If we’d been alone I would have waited until she
dropped the blanket before turning off the light, but she wasn’t so…Hell, I
wanted to get into the bed with her. But that wasn’t going to happen…today.
Hopefully soon…very, very soon.

“Thank you, Seth.” Nadia voiced softly.

I was about to say ‘no problem’ when Issy spoke.
“Seth?”

The light from the hallway bathed both of them in a
soft glow as they each stared at me; Issy with what looked like an expectant
expression, Nadia more intently making me very aware that I was nearly naked
except for my
very
tight fitting boxers. I hoped like hell I wasn’t
giving Issy early sexual education previews.

     “Yeah, honey?” I answered.

“Will you sleep in the other bed?”

Issy’s question had my eyes widening and I heard the
catch of Nadia’s breath as she turned her head toward Issy.

“Uhm…” I wasn’t sure what to say to this. Was this my
decision or Nadia’s?

“Issy, nothing else is going to happen.” Nadia told her
in reassurance.

“Yeah, Issy. Those guys are long gone.” I assured.

“I would just feel safer with both of you here.” Issy
countered.

Nadia looked back at me and then switched her gaze to
the wall. “Seth, would you mind?”

I found myself smiling and shaking my head at her uneasy
supplication. She was such a hard ass, but a marshmallow at the same time. “Let
me go grab something real quick, I’ll be right back.” It was going to be an
uneasy night for me sleeping ten feet from her.

Back in my room I snagged a pair of loose shorts and
tugged them on. I was going to wake with a hard-on tomorrow and I didn’t want
to be wagging it front of Issy. Heading back into the girls room I shut the
door and crawled into the other bed…the other bed that had Nadia’s scent all
over it from the few hours she’d slept in it tonight. Unable to help myself I
stuffed my face in the pillow and breathed deeply catching the faint citrus
smell she carried around with her.

It went straight to my dick.

“Seth, do you want the other blanket?” Nadia asked
huskily.

Was she as affected by this situation as me? “Yeah,
could you toss it over?”

The next second the other blanket hit the bed and I
bunched it over my lap. I wouldn’t need it for the warmth, just the coverage in
the morning.

     “Goodnight, Seth.” Issy whispered.

“Goodnight, Issy.” I returned. “Night, Nadia.”

     “
Spokoynoy nochi
, Seth.” She said softly. There
was a pause and then she spoke again. “And thank you again.”

     I smiled in the darkness.

Chapter Fifteen

NADIA

I woke up to Issy pushing up against me in her sleep.
She didn’t sleep with me often anymore but when she did she was a very restless
sleeper; especially when she was close to waking up.

Looking around groggily I spied the digital clock on
the table next to me. It read eight-twenty in the morning. It wasn’t early by
my standards, but after the rough night we’d had eight-twenty felt like five
o’clock.

My gaze drifted settling on the bed next to us. And the
man in it. Seth was sprawled out on his back, the blanket down around his waist
leaving his broad chest bare except for the light spattering of dark hair over
his pectorals. One leg also stuck out from the covers revealing a heavily
muscled dark calf.

To say that the man was oversized wasn’t quite hitting
the mark. He was muscle on top of muscle. The blanket covered his essentials,
but from what I’d felt last night he was extra large there as well.

That thought had my mind wandering to what we’d done,
and how I’d gone completely
vamp
on him. I don’t know what had come over
me, but I’d almost climbed the man last night trying to get off on him. It was
beyond mortifying. And if that wasn’t bad enough Nic had witnessed it.

I’d done my best to keep the emotional deluge contained,
but I’m certain Seth had discerned some of it. I had been too stunned by the
entire thing to maintain complete stoicism.

One small taste was all I’d wanted. Instead I’d almost
swallowed him whole. My body tingled and burned just thinking about it.

Lying on my side ogling him I couldn’t help
appreciating how perfect he looked. Not just his body, but his features too. Seth
wasn’t pretty, he was ruggedly honed. He had a hard quality about his face that
spoke to me more than any pretty face could.

