Chapter
Four

The day came when she would be tested to
see if she was worthy to enter the coven of murderers, as she liked to call it.
She wasn’t ready to tell Garret about it; it was too soon and she wasn’t sure
she would get in.

The thought of Garret brought a smile to
her lips, and she neared the entrance to the building where Maud the marauder
and her conspirators were. She had to come up with names for these people so as
not to drive herself crazy.

“Blessed be,” she was greeted by a young
girl around her age. “This way. Brother Ardan will be your guide today.”

The girl took her into a room where a man
was standing with his back to her. He was wearing a red and blue coat with a
hood. She could tell it was a man by his posture and his aura, his was orange.

“Blessings, Teacher,” she greeted and the
man turned, slowly removing the hood.

Adrianna’s mouth fell open and her face
froze into place. Garret also looked confused as he walked over to her. “You’re
Serenity?” He asked.

“This is your coven?” Her voice sounded
incredulous as it dawned on her that he was a part of the people who murdered
her parents.

“Yes, what are you doing here?”

She clenched her jaw and folded her fist
tightly, wanting to punch him, but she restrained herself. “Did they send you?
Was it some part of a grand plan to stop me from finding the truth?”

“What are you talking about?” Garret still
didn’t seem to understand.

“Don’t pretend. What part did you play? You
murderers!” She lost her cool.

Garret finally seemed to understand and
moved to lock the door. Her shoulders were shaking with rage and blue eyes
sending daggers his way. “Believe me, I had no idea about this. Are you sure
this place is responsible?” He asked quietly.

“Don’t pretend like you don’t know!” Her
voice echoed in the room.

Someone opened the door and popped their
head in, “Is everything okay Brother Ardan?”

“Yes, she’s my girlfriend. I had no idea
she was joining us,” he stated. “Brother Casta?”

“Yes,” the man came around the door wearing
a similar coat to the one Garret was wearing.

“Can we be excused while we discuss
Serenity’s joining us and maybe have someone else guide her?”

“Very well. Be blessed,” Casta said with a
slight bow. He obviously was a warlock of a higher order by the amulet around
his neck. Adrianna wondered if perhaps he was involved in the murders.

After Casta left, Garret removed his coat
and pulled on a football jacket like the one he’d given her. Gripping her arm,
he guided her out through the same entrance she came. He didn’t let her go
until they were about a block away.

She pulled away from him. “Don’t you touch
me!’ she spat.

“Adrianna, listen. I had no idea. I haven’t
been there long, believe me.”

“Why should I believe you? You’ve been
trying to get me to forget about these people… your people!”

“What were you trying to do anyway? Were
you really planning to join them? And then what?”

“I don’t need to answer to you!” She
shrieked and walked away. She was home in record time where she threw her bag
down on the sofa and fumed. How could she be so wrong about someone? How could
she not know that he was one of them? He was good. Did he follow her to the
mountains? Did Maud send him to seduce her to keep her under submission?

“Arghhh!” She picked up a book from the
coffee table and threw it across the room.

She was so furious that she wanted to tear
Garret apart with Maud and all her coven. Now, her plans were ruined to join
them and she was alone again. It was better that way anyway, she needed no one.
She had to come up with a plan B. She had to practice her craft, which was the
only way. She wanted to strip Maud of her powers and have her beg for her life.
As she picked up her mother’s book of shadows to find the power stripping
spell, someone knocked at the door. It was Garret.

“What are you doing here?” She coldly said.

“I can help you,” he replied. “I’ll help
you find what you’re looking for… evidence… anything. Just trust me. I had
nothing to do with it.”

“I don’t need your help. Leave me alone. Be
warned, I will not spare you when I take my revenge. I’ll take each and every
one of you down!”

“Adrianna, look at me, what do you see?”

She looked at him, but saw nothing. She
wasn’t calm enough to be able to see. There was one thing about Wicca Adrianna
had mastered as a child and that was reading auras. Her mother told her she was
born with the gift and was only taught the basic principles. She could tell a
person’s character by their aura and she could detect changes in the color
depending on a person’s emotions or moods.

