Chapter Thirty-Four

“Are you really okay with this?” Bishop asked her that night as they lay under the mirror in his bed.

“As long as I’m with you. That’s all I know. You make it better, Bishop. You always have.”

“If Caspar accepts this, Keller’s not going to make this easy.”

“I feel like we helped Keller. That he still needs a lot more.”

“Some people are beyond help, no matter how many good qualities they have,” he said.

“That’s not you,” she told him. “I know you think that sometimes, but you’re wrong.”

“Thanks, Luna.”

“I wish I could see the moon. I mean, it’s night all the time, or so you’d think.”

She trailed off. She knew the reasons, the violence, dust and debris made it impossible for anything but the satellites to blow it apart. Sun was more beneficial than the moon, but still...

“I swear, I feel it,” she said. “Go ahead, call me crazy.”

“Is crazy a bad thing? Because otherwise I’m screwed.” He was serious. Frowning.

“I love you.”

“Because of the crazy, or in spite of it?”

“Both.”

He nodded, seriously. “I can live with that.”

“Plan on it,” she told him, before she kissed every scar, every bruise, every hurt she found along his big body. The painkillers made him looser than usual. Dirtier too, or maybe this was just Bishop letting go now that she had. They’d faced their fears, showed that the past didn’t have to repeat itself.

Things changed. She’d changed, for the better. And she had him to thank for it.

When she told him all that, he smiled. “You gonna show me that appreciation, sweetheart?”

She grinned. Palmed his cock, then moved down his body to take him in her mouth. He surged off the bed and she hummed around him, then pulled back and licked the broad head. And then she crawled up him, straddled him...and lowered herself onto him, taking him fully inside her.

He grabbed her hips, held her there and they stared at each other without moving.

“Luna, Christ, you’re going to kill me.”

She shook her head. “Save you.”

He threaded his hand in hers. “Save me,” he agreed as she began to move back and forth. “Love me.”

“So much, Bishop. My life began when you walked into it.”

Bishop smiled. “Just took some ‘Patience’.”

“Even then, you knew.”

“Always, Luna.”

“Always, Bishop,” she told him. “Always.”