However, in sleeping repose some of that harshness
softened and he had an almost boyish cast to his visage. That is until he
frowned suddenly and snorted, shifting in his sleep restlessly.

I had to slap a hand over my mouth to stop the laugh
from escaping. The guy was brooding and serious a lot of the time and it seemed
to follow him into sleep as well. Some people might find his somberness off
putting, but I just found it kind of charming…as did Issy and Luka.

Seth had been great with her last night. The incident
with those men could have left a profound mark on her, but Seth had made it
into something to laugh about. Toward the end Issy had started to perceive it
as a middle of the night blunder which I was grateful for.

As for myself, I think that’s what it had started out
as, but I had my doubts about how it could have ended. I’d heard some things I
really hadn’t liked when I’d suddenly woken to them staring down at me. I can’t
be certain because the conversation had been kind of cryptic and I’d been nearly
staggered dumb at their presence, but I think that guy, Kris, Landon’s brother,
had been saying something about drugging some girl to have sex with her. Then
they’d made some comments about having some fun with me and the possible female
in the second bed. At hearing that I’d gone ballistic on them.

That had been a ten year girl they’d been referring to
radi
Boga
(for God’s sake)! Sure, they hadn’t known that, but the entire thing
had been a thousand times atrocious on a scale of a hundred.

“Nadia.” Issy whispered from behind me.

I turned my head to look at her. “Yes.” I whispered
back.

“Can we get up, or are we waiting for Seth to wake up?”
She stared at me curiously.

Great. I got caught in my ogling by my sister. “No, we
don’t have to wait. But let’s be very quiet so we don’t wake him.”

Issy and I crawled from the bed and headed for the
bathroom grabbing some clothes on the way. I dressed in tan shorts and a light blue
oversized-short sleeved shirt that fell off one shoulder revealing the strings
of my bikini top underneath. Gathering my hair up in a messy top knot we
brushed our teeth, washed our faces, and tiptoed out of the room.

Walking out the door I gave Seth’s half naked body one
last greedy look before shutting the door behind me. Issy and I then made our
way silently down to the kitchen. No one appeared to be awake yet.

“Should we see what they have to make breakfast; give
them a thank you meal for inviting us?” I grinned at Issy examining the
refrigerator and cupboards. Minutes later I had pulled out three cartoons of
eggs, two loaves of French bread, some ground sausage, a green pepper, and two
large potatoes.

Issy and I were cooking up some French toast and a
scrambled eggs medley when Landon walked in looking like the living dead. His
eyes were blood shot with dark shadows under them and his hair was freaky wild.

Without saying a word he walked directly over to the
coffee maker that I’d started before beginning breakfast. I wasn’t much of a
coffee drinker, but I knew others probably would be.

I watched him carefully as I continued to slap the food
together. “Did you not get back to sleep last night?”

“Not really.” He grumbled taking down a cup and pouring
in some coffee.

“Fighting with your brother?” I inquired wondering if
the two
dolboeb’s
(fuckhead’s) were still in the house.

Landon’s weary eyes met mine. “We put them in a cab
last night and sent them to a hotel. I’m sorry as sh…”His gaze flashed to Issy
who was intently mixing the sausage. “I’m really sorry about what happened last
night. My brother’s an a…” He sighed looking like he was reigning in his temper
and language. “He wasn’t supposed to be here. Normally we try our best to steer
clear of each other.”

It sounded like the two brothers’ weren’t on the best
of terms outside that incident last night. I stared at him with a frown
wondering if I should spill what I heard last night. It didn’t take me long to
decide that…yes, I needed to tell him. If there was one thing I hated it was a
predator, and Landon’s brother had it written all over him. I just wasn’t sure
how to disclose it. No matter how on the outs the brother’s were this was some
appalling news.

My thoughts were momentarily diverted by the arrival of
Nic and Carrie.

“Oh, Nadia, you’re making breakfast.” Carrie exclaimed
disentangling herself from Nic’s arms. I noticed he always seemed to be touching
her. “Can I do something?”