She closed her eyes and walked towards
Garret, breathing deeply and counting back from ten. She opened her eyes and
looked at him. He had that pure orange swirling around him and there, in the
center, was white. There was no black or red anywhere. He was telling the
truth.

“Okay,” she said, a little deflated after
her outburst.

He stepped closer and wrapped his arms
around her. “We’ll get them together, but we’ll report them to Royal and let
them deal with the consequences. We find the evidence first.”

“Okay,” she squeaked against his chest.

*****

A month later…

he cabin was abandoned. It was strange that
the cabin was as she had seen it as a child. Garret was equally amazed at the
difference. When they arrived, there was no one living there. They had returned
to give Tomas the good news about how The Royal Coven dismantled the Castaways
and stripped the guilty ones of their powers and rights. Maud and those
directly involved in the murders were imprisoned in a dungeon beneath the city
where evil was contained by heavenly angels.

Garret had found out via talking to some of
the people involved. They trusted him and told him what happened. He found the
dagger that was used to kill her parents and strip their powers, also trapping
their souls.

Adrianna’s mother’s powers were bestowed
upon her and the members of the Blessings Unity coven restored. Garret joined
the coven and started undergoing training to become a leader.

“What do you think?” she asked, entering
the cabin which was full of dust and cobwebs.

“What’s that?” Garret was pointing to
something among the trees to the edge of the clearing in the yard.

She turned a looked, but could not see
clearly. They followed a path that led to what looked like a tombstone. The
marking on it read “Tomas Carver 1933 – 2001”.

“Could it be?” She wondered aloud. “That
means he’s been dead for twenty years?”

“Seems so. His spirit must have come back
to tell you something. He may still be here,” Garret observed looking around as
a gust of wind rustled the trees.

“Don’t tell me, it’s going to rain,” she
joked, but the amusement was wiped off her face as large drops of rain pelted
her head. This time she was wearing her boyfriend’s football jacket.

They hurried inside the cabin before the
rain came down heavily, quickly soaking up the dust and making puddles in the
yard. There was firewood packed before the fire place which looked like it had
not been used in many years. Garret rummaged around and found matches to make a
fire, while Adrianna swept the floor. They spent the afternoon cleaning the
cabin, knowing that they would be spending the night.

There was coffee, which they made over the
open fire in a pot and canned food they warmed which they had for dinner. As
they ate, they remembered the roasted meat and bread they ate the last time
they were there. They both wondered about the food, they’d eaten ghost food.

Night descended much quicker than
anticipated, and they both agreed to stay in front of the fire where they
spread an old sheet they found in the bedroom.

“This is cozy, I could totally live here,”
Adrianna purred.

“Me too,” Garret murmured. “He did say your
parents owned the place, so it’s yours.”

“You’re right. I wonder how many acres
there are.”

“Shouldn’t we find some sort of deed before
we get excited?” Garret, the voice of reason said.

“I think I found all the deed I need right
now,” she teased, pushing her hand inside the front of his jeans.

“Ha-ha, you found something indeed,” he
joked, flipping her onto her back and covering her mouth with his. He was
already hard as a rock and she was dripping down there. They stripped their
clothes off and lay next to the flickering fire.

Adrianna twisted herself until she was
astride him, her warm flesh resting directly in his large manhood. He reached
up and gently squeezed her breast and she groaned. She could wait no longer, so
with a rapidly pounding heart, she reached between them and guided his cock
into her awaiting flesh. She felt all of him push up inside her. She shifted
slightly to accommodate him comfortably, then she moved her hips, feeling her
clit brush against the base of his pelvis.

She continued to move, savoring the
sensations running through her vagina each time her clit rubbed him. He was
also moving his hips upwards to meet her movements. What started as a slow
rhythmic dance gradually escalated into a staccato of immense proportions.

“You’re so wild and beautiful,” Garret
murmured in between deep guttural sounds.

“Oh my God, Garret, I’m cominggggggggggg!”
She screamed, which seemed to echo above the pitter patter of rain on the roof

“Ahhhhhh!” Garrets growl sounded soon after
as they both reached the summit of their pleasure at about the same time.

