A few episodes of my favorite reality show later, I heard a knock on my door. I was nervous to answer, but when I looked through the peephole I only saw Chris waiting on the other side. Honestly, I was a little disappointed at the view. I opened the door and let Chris into my room. He held out a small piece of paper with an address on it. “This is where Dominik will meet you. He was going to pick you up, but the paparazzi were all over him after the game and he didn’t want you to get caught up in that mess. I’d drive you there myself, but I have a lot of work to do. That interview you got me was great. I owe you one.” Chris left the room; I had hardly ever seen him looking so happy before. This interview must have been important.
I left my room and got back into Chris’ car. I nervously drove to the restaurant to meet Dominik. I wondered what a date with someone as rich and powerful as him would be like. The restaurant I pulled up to had valet parking. From here on I knew that the place must be fancy, and my suspicions were confirmed when I entered the building. There were red curtains on every window, white candles on each table, and a pianist playing in the corner. I had never seen a place so elegant in my whole life. I was glad that I went shopping before; nothing I had packed would have been classy enough to get into this place.
I saw Dominik in a dimly lit corner. I approached him and sat opposite of him in at a small table. He was wearing black slacks and a white dress shirt with a blue tie. Even though it was a simple outfit, it still looked great on him. The more I checked him out, the less nervous I was about the date. I had never seen someone so light-skinned look so good.
“I was afraid that you weren’t going to show up,” Dominik said, interrupting my thoughts.
“Why wouldn’t I show up?”
“I already gave your brother the interview. I figured you would forget about me and I would end up eating dinner here all alone.”
“I would never do that. The Douglas family always keeps their word. I promised you a date when you promised my brother an interview. There’s hardly a thing in the word that could have stopped me from showing up.”
Just then, a waiter showed up with the menus. We picked from the wine selection and chose our meals. While we were waiting for the food to come around we talked about our childhood. I told him all about growing up with Chris and putting myself through college. Dominik told me that his father came over to the states from Russia and married his mother shortly afterwards. He told me that they fell in love at first sight, and he also mentioned that he never really believed in that sort of thing. I couldn’t help but agree. He did mention, however, “I do believe in pure attraction at first sight.”
I couldn’t help but blush. “So, is that why you couldn’t help yourself from asking me out tonight?” I tried to flirt, playing with my hair as I talked.
“Something like that,” he replied. “I’ve learned that you don’t get something by sitting around and waiting for it. If you want something, you need to act on your desires to get it.” Dominik grabbed my hand and gave it a swift kiss. “In a way, I’m acting purely on my desires tonight.”
Dominik and I swapped stories and flirted with each other all throughout dinner. By the time the meal was over we were sitting considerably closer than we were when I got here and we were touching each other quite a bit. “How do you feel about continuing this date somewhere else?” Dominik asked. I was so busy thinking about all of the possibilities of what could happen next that I could only nod to answer. We went outside of the restaurant and got my car from the valet. Dominik offered to drive so that our next destination would be a surprise. It didn’t take us long to get there.
“Where are we?” I asked.
“We’re in the parking lot for my hotel. I’ve been watching the way that you move all night. If I know anything about body language, then I know that you want me as much as I want you right now. So, if you’re ready to take this farther we can head to my room right now.”
Dominik was right, I had been thinking about hooking up with him all night. “I’d love to,” I said.
Dominik got out of the car and opened my door for me. “Just so you know, I’m not really a relationship kind of guy.”
“Just so you know, I’m kind of on a break from dating,” I replied.
“Well,” he laughed. “You’re doing a terrible job at keeping the men away from you.” Dominik grabbed my hand and led me into the hotel. We got into an elevator and then got into his room. I was so nervous and excited that I could hardly say a thing, and I knew that things were only going to get better from here.
The hotel room was lavishly furnished. This hotel room looked like it would have been fit for a celebrity, and tonight I felt like one. Dominik closed the door behind us and put on the extra chain lock. I was never one to go home with a man on the first date, but Dominik was making it hard to resist him.
He started kissing me as soon as the door was fully shut. I felt all of my nervousness melt away with each kiss. He held me firmly as he walked me backwards to his bed. Once we got there, I kicked off my heels and I pushed him on the bed and then climbed on the bed. He sat up and I sat on his lap facing him and unbuttoned his shirt quickly; there was no need to play coy anymore.
Dominik was just as quick with me, putting his hands up the inside of my dress, slowly pulling it off. I would feel his hands lingering on my body as he did so, making me want him to get the dress off already. When he finally tore off my dress he turns his turn of pushing me down on the bed. I was flat on my back and he was kissing me all over. He started at my neck, slowly making his way down my body. I was covered in goosebumps by the time that he got down to my panties. He stopped there as if he was trying to tease me. Whatever he was trying to do, it was working.
He slowly made his way back up to my lips, and I couldn’t help but squirm with joy the whole time. When he finally got back to my mouth I couldn’t help but stick my tongue into his mouth. He still tasted like the wine that we had with dinner. I ran my hands through his long hair and down his back. I could feel his powerful muscles under my fingers, but I wanted to feel more. I ran my hands down his body, making my way down to his belt. I got it off of him and started to fumble with the button on his pants. I got it undone as easily as I had gotten his shirt buttons off.
It seemed like Dominik had noticed what I was doing. He grabbed my hand and moved it away from him. He unhooked my bra and took it off, slid off my panties, and pulled down his own pants. “Are you on the pill?” He asked. I was too excited to speak, so I only nodded. I hadn’t been this turned on in ages.
