He reluctantly ended the kiss and slid his lips along Evin’s cheeks to his ear and then down his neck. “No one but me will ever taste this,” he murmured and licked a path down Evin’s neck to his shoulder.

He worked his way down Evin’s left arm, kissing and licking along the way, across the ridges of his stomach and back up his other arm. “All of this is off-limits to everyone but me,” he said against Evin’s other ear.

“It’s all yours,” Evin moaned and grabbed on to Finn’s hips, pulled their groins together.

“Only mine.” Finn rolled his hips, their hard cocks coming in contact and sending a twist of electricity up his spine.

“Yes, only yours.”

Evin turned his head, chasing Finn’s lips, but Finn pulled back and met Evin’s lust-filled eyes. He grabbed Evin’s hand and laid it over Finn’s heart, holding it there. “You feel that?”

Evin nodded.

“It was beating this fast the first time I saw you, the first time I touched you. Jesus, Ev, it fucking beats out of control for you. I get that you need to hear it, need the words
I love you
and I fucking mean them with every beat of this heart. Love you so fucking much it hurts. But I need—” He swallowed down the lump of emotions. “—I need to show you. ’Cause that’s what makes it real for me.”

A brilliant smile lit up Evin’s face that caused Finn’s heart to beat even faster. Evin grabbed the back of Finn’s head with his free hand and smashed their mouths together. Finn had no idea how they managed it—their hands never stopped roaming, tongues swirling—but the next thing he knew, they were dripping wet and falling onto Finn’s bed, Evin landing on top of him. Then there was no more need for words. Finn used his hands and mouth and body to show this man how much he loved him.

“I missed you so much,” Evin murmured against Finn’s lips.

“Shh, show me, Ev. Show me how much you missed me and love me.”

Evin pulled back slightly, propping himself on his hands and looking down at Finn. “Yeah, I can do that.”

Slowly he moved in and out of Finn without taking his gaze from Finn’s, and Finn saw it. Saw the truth, the love, the need. He saw it all and he opened up more than just his body for Evin, he opened his heart fully. Gave it without question, without hesitation or a shred of doubt.

For the first time, unhurried, without fear, they made love, each touch, each kiss, erasing the pain and uncertainty.

His body coiled, his orgasm racing down his spine. “I love you,” he whispered as he gave over to the pleasure.

Evin didn’t have to say it back.

Instead, he grabbed on to Finn and showed him.

EPILOGUE

Detroit

One month later

“C
OME
ON
,
Sid,” Evin pleaded, practically dropping to his knees in front of the chair Sid lounged in with his feet kicked up on the battered backstage coffee table. “You’ve got to have a way to make this happen. You or Schaffer. One of you has the contacts to pull this off.”

Sid didn’t even look up from tapping on his phone when he answered. “I’m not using my contacts to score you an out-of-stock teddy bear.”

“It’s a One Direction teddy bear, man!” Evin reminded him. “Come on. Finn will flip. He’s already missing all their tour dates because of
our
tour.”

“No.”

“Please? I’ll take Miah babysitting duty for the first three shows.”

Sid’s head popped up.
Bingo.
Finally Sid understood how serious this was for him. “Ten. Gonna cost you at least ten nights of your life.”

Evin flinched. “Five. I don’t have the tolerance built to keep up with him.”

“Make it six and we’ve got a deal.” Sid held out his hand.

Evin shook it and, before he let go, added, “You have to get the one with Harry’s face on it. And the Louis one, too, if you can spin it.”

“You’re testing my patience, kid.”

The door crashed open, and Finn walked in. He slapped Evin’s ass. “He tests all my restraint for damn sure.”

“I don’t want to know.” Sid crossed his legs in what could have been an unconscious gesture. He tipped his head back and closed his eyes. “Already have seen too much of what both of you do in your free time and paid way too much money to keep said free time hidden in the bowels of digital hell.”

“Worth every penny,” Finn retorted, but he was searching for something, his gaze was bouncing around the room.

“What?” Evin asked.

“What what?”

Evin smirked. “Lost your lolly, Raggedy Ann?”

Finn spared less than a second of his search to glare at Evin and run his hand through his flaming red hair.

But Evin was having too much fun with his tragic hair color to let such an easy opportunity go by. “It’s your soul. You’re looking for your soul.”

“Shut up, Ev.”

“He’s looking for the end of the rainbow,” said Miah with a heinous attempt at an Irish brogue as he appeared in the doorway. “And his bowl of Lucky Charms.”

“They’re magically delicious,” Ritchie sang out, scooting past Miah to join Finn in the search party. “You find it?”

“No, man. I thought—aha!” He swiped something off the top of the clothes rack and held it up. “Knew it was in here.” Finn dinged the dented-up bell, a hollow sound emanating from it.

Miah lifted an eyebrow. “Not very resonant. How ironic.”

“Is that the one from Paris?” Evin asked.

Finn tossed it to Ritchie. “Doesn’t really work anymore, but I told Ritchie he can chuck it at Miah’s head to keep the ego in check.”

“Let’s go, boys,” Sid instructed, getting to his feet. “Reunion time.”

The four of them huddled together at the side of the stage, arms wrapped around each other. It wasn’t anything they’d done before a concert in the past, but this time out was different. The Detroit 3 were home, and as of a week ago, their +E was home too. With more money than any of them had seen in their lives, they could have lived anywhere, but he and Finn were buying a place downtown that overlooked the arena they hoped to play in one day. But tonight came first, and this was one of those shows Rezors would be bragging about being at for years to come.

Evin was the only one who noticed the way Ritchie didn’t lean in as far and his hands remained glued around his sticks and on Evin’s and Finn’s shoulders—distant even in the midst of their proximity. But Evin was also the only one who knew Miah might have feelings for Ritchie and that Ritchie was done putting up with Miah’s shit, and just Miah in general, really. Evin kissed Ritchie on the cheek, then Miah. They’d find a way for this to be okay again. As long as both of them were on that stage together, Evin had to believe this tear could be fixed.

“Well, Miah,” Finn said. “What you got to inspire our comeback tonight?”

Miah didn’t disappoint. “Don’t fuck up.”

He slapped them on the back and broke the huddle, jumping in place once. He grabbed Ritchie around the back of his neck and kissed his forehead, then led them onto the stage.

Evin’s ears were already ringing from the rolling thunder of feet pounding the theater floor and a cacophony of voices calling out for Rez over and over again, the volume building on itself with crushing ferocity.

Miah grabbed the mic off his stand and laughed into it. “We haven’t been gone long, so don’t pretend like you missed us.”

Evin caught Finn’s attention across the stage and winked at him. Finn flipped him off. He had a lollipop stick hanging out of his mouth, tattered jeans, bare feet, and a lopsided grin. As much as Evin laughed at that fiery mess spiked up on Finn’s head, he adored it too. Finn wasn’t scared to take risks. And Evin was going to make sure the chance Finn had given him would pay off.

“I give you Ritchie One-Dick, Two-Stick Myer on drums, Finn with an axe to grind, Evin the fake bass player, and I’m your in-house rock god.” Miah squatted at the front of the stage and pointed at a busty woman in the front row. “But you can call me Miah.” The floor rumbled under Evin’s feet with the responding cry from their fans.

Miah stood, his lips curved into a predatory smile that sent chills down Evin’s spine. When he faced the audience, the resounding roar had the chandeliers on the theater ceiling swaying, Miah’s booming gravel cutting through it all, “We’re Resonator, and we’re here to ruin you.”