Adriana collapsed happily atop her man
while he cupped her face and kissed her.

Chapter 1

“I give
up!” Selena threw up her hands in the air and flung her bag towards the
nightstand. She placed her face in her chubby hands as she sobbed. It was her 3
rd
month at trying to date guys that Charlotte has set her up with. She’s done
practically everything from speed dating, blind dating, casual meet-ups in
bars, and now, getting set up with men her friend knows and met online.

It was
her best friend, Charlotte, who got her into the online dating world. Charlotte
had nothing to say but high praises about the guys she met online, and later
on, went on dates with.

“Believe
me bestie, you can find practically every variety of guys online. There’s
another thing you can try. Why don’t you sign up for those mail order bride
websites? It’s still a lot like online dating except that marriage is the main
goal, not just dating. Plus, you don’t have to settle down for men you already
know in this small town. You can meet guys from other places and cities. You
get to check out other countries as well! Isn’t that great?” Charlotte was
beaming with actual delight as she told Selena what she found out about these
websites offering to set men and women up to possibly get married.

 “Uhm…wouldn’t
it be kind of desperate already?” Selena asked her looking dubious at the
thought of finding guys online, not only to date, but to marry. “I mean, how
could you be so sure that these guys aren’t psychopaths or rapists? Aren’t you
even scared that they aren’t who they say they are? At least, if you date
someone from around here, you know that they’re good people.”

It did
silence Charlotte for a minute as she contemplated what Selena just said.

 “Oh
come on Selena! You’re thinking about this too much. You’re supposed to have
fun meeting new people and not play detective.”

“I
know, but still, I don’t really dig the whole online mystery date that you’re
into, maybe next time.” She told her best friend as she was getting her coat
for another date. “Please Charlotte, all I ask is that you be more careful
about the guys you’re seeing, okay? There are lots of maniacs out there who
might look and talk normal online but might harm you if you decide to go out
with them,” she pleaded with her friend. She made sure that Charlotte was
protected by slipping pepper spray in her purse.

“Okay,
mother.” Charlotte said winking at her. “I’ll call you as soon as my date’s
over but don’t wait up for it. You go ahead and sleep. I’ll just leave a
message for you.” With that, Charlotte kissed Selena on the cheek and left.

Selena
fixed herself up with some salad. She’s been trying to eat healthily and watch
her weight more since it’s the first time in her life that she even thought of
losing some weight. She realized that having a 200-pound body is tiring, and
she can’t do what she loves, which was to take care of animals. She is a
veterinarian in a private clinic in town.

Being a
native in this small town has its perks, like basically knowing everybody and
their family histories, knowing that you could trust the people in the grocery
store, and even if you walk home late at night, you know that you’re safe.
However, that leaves little to the imagination and variety. Most of the people
she went out with are ones she’s known since childhood, so those dates were not
really exciting or new. Just catching up from high school days, and most of the
time, the night ended at a friendly, cordial peck on the cheek.

“Story
of my life…” she sighed as she powered up her laptop. She was browsing her
social media site and accidentally clicked a page with an ad. The next thing
she knew, she was signing up for something that showed bridal dresses and
flowers. She couldn’t find her glasses, so she just typed in the first letter
of her name and her browser automatically populated her name and other personal
data. She reached for her glasses on her dresser and accidentally pushed the
enter button.

“Oops.
Oh well, maybe it’s just an email subscription for something” she said to
herself. She’s never been a techie person. As long as she had access to her
email and other administrative stuff she uses, she’s fine. She proceeded to
doing some inventory and checking what she needed for the clinic. She needed to
get some supplies, like medicine, food for the animals, and some cleaning dog
shampoo for her lovable babies. She hated leaving them at the clinic, but she
can’t adopt them all. She already has 3 dogs and 2 cats in her house. She had
to get a cleaning lady to clean her house and yard every day. Not that she
hates it. She loves having her pets at home and has been trying to train them
to no avail. They were all too cute and stubborn that she just enjoys their
friendly banter and loyalty.