He was so close to me now that I felt like he was just trying to tease me. He was positioned between my legs, his face buried between my breasts, kissing me all over as he made his way up to my mouth. The only time my hands were tracing over his skin, making his hair rise as I did so. When his mouth met mine I lost myself in his lips again, but I couldn’t ignore the feeling that I was getting below either. He was so close to me. I was so hot and wet that he could enter in me in a second, so what was he waiting for?
“Ready for me?” he asked after nibbling my ear.
I wanted to say something sexy, but my mind was blank; I just wanted him so badly I felt like I was going to explode. “Yes,” I whispered, barely being able to talk.
With that, Dominik returned to my lips and slowly pushed himself inside of me. Each second he was in me was more satisfying than the last. I expect that a man as strong as him would be rough with me from the start, but every move he made seemed thought through and deliberate. There seemed to be a rhythm to how he moved in and out of me. I moved along with him, trying to speed him up. He got the hint and started to move faster and go deeper. Everything felt so perfect. I could feel him rubbing against me, hitting something that felt really good.
Without consciously thinking about it, I started to arch my back. I was shaking with pleasure. A moan or two escaped my mouth, still trapped under his. Seconds later, I came, but Dominik wasn’t done yet. Knowing that he had satisfied me, he moved faster, harder, and deeper inside of me. I couldn’t help but let out some noises, including fragmented syllables of his name. With one last thrust forward, I could feel him finish inside of me. He slowly made his way out of me and lay down beside me.
I gave him a few more kisses, softer than before and snuggled up next to him. I was so fatigued; the next thing I knew I was waking up in an empty room. A phone number scribbled on a piece of paper lay on the bedside table. I got dressed and put the paper in my bag. Even if I was still going to stick with the single life, I might just call his number again soon. I hadn’t had a night that great in a while, and I would love to repeat it.
It’s been about a month since I’ve last seen Dominik, but I still can’t forget the night we had together. Luckily, I got back to the hotel before Chris could notice my walk of shame. I had never told Chris what had happened when he asked me about the date. I told him that we had a nice dinner and looked about the city for a few hours. Chris had never really been the sort of guy to bother a person about their personal lives, which was ironic with him being a sports reporter and all, so he didn’t question me any further about the date.
Today was the day that Chris’ article about Dominik would be printed in the magazine that he worked for. He managed to sneak a copy for me since I had managed to land him the interview in the first place. The whole thing was really well written, unlike most of the rumor-like trash that the gossip magazines wrote. Seeing him in the picture made me want to talk to him again. I had been thinking about it ever since I had left his hotel room, but I didn’t want to seem clingy.
I needed to talk to him today, though. I had missed my period last week, and I never missed my period. At first, I didn’t think much of it. I mean, I was on the pill, so it was probably just a hormone thing. Then I remembered that I had forgotten to bring my pills to Chicago with me. I hadn’t taken my pill the night that I was with Dominik. I was extremely nervous for what this could mean. As soon as I did all of the math for what could be going on, I rushed to the nearest drug store and bought a simple pregnancy test...well, three pregnancy tests. After drinking a whole lot of water and taking each test they all said the same frightening thing, “Pregnant.”
At first, I wondered if there was a chance that it could have been D’Shawn’s kid, but the numbers just didn’t fit for that to work out. There was no doubt in my mind, I was pregnant with a famous hockey player’s baby, and I had no idea what to do next.
I searched frantically, trying to find the phone number that Dominik had left me in the hotel room. I looked all over the bag I had used that night, but it was nowhere to be found. Even though I didn’t have a concrete plan for what I was going to do with this baby, I still thought that Dominik had a right to know about it. Thinking back, Chris did say that he would owe me one helping him get the interview, and now I think I was going to take him up on that offer. I needed a way to reach Dominik, and I needed it as soon as possible.
I made my way to Chris’ office after work. I tried to act casual when I got there, but he was still able to figure out that something was up. I knew that there was no point in beating around the bush; the faster that I told Chris what I needed, the faster I would be able to talk to Dominik. “Hey, what’s up? You look...weird. Are you feeling alright?” Chris asked as I walked through the door.
“I’m alright,” I lied. “Do you remember how you said that you would owe me for getting you that interview with Dominik? Well, I kind of want to cash in on that.”
Chris looked a little disappointed to see that I had only come by to ask for a favor. “I guess I do owe you one. What do you want?”
“I was wondering if you could get me Dominik’s phone number. He gave it to me on our date, but I lost it.”
“Oh, so you want to see him again?” Chris seemed interested now. “I thought you were trying out the single life for a while.”
I thought about the potential child that Dominik and I would have together, “I’m thinking about changing my mind on that.”
“Well, I don’t know if you can land a famous celebrity. I mean, he’s not exactly the marrying type, but I can see what I can do. How about you relax for a little while, do you work stuff, and I’ll meet you for dinner, my treat.”
I figured that I could wait for one afternoon to contact Dominik, “sounds good, see you then.”
I met Chris at our favorite cafe around six. He joined me at the table, sat down, and said, “Let me get straight to the point: I have good news and I have bad news. The bad news is, I couldn’t find his number for the life in me. The good news is, his team is playing nearby this weekend, and I was able to score us a couple of tickets. I can bring you to the game and you can talk to him there, assuming that you didn’t entirely embarrass yourself on the date.” This was good enough news for me. I wouldn't be able to talk to him immediately, but I would be able to see him in person, which was probably better anyway.
I agreed to go to the game with him, but the thought of it made me more nervous every minute. I had no idea what I would say to Dominik when I saw him again. It wasn’t like I would just open up with, “Hey, I’m pregnant and it’s yours.” I had to ease him into it. I just hope that I had the courage to go through with it.