This would actually be a perfect time for me to talk to
Landon. “Could you watch Issy and maybe take over the French toast for me. I
need to talk to Landon privately for a moment?”

Nic stepped forward holding out his hand for the
spatula giving us both an inquisitive look. “I can do the French toast.”

“Thank” I smiled. “Issy, you keep stirring that
sausage, I’m just going to be outside those glass doors talking to Landon for a
minute.” I jerked my head for Landon to follow me. He gave me a confused frown
but followed me.

I turned to him once the doors closed behind us. “Landon,
your brother was saying some pretty nasty things last night.” This was going to
be a band-aide moment.

Landon leaned his shoulder against the glass window wearing
both a contemptuous sneer and remorseful expression. “I’m not surprised and I
am extremely sorry about…”

I shook my head and raised my hand for him to stop. “I
believe you, Landon. You’re a bit of an ass and are somewhat full of yourself,
but under it all I see a good guy.”

He raised his eyebrow at me in weary amusement.
“Thanks…I think.”

Taking a deep breath I rushed forward. “Thinking I was
asleep your brother said something about drugging some girl to have sex with
her.”

Landon straightened with a confounded frown. “What?”

I sighed. “When your brother was in the room last night
he was talking with that other guy about drugging some girl to have sex with
her. This was right before he made some remarks about having fun with me.” And my sister.

Landon continued to stare at me in a confused sort of
daze. I had a feeling it was his lack of sleep and the news that were causing
it. “
My
brother…was talking about drugging some girl…to have sex with
her…in your room last night?” He asked. It was like he was trying to process
what I was saying.

I nodded in sympathy. “I don’t know if there’s anything
that can be done for this girl. But I don’t like the idea of him thinking it’s
alright and doing it again.” Landon needed to talk with his brother or his
parents or…someone. I doubted my hearsay words would hold much credence.

Landon’s gaze seemed to have gone inward as though he
were thinking about something. Whatever the thoughts were they weren’t
pleasant, they in fact looked twisted and painful. His eyes had a sort of
torturous sheen to them. Suddenly, they came back into focus pinning me with
fervent intensity.

“Did he say who!?” Landon demanded. The next second his
coffee cup went flying, crashing and shattering all over the deck, he then grabbed
my upper arms almost brutally. “Nadia, did he say who!?”

His grip wasn’t hurting me, but the agonizing look in
his gaze was. He was really affected by this. Shaking my head I replied
sorrowfully. “I’m sorry Landon. He didn’t say.”

“What the hell Landon, let her go!” Seth slammed open
the glass doors tearing me out of Landon’s arms.

Landon didn’t seem to hear him. I watched in stunned
amazement as he spun around and grabbed the nearest piece of furniture, a tall
bar table, and threw it into the railing. It didn’t break since it was made out
of metal, but it did cause serious damage to both table and railing.

Seth immediately pulled me behind his back
protectively. I let him because it was the wrong time to assert my
independence.

“I’ll fucking kill him if it was her. I’m going to kill
him anyway, but if…” Landon roared in fury. Grabbing a barstool he sent it
after the table.

“What the hell!” I looked behind me to see Nic run out.
“What the fuck is going on?” He asked looking at us for some answers.

“I have no idea; he had a vice grip on Nadia and looked
about ready to kill.” Seth stated roughly.

They both looked at me. “I told him something his brother
said last night. He’s not too happy.” Seth glowered and I instantly knew what
he was thinking. “It wasn’t about me, it was about something else.”

I wasn’t sure if I should reveal what it was. The whole
world could know what a sicko Landon’s brother was, but I was feeling a bit
protective of Landon at the moment. He seemed to be taking this more personally
than I thought. He’d yelled something about a ‘her’, like he was afraid it was
someone he knew.

Whoever it was it was tearing him apart thinking it
might be her.

Landon was still smashing furniture and I realized that
Issy was in the kitchen and could see and hear the entire show now that the
door was wide open. “I need to get Issy. Try to get him to calm down.” I pushed
both Seth and Nic toward Landon as I went back inside and closed the door.