Selena
thought back to when she was still trying to find out what she wanted to do
with her life. From childhood, she has always been kind to animals and always
bringing home strays she picked up from the street. Her mother, Kathryn, having
to raise her alone, was glad that Selena had her pets to play with and not feel
so bad for being left alone so often. Since her mother was a single mom, she
had to work two, sometimes, three jobs, just to provide for them and save up
for Selena’s education. Kathryn was Selena’s hero, and when she passed 2 years
ago, it devastated Selena that she thought she could never get over her loss.
Charlotte was there to support Selena and help her recover from her grief. That
was the time she started taking better care of herself. She cut down on fatty
foods, started eating healthy, and made sure she gets a regular checkup. Her
mother died of a heart attack at 50 years old. Selena will celebrate her
twenty-sixth birthday in the next couple of months. She is preparing herself
for it because it’s another year to remind her that her mother is no longer
there to celebrate with her.

Selena
tried her best to get back to her life and to keep her busy. She opened a
veterinary clinic in town from her mother’s insurance and is now managing it.
It’s doing pretty well considering that there are only a couple hundred
residents there. Selena was satisfied with how the veterinary clinic was doing.
She doesn’t need much, and she doesn’t want much either. All she ever wished
for was to put up a business she can call her own and be with her friends.

She was
about to finish her inventory and shut her laptop down when an email popped up
from a name that wasn’t familiar to her. It came from a Dylan Jones.

“Hmm,
must be a new customer. I might as well answer him.” She opened the email and
was confused by the message.

“Hi
Selena,” it read, “I’m glad to meet you. I’m Dylan, and I’m from Houston,
Texas. I read your incomplete file in the website, and I was wondering if you
had time to talk to me. I want to get to know you better. Shoot me an email
back if you’re interested. Thanks, Dylan” it was short but confusing to Selena.

She
checked the site he was referring to and opened it. It was the one with bridal
dresses and flowers. When she read the top it said, “Come and meet your
Mail-Order Brides from the US. Click here now!”

“Oh my
God! What have I done?” she gasped and couldn’t believe she accidentally signed
up for a site offering Mail-to-Order Brides. She checked the email again and
opened Dylan’s profile. He was a hunk! He has an abundance of, probably
shoulder-length and adorably curly, black hair underneath a cowboy hat. He has
matching brown-black eyes that are hooded and mysterious-looking. She was
getting flushed just by looking at him. He looked like the ultimate hunky
cowboy with a lean and muscled body. He had a white shirt on and the shot was a
half body picture, so she could appreciate his flat stomach and rippling
biceps. He was huge. He must be about 6’4 or even taller.

“Oh my,
you do look handsome” she stared at the picture and couldn’t believe a guy like
him sent him an email. Wait, did she even have a picture up? She just signed
in, so she couldn’t have possibly posted a profile picture. She contemplated on
completing the profile and against her better judgment, went ahead and posted a
picture and answered the rest of the personal questions in her page. After she
finished with her own profile, out of curiosity, she also peeked at some of the
women who were in there. They were all gorgeous and sexy, and there were even
men who posted their own photos and profiles in search for the bride of his
dreams. Although she didn’t intentionally sign up for it, she’s beginning to
understand Charlotte’s point of meeting other men from other places.

“Well,
it’s worth a shot. I am getting desperate anyway, so why not admit it.” She
told herself that she wasn’t dying to get married, but she does like the idea
of possibly getting the man of her dreams, even if it was done online.

She
suddenly remembered that she wasn’t like one of those gorgeous women who posed
like supermodels in their pictures. She was chubby and had plump arms and legs.
Who could possibly be interested in marrying her? She can’t even get a decent
date, let alone a decent husband. She sighed deeply and felt her spirits sink.

She
still wanted to send a response to that Dylan guy. Maybe he would still want to
get to know her even if she was fat and not skinny. Or he may ignore her
completely after checking her body. Either way, she would find out his true
intentions once he sees her picture. She sent a short reply saying she is
interested in getting to know him and asked that he ask her any questions if he
wants.

Selena
finally closed her laptop and went to bed, putting the online mail-order bride
website and that Dylan guy to the back of her mind and forgetting about them.
