feels my neck with his hands.

He exhales lightly through his nose and grins. “I know you. I told you I’m a very good judge of character and I do my research.”

“Research?”
He’s been investigating me?

“Do you believe that everything happens by chance, Mr. Black?” He rubs his cheek against mine and inhales my scent.
Kiss me, damn it.

“I like to think that.” He presses his forehead against mine.
He is so erotic; fucking kiss me already.

“Chance is sometimes man-made.”
What’s that mean?
He grasps the side of my face and his lips suck my upper lip. My heart pounds as our lips finally make contact. He holds the base of my neck and his lips tenderly move over mine.
Even his kiss is intense.
I stand, and then straddle him in the chair returning my lips to his. His hands run under my shirt and up my back
. I love strong hands.
I part my lips as I gasp in his mouth and he takes full advantage as his tongue begins to navigate throughout.
Fuck.
Then he stops.
He stops
. His eyes lock with mine; he stands and clasps my hand and pulls me into the house.

“Where are we going?”

He smiles back at me. “To my bedroom, Mr. Black. We’ll go over the contract in the morning. I have other plans for you tonight.”
Hell, yes.
He leads me up the stairs then into his bedroom.

I look around. The large master bedroom is decorated in a rich modern décor. The king-sized bed is the focal point of the room. The bed frame is in a charming cherry finish and the blankets a rich burgundy. The room is lit by moonlight from the wall that is entirely paneled with windows and a sliding door that leads onto a terrace overlooking the city.

He says nothing as he goes into the bathroom that is off the room. I scan the city lights from the window as I wait for him to return to me. I’m ready for anything. I’m not thinking about Jeff tonight. Tonight, I’m only thinking about me. I hear the door open and he exits wearing a pair of loose gray lounge pants that hang perfectly off his hip bones and a white cotton T-shirt. His feet are bare and his eyes are drawn to mine. He looks so sexy as he walks over to me. I feel my cock swell. I need him to touch me. “It’s a beautiful view isn’t it?” He’s looking right at me when he says it. It is a beautiful view: New York and him.

He aligns his chest with my back and puts his nose in my neck. He inhales sharply sending chills down every part of me. “You’re scent is exhilarating.”
Ah, yes.
I turn and press my lips to his. He’s not as gentle this time; his tongue assaults my mouth harshly. He pushes me against the window, raises both my hands above my head, and pins them with one of his. I breathe rapidly as I wait for his next move. A devilish grin appears on his face. “Oh, Mr. Black do you know what you do to me?”
Hopefully turn you on.
He lets my hands go, turns, and walks to the desk in the room. He picks up his phone and starts to text someone.
What just happened?

“What are you doing?” I long for more.
Do more, Silver.

“I’m letting Connor know you won’t be returning home tonight. That you are staying with me.” He pushes send and places the phone back on the desk. He glances up at me as he takes a seat in the desk chair. “Come here, Mr. Black.” I stroll over to him and straddle around his waist. I immediately start to kiss him. I grip his hair tightly as I investigate the taste of his mouth with my tongue. He pants and digs his fingers into my back. I lift my head and look into his eyes. He has the most striking blue eyes I’ve ever seen; a welcome contrast to his short dark-brown hair.
“Do you want me, Mr. Black?”
Why do you think I’m here?

“Yes,” I whisper as I trace the line of his jaw until my mouth is once again on his.

“I don’t think you understand the question.” He smirks.
What’s not to understand? Yes, I want you badly, now fuck me.
“I’m a complicated man, Mr. Black, and I’m very selfish. So when you agree to
want me
. I expect it only to be me.”
Whoa, this just changed directions.

“Are you talking about sex?” I ask as I climb off of him.

“I have specific tastes and I don’t date often. It took a while to find you and I want you.
All
of you.”

“I don’t understand. You planned this?”

“Planned what?”
The club, the coffeehouse, this dinner…. Everything?

“Meeting me?”

“Yes.” He is honest.
“I saw you at the coffeehouse a few months ago and I had to know more about you.”
Months ago?

“So you couldn’t just come in and introduce yourself like a normal person?” My sarcastic words bring out a frown on his face.

“I told you, I have very specific taste. I look beyond appearance. I could already see how good your appearance was.” He cradles my back and runs his hands down my sides. “I wanted to know more. Who is Greyson Black?”
This is starting to sound a little creepy.
I feel a sense of fear come over me.

“I think I should leave.” I move quickly away from him. “Can you please ask Connor to take me home? I don’t feel comfortable right now.”

“Of course.” He picks his phone up and texts. “I’d never hurt you, Greyson.” He called me by my first name. “Quite the opposite; I want to help you. I’m not a stalker.”
Could have fooled me.
“Please, just talk to me.” He’s very sincere and very nervous all of a sudden knowing I was anxious.

