"Okay, okay," he interrupted, wrapping his arms around her as she immediately returned the gesture, sinking into him.

"This means I don't have to worry about you shooting my ass anymore, right?" Max asked, ignoring Nate.

"I wouldn't go that far," she started. "I may need to put you in line again."

They all laughed and looking around, his family together with his wildcat beside him, Nate couldn't remember a time that ever felt so right.

"I love you," he told her, brushing his lips against her ear. He felt her shiver, a reaction he delighted in.

"I love you," she whispered back. Grabbing her hand, he started to pull her out of the meeting room.

"Where the hell are you two going?"

"I'm showing Libby her new office," he called over his shoulder. He heard Luke mumble something before Marlea's distinctive scoff at what was undoubtedly a less than charming comment.

"Is this your office?" She turned to him, her doe eyes curious as he closed the door behind him.

"Our office," he corrected. Her gaze moved to the black duffel bag that was sitting on the chair. He’d kept it there every day, hoping she would come back for it.

“Is that my bag?” He nodded his head and took a step closer toward her. He watched her with predatory intent as she backed up until she was perched seductively on the edge of his desk.

“We might need to do some redecorating.”

“I was planning on it.” He couldn’t keep the husky need from his voice. As he stalked toward her, she pulled her bottom lip between her teeth as she looked him up and down, her eyes catching on his straining pants. He had been so long without her his mouth was almost watering. “First, I need to rearrange this desk.” He pushed her to lie down at the same time she wrapped her legs around his waist, her fingers hurriedly working at his belt. Leaning down he nipped the side of her neck. “Wildcat,” he murmured into the soft skin behind her ear. Her squeal of laughter was a sound of pure joy. It was a sound that had changed his life as he knew it, a sound he vowed to hear every day for the rest of his life.

Epilogue

“Are you coming?”

Cameron looked up to see Aiden leaning against the doorframe. “No, not yet. Still have some research to finish here.”

“Well don’t work too hard, little one.”

“If I don’t, who will?” she teased.

Aiden chuckled. “You’re coming to Mom and Dad’s for dinner tomorrow?”

“I will be there,” she promised.

“Good. Don’t stay too late,” he ordered. She smiled and waved him off. Her brothers were always so protective of her and her sisters, she was just glad that their circle was growing now with Zoe, Brie, and Libby. They could all suffer the weight of overprotection together. She understood the reasoning behind why, they were all born with a vein of paranoia that only grew as they fell into their respective careers and finally Savage Security. What they kept forgetting was the fact that they’d trained each one of her sisters to protect themselves, both with a weapon and without. It was threatened, beaten and threatened again that she was never to leave home without her gun. Blowing out a rough breath, she stared at the information that floated across her computer screen before she shut her laptop violently, scrubbing her hand over her face. Leaning back in her chair she couldn’t figure out the empty void she was feeling. She was a numbers and technology girl, her mind was wired for academics and books. She worked her ass off so she wouldn’t have to feel so alone, but it was the loneliness on days like today that she couldn’t overcome. She was beyond happy for her brother and Libby. Nate deserved to be happy and Libby needed her happily ever after. Logan had to get home to Zoe and continue planning their upcoming wedding. Max had to get home to Brie and baby Jacob, Roxy and Stella were content racing against the wind and saving lives while Aiden and Luke relished in their bachelorhood, even though, her brother and Marlea had some twisted love-hate foreplay going on. And that left Cameron alone with her computer, something that was becoming a habit she wasn’t too fond of. She was beginning to understand why her brothers took mission after mission, not allowing for any downtime. They all needed escape, away from their pasts, away from their thoughts. Cameron looked up at the ceiling, a curious plan forming. Her sisters had skills that allowed them to join Savage Security missions, to be a part of the adrenaline she was envious of. Cameron’s skill forced her to stay home, safe and sound. She needed the adrenaline, the excitement of a mission. She wanted the high, the vibrating energy that accompanied her brothers when they came home successful. She wanted the excitement. She needed to convince them she was a physical need alongside them. Packing away her laptop, she bit her lip to contain her budding excitement. She would do whatever she had to, she would manipulate and cajole and she would finally get what she wanted. A mission. And an escape from her misguided thoughts.