“I’m going to be honest, Silver. It creeps me out. We don’t know each other and I thought it was just going to be sex, but now you’re talking all this stuff about seeing me months ago. I had a bad experience with a relationship and I don’t want that again.” My deepest fear is a repeat of my past. He moves closer and I back up.

“Oh God, you really are scared. I am so sorry.” He moves far away from me. “Uh, Connor is waiting for you. I’m sorry.” I nod and freeze. “Greyson, please know that I have your best interests at heart.”
Why do I believe you? I’m so confused.

“I like you, Silver. You’re a good man, from what I know, but we’ve only just met. Maybe I overreacted. I owe you an explanation.” I walk cautiously to his side. He hasn’t made eye contact with me since I moved away from him.

“You don’t owe me anything, Mr. Black.”
We’re back to Mr. Black now?
“I’m sorry I tried to be seductive and explain why I want you and I never imagined it would sound creepy. It was creepy and completely inappropriate. I’m sorry. It’s who I am. It’s what I do.”  I stand tall in front of him. His eyes are peering at my feet. I grab both his hands and he looks up.

“My, uh…a guy stalked and followed me my first year in college. It was a bad situation. It didn’t end well. I don’t want to go into detail because frankly it’s taken me a long time to not let it run or ruin my life. I don’t want to repeat any of that.”

“I’m not the type of man for you. I’m very possessive especially when it comes to people I care about.” At least he’s honest.
How can he care for me when he’s just met me?

“How so?” I lift his chin with my finger. “Tell me what you mean.”

“I asked you if you wanted me. I already know I want you. You’ve just met me and I feel like I already know you, that draws from my own insecurities. I’m sorry.”
Silver’s insecure?
“The question was do you want
me
? All of me, like I want all of you. I could have easily had your body tonight. You were willing.”
I was; still am a little to be honest.
“I
want
this and this.” He puts one hand to my head and another to my chest. “But they belong to someone else right now.”
Jeff.
“I’m selfish, Mr. Black. I don’t want other people getting some parts of you while I get the remainder. I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t come first.” He looks into my eyes. I can see my soul through his.
He’s broken too.
“I’m not a patient man, but I will wait for you. I just want a chance to get to know you and you me.”

“What if I never…”

He gets a smug smile on his face. “You will.”

“You’re awfully confident.”
God, his cocky grin is so sexy.
“Were you going to convince me tonight?” I nod my head toward the bed.

“I was not going to have sex with you tonight.” My eyes widen from confusion. “I told you I’m bad at flirting.” I couldn’t help it I start to laugh.
He’s so cute.

“Why’d you bring me up here then?” He grins at me.

“I wanted to be close to you. I
want
you to sleep with me.”
Ok, make up your mind.

“But you said…”

He interrupts my words, “Sleep, Mr. Black. Of course I did like the window scene before. I like the attention from you. It’s been awhile. I see you aren’t ready for anything else
.”

I liked the window scene too.”

“I’m not rebound sex.”
Shit, never thought about it that way.
“I’d really like a chance to explain more about why I didn’t introduce myself to you right away. Maybe we can talk over dinner tomorrow when I show you the contract for the position. We can eat at the club.”

“There really is a position?” I had thought after all this, it was just a pick-up story.

“There really is indeed.” He smiles and sits on the side of the bed. “We can talk tomorrow after the creepiness of tonight fades.”

“It’s not so creepy anymore. I’d like to stay if you still want me to.” Something about him makes me feel comfortable. I know I reacted that way because of my emotional baggage. Even the anxiety I felt tonight was mild, nothing like before. Maybe it’s his persona or the fact that I’m lonely, but staying with him sounds nice. He’s so sure of our path, that it feeds my curiosity.

“It’s not a question of if I want you, Mr. Black.” He lies back on the bed and pulls the covers for me. I slip off my shoes and socks. I stand there nervously.

“What’s wrong?”

I start to laugh. “I don’t sleep in clothes.”

He grins and turns the other way. “I wouldn’t expect anything less from you, Mr. Black. Get in.”
Fuck,
I really like his dominant tone.

I pull off my shirt and my jeans, leaving them next to the bed. His bed is chilled and the blankets are a welcome warmth. “You never sent that text to Connor, did you?”

“No.”
Sneaky.
“He’s here all the time anyway, so if I couldn’t convince you to stay, he would have taken you home. You’re safe here, Mr. Black.” Weirdly, I do feel safe. He inhales and rolls toward me. He blankets my back with his body and wraps his arm around me. I felt him kiss the back of my head. “Is this ok?”

“Yeah,” I say. Then he clears his throat and I acknowledge my blunder. “
Yes,
Silver.” He kisses my head once more and holds me tight. I feel him let out an exasperated breath.

“Good night, Greyson.” And we’re back to Greyson
